  1. For the longest time it was only 720p so they must have moved up to 1080p in the last couple of years.
  2. Right now I have Paramount+, Hulu, Netfrix, Peacock, and I just cancelled Disney+ because their Marvel and Star Wars shows are terrible. I had Max for a couple of years and I'll subscribe to that once Game of Thrones returns.
  3. 4K on a small tv is pointless. On a large tv, say 65", you need to be about 6ft or closer to really take in the increase in resolution. The bigger the tv the better when it comes to 4k. Also, 4k that is broadcasted, say over a streaming service, will not look as good as a physical media source due to compression. Streaming 4k is second rate which is why I have a physical media collection.
  4. It's always been in 720p because many broadcasting companies don't want to pay to upgrade to 1080p. I've actually never seen a sporting event in 4k, but I've heard of Japan broadcasting in 8k. I've never seen anything in 8k but there are 8k tvs on the market. I have a 65" 4k OLED CX10 and I watch 4k HDR movies on a regular basis as I have a 4k blu-ray collection, so I'll be interested to see what football looks like in 4k. Hell I'll be interested to see it in full HD as it's always been 720p, or 1080i which is lame.
  5. Then why didn't this fat tub of lard used car salesman use all this POWER over the draft that the Huddle loved to tell me had to draft Purdy?
  6. I'd be looking to trade our best defensive players if the new coaching staff thought Young was not our guy. If the new coaching staff thinks we can win now with Young, then I'd keep Horn even with the injury risk.
  7. No, but we need to make a move for a #1 WR at some point.
  8. There isn't anything we can do within reason to compete for the South in 2024. The long term blueprint would be to build something similar to what the Saints had with Drew Brees in 2011, or whichever team you like best under his era. That will take multiple seasons of building and some luck. The ceiling for Young is Wal-Mart Drew Brees if we're lucky, and a career backup if we're not. Young looks more backup than Brees, but they both need the same system. We'll need a god-tier roster to win the South, or playcalling that just schemes guys open and makes things really easy for Young for most of the game. A TD machine like Jimmy Graham would be nice to snag in the draft if we can find one. We have needs from top to bottom on offense. When you need a #1 WR, TE, LT, G, and your QB has looked abysmal for an entire season, you are truly screwed short term. We're not even close. I'm a believer in building the trenches in the draft first, then we'll see what's available for a #1 WR in free agency. We don't have a #1 pick so finding a #1 WR in the 2nd round is highly unlikely and that can't be your plan. We'll know more but we're too far out to really get a grip on the situation.
  9. Yeah he does have a strange kind of unblinking stare almost as though he's seen a ghost in the audience but he's trying to play it cool. Dan is my all time favorite Panthers LB, so I'm happy to have him as GM. He can't be worse than Fitt, who always did the opposite of what I wanted. I won't bore you with another rant about his decision making. What type of players do we need? Dawgs? I don't think we have a clear definition for that type of player. I know what I don't want. Journeymen who are just playing for a paycheck. When things go south, they point the finger at the guy next to them, and they start trying to avoid injury. The team becomes disjointed and no one wants to go the extra mile because the players don't care about one another. You see it when guys stop running even though they might be needed if someone missed a tackle, fumbles, ect. Or you see guys making a "business decision" to avoid a big hit, or make a big hit. No bond to the team. We need leaders who ALSO play the game at a high level. No one listens to "leaders" who suck on Sunday. Who cares what they have to say? Olsen, TD, Luke, they were natural leaders who also dominated on the field. That works. Guys listen to them as they should. Young is not a leader, and he doesn't play well either. We have too many (not a leader, and doesn't play well) types, and that leads to 2 wins. There are also (plays great, but not a leader) types on this team, for instance Jaycee Horn, and a good past example would be Steve Smith. We need natural leaders who play well on game day. How do I think of dawgs? To me a dawg is a player who is going to come at you on every snap and knock your head off or run you over. He doesn't care about his body, the opponents yapping, or any damn thing. He's coming with violence or speed or whatever it is that is his natural gift, and he's going to be resolute and relentless. It's not about size, it's about his mindset. The ultimate dawg was Ray Lewis imo, and Steve Smith is a good Panthers example. Do we need guys like that? No need to ask the question, but we need leaders and followers as well.
  10. The short passing and missing on deep passes to the point where if the WR had a ladder he couldn't have caught it is going to lead to 13 points. I love short passing when you have a QB who can be a play maker and make something out of nothing. Great throws into tight windows that make Sportscenter, guys who are god-tier at YAC, ect. I just don't have confidence that Young is going to come out and do better than in the low teens in points. I want Young to come out and dominate and look something like Drew Brees with short passing. I have no confidence in that. And the deep ball... good lord.
  11. Not good enough. Short passes are going to lead to 13 points and boat load of L's. On the other hand, we don't have much else to try. Young doesn't have a deep ball.
  12. Teams will offer low ball prices, so no. For a 1st round pick, I'm listening.
  13. CMC was shocked and hurt by the trade. Did we lose the trade? A better question is have we won at anything in years? Losing CMC makes it easy to bottom out and start landing #1 overall picks to select QBs. We lost our 2024 pick, but we likely will have the 2025 #1 overall pick unless a miracle turnaround happens. CMC would elevate us to 4 or 5 wins by dragging the offense down the field like a plow horse, and against bad teams that is sometimes enough for a win. With no CMC we have hit rock bottom, and it is time for the NFL reward program to kick into effect. We pile up losses and look at the top couple of QBs in the draft. On the other hand, if Young becomes good then we build around him. Even if Young pans out in the long run, CMC would be an aging and extremely expensive RB whose body would be completely wrecked from being Mr. Everything here.
  14. I would draft another QB, but I'm not qualified to say Young is cooked. I don't know, but what I do know is that he looked like total poop, and CJ looked good. That's troubling to say the least.
  15. He might be worse than Nate Chandler and I never thought I'd see anyone worse. A sports writer, upon seeing Nate play for the first time said, "He is like a pillar of ash that disintegrates on contact." Zavala gave Nate a run for his money for Panthers all time worst o-lineman.
  16. I can't believe that o-line coach lasted as long as he did. He celebrated like a moron when we drafted Zavala, and proceeded to have the most confused and under performing o-line in the NFL. I thought he would be fired right after Frank and Beans was canned.
  17. I'm all for a ban on bringing up the past. We didn't want Fitt, Rhule, and Frank and Beans to do what they did, but it's over now. They made the most idiotic mistakes at every turn, and now we're the worst team in the NFL by far. The good news is that there is a system in place to prevent teams from staying in the basement, the NFL draft and free agency. We're just going to have to wait this out and try not to die of boredom. I'm thinking its going to be SF versus the Ravens. If CMC is the difference maker in that game, then that will be the cherry on top of the worst NFL season in Panthers history. At least with Pickles we had the #1 pick coming up. Now we have nothing. This is rock bottom.
  18. Yes don't make of Cheese Mo'z or the concussions.
