  1. Absolutely There are zero QBs in this draft that are clearly head and shoulders above everyone else. Clearly Apples and Oranges. Clausen was drafted in the 2nd round. Received 1st and 2nd string Reps in Preseason. Started several games and clearly wasn't the Answer at QB. Corral was drafted in the 3rd Round. Received very little reps even with 3rd string lines in practice. (well documented 5 minutes or less at the end of practice) Had 2 preseason games with linemen who aren't even in the league anymore. This is your typical Corral haters trying to justify drafting their favorite mancrush next year. The good thing is Stroud and Young will not be there when our pick comes in so we'll either trade down and pick up picks or draft another position of need.
  2. As much as we would like to say we hate Rivera. He has WFT above .500 and pushing to make the playoffs with Taylor Heinke as their QB. McDermott, from the same tree, has Buffalo as a top team. You may not like the defensive side, but it does work. Salah for the Jets in another positive for defensive head coaches.
  3. I don't agree. As you said Surtain wasn't fooled. From the replay Surtain had a clear path to undercut the throw, by double clutching, it prevented the Int but also prevented the completion.
  4. These we great QBs for their Era. The rules favorited the defense and completion percentage would obviously be lower. It would be very interesting to see those two QBs play in this ERA. Unitas would have had some great number. Very accurate passer and a great student of the game. One of the last QBs to call his own plays.
  5. Wilks Positives Winning at home. That's a good thing. Getting PANTHER FANS back in the house. Defense is playing lights out and keeping us in games. Has the locker room. Players believe in him and that goes a long way sometimes. Keeping him as our HC keeps continuity in the locker room. Wilks Negatives Not very good at changing game plans when things don't go right. Had zero answers for Cincinnati. Gotta win on the road to be a playoff caliber team. So far we are 0fer. Not sure if he'd change offensive coordinators. Bring in a New Head Coach. Positives Most likely an offensive mind with imagination and can get the team to put up some points. Fresh start after a crazy 2.5 years worth of Rhule. Clean the closet. Bring in a New Head Coach. Negatives Could turn out to be a terrible hire and sets us back at least 2 years. Bringing in a different type of offense and defense that requires players whose skill set is different than what we have on the roster. Could be a total rebuild. MY TAKE First we need to forget about Wilks time in Arizona. He was given a pretty rotten hand to play with. He was never given time to build his team. Arizona's management forced Rosen on him. Arizona had their eye on Kingsbury and 3-13 was the perfect reason to dump him but not all Wilks's fault. Keep Wilks. He has the locker room and the team, IMO, love playing for him. McAdoo run first offense is OK but struggles when defenses focus on stopping the run. I would replace McAdoo with a good OC. I would want an OC that can build a good staff that when he moves on as a HC his protege continues the same offense. I'm inclined to keep Fitterer and Fits need to continue to improve our trench players. Offense and Defense. While we can't completely focus on these positions. Keeping our QB upright goes a long way in getting the best out of our QB and putting pressure on the QB for the defensive side of the ball. Fits needs to find gems in the latter rounds.
  6. If he didn't double clutch that was probably going to be a pick 6. He also missed a wide-open DJ that probably would have scored. He had some mistakes today that he got away with because our running game was on display.
  7. Sam played well today, and I liked what I saw especially against a good defense. That said, he looked great the first 3 games of last year and then the wheels fell off. If he were to somehow lead us to the playoffs, I still wouldn't offer him a big contract. A modest deal would be the best. If someone else wants to offer him big money, I'd take the compensation pick over a big money deal. Too much inconsistency for a big contract. If he did play well, I would not draft a QB with our 1st pick. Maybe our 2nd round pick. I would start the offseason with Darnold and Corral.
  8. Dude, if your nuts look like this.... You need to see a doctor. Awww did I hurt the little boy's feelings? You cry babies over draft position are just that. Cry babies. Then again, you're probably the same ones that have never played a single minute of sports.
  9. Let it go, man. Teams don't lose for draft picks. Our defense is legit and who knows with some confidence from our QB we might just win out and really make things interesting. There are 16 teams over .500. Go join their bandwagon.
  10. I mentioned him in a post about a month ago. Surprisingly he's not the #1 TE on Georgia's team. Brock Bowers in a beast too and will be top pick when he comes out. He's a sophomore so I don't think he'll come out until next year.
  11. I get it perfectly. You have double standards. Man crush on Lance and hatred for Corral. Just freaking admit it. My reading comprehension is perfectly fine. It's your logic that makes no sense so no matter how much you flap your lips it's doesn't make sense. Not quite the monsoon you cry about. This is from the official game day weather. Notice they don't report any gusts. Game Weather: Cloudy, rain Temp: 69° F (20.6° C) Humidity: 87%, Wind: SW 16 mph if you can't throw in 16mph in the NFL you don't need to be playing. IT WASN'T a monsoon. Stop making excuses. The guy had more rushes than he had completed passes. He had twitchy feet and took off at the first hint of pressure. Yet, you have some mythical reasons why Corral can't be trusted. Why cause he looked terrible in a preseason game. Had little to no reps during the entire preseason. I believe he was given 5 minutes at the end of practice. If they are lucky he got 5 or 6 plays. You make no sense and your logic as to why you give Lance so much love yet throw a way a rookie based on nothing is beyond me.
  12. The pot calling the Kettle Black. You are part of the group that bashes Corral for a poor showing in a PRESEASON GAME with scrub linemen. Like I said. He was an understudy for an entire season. Reps all preseason with the starting lineup. He just doesn't have it. Save this conversation and I'll eat crow if he turns into something. I have more doubt about Lance than I do Corral.
  13. Here is my reason. Reich was successful with Wentz in Philly and bringing him to Indy was supposed to put them in the upper echelon of the league. That move failed. Bringing Ryan in was supposed to make them better than Wentz and they have struggled below .500. I just think we can do better if we are going to go offense let's get someone who runs a good offense like Philly, Buffalo or KC.
  14. Not sure what your love affair with Lance is but many see him as I do. Heading towards a big bust. I am down on a QB that was groomed for a year that looks absolutely worse than Corral did with a scrub offensive line in his 1st preseason game. Fields isn't showing much. His Bears are the same record as us. Nothing too impressive. My terrible takes are far more accurate than the Tank Crew and the Corral haters.
  15. Gotta love Frank Reich #14 Carolina's 1st QB. But that's it. Frank went to Indy and brought Wentz with him, Wentz Bombed. Then he brings Matty Ice, and he benches him and gets fired. Please for the love of God get off the retreads. We did it with QB, do we have to do it with HC? Hell, if that's the case, let's double dip. Former NFL and College HC Chip Kelly.
  16. I will have a much better opinion after this weekend. OSU/Michigan in an epic battle. Two 10-0 teams in one of college football's greatest rivalries. I'm pulling for OSU but want to see Michigan really put some pressure on Stroud. Stroud hangs in there and has a good game. It might shake the feeling I have that he is overrated. Go Buckeyes.
  17. Reading comprehension a little slow? What part of this don't you understand? The great class of 2021 is starting to look weak at best.
  18. Not No but Hell no He's shown me absolutely nothing. He runs at the first hint of pressure and is probably no better than PJ Walker. It also doesn't promote that selecting a first round QB is the obvious choice in the draft. Lawrence has been up and down. Fields isn't impressive Wilson seems to be trending down. Lance looking like a Bust. Jones barely a half a step ahead of 6th round Zappe.
  19. Good point, we'll see. IMO Snow wanted to go with Rhule, plus he and Wilks definitely had major conflict.
  20. I think Holcomb has done a pretty good job outside of the Cincinnati game. We limited a pretty good Baltimore offense to 3 points until we turned the ball over in our own territory. I wouldn't be upset if we retained him. At least we would have some continuity on the defensive side. This gives the new HC more time to focus on the offense.
  21. I agree but it is a double edge sword. If you lose a good DC than you are in the same boat. 60%-40% it's harder to find a good OC compared to a good DC. Maybe 51%-49%
  22. You just made the point for a defensive minded HC without agreeing to it. Quinn, a defensive minded HC, had a good OC when they went to the SB. Atlanta failed to follow up with another good OC. It's one or the other, it just depends on the owner. Tepper seems to want a young offensive minded head coach. Either way you are going to have to bring in a coordinator for your opposite skill set. Does the new HC try to keep Wilks as a DC or maybe just Holcomb? We assume he'll bring in a protégé for his OC. If we go offensive HC, IMO you keep, at minimum, Holcomb. The defense has played well considering our offense to be so anemic. I think it would be foolish to start all over on the defensive side as well as the offense. My biggest concern with a "young" head coach (offensive or defensive) is, can he lead the team. Can he get them to buy into his goals, can he motivate, can he be a leader and still get his offense into place? We don't want to get into the carousel that the Lions and Jets have been doing for years and years. Hiring and firing head coaches. I guess we'll see.
  23. Play anyone but Mayfield until we are guaranteed that our 4th round pick is safe. Than pick your poison. I wouldn't be surprised if Darnold does better than last year. He'll have much more time to throw the ball with our offensive line playing better.
