  1. I'm talking with the Panthers, I could give 2 fugs about who and when he played before. IN OUR OFFENSE 4:19 left to go in the 4th QTR, Eason took his first snap. That is actually less than a 1/3 of a quarter. Sam is Sam. He's going to look good but at that critical moment. He's going to screw up.
  2. Vinny would be interesting but I don't think they allow walkers on the football field. Vinny was ancient when he played in 2010 and wasn't mobile back than.
  3. The tight end out of Georgia Darnell Washington would be very interesting. 6'7" man amongst boys. He's big and would be great in the running game and can catch. Darnell Washington Stats, News, Bio | ESPN
  4. Mayfield or Eason. If you're talking Mayfield I agree. If you are talking Eason, what harm would it do to give him this week to show what he can do? Absolutely none, unless you still think we can compete for a playoff spot.
  5. I don't anyone said he was the future, but he damn sure looked better than PJ "I can't hit a bull in the butt with a banjo" Walker. Sam sucks we agree but you're going to base Eason off a 1/2 a quarter. Come on. At least, give it a complete game with a week with the starting team before you trash him to the junk pile. He's practice squad for a reason and expectations are pretty low. Honestly, I'd rather take a good look at him going into the offseason. We're going to need a competent backup.
  6. Yeah, i think if Baker hadn't have gotten hurt PJ would have been unemployed after the SF game.
  7. Yep Rhule really fugged that up. We'll see how well Corral heals. Most of the stuff he'll do is non-contact anyhow.
  8. I never said it would be a rookie QB. Because you draft a rookie QB doesn't mean he'll start from day one. There will be several QBs that could come on a 1-year deal to make a run at it. The best thing about the NFL is each new season someone has turned things around. Pessimistically, 2 or more years. Optimistically next year.
  9. Do not agree with this at all. (I can't believe I am saying this) We have a good offensive line, CMC and some decent WRs. We have a top 10 defense, if they weren't on the field so much. You bring in a good HC with an innovated offense, a QB that at minimum, can manage the offense. A defensive coordinator that can utilize the good players we have. It's not impossible to turn this around in one off-season. A prime example is the NY Giants. Brian Daboll has this team playing great football. They are fighting to the end and are winning. Last year they were as bad as we were. This year they are in the position to get a wildcard and depending on how the remainder of the season goes. They could win their division.
  10. Minnesota? they are 5-1. Add CMC with Cook and Jefferson. That would be nasty.
  11. If either of these teams were to get CMC they would immediately be favored to win the AFC. The game the other day was one of the best games all season. Fun to watch Mahomes and Allen battle it out.
  12. Definitely, I truly think if Corral was given some time with our new offensive line he would have fared much better. The injury bug that seemed to be hovering over Corral definitely doesn't help his case.
  13. "This takes us back to Rhule's Redshirt Freshman concept." I was referring to your comment back then. It really screws us going into 2023 draft. We could have had so many other options if we had a true gauge of Corral's QB skills.
  14. If CMC were on the blocks and I were Fitterer I would be playing up "several teams have inquired about CMC". This is the best way to increase his value. That said, I think we are listening but don't have any real plans on trading any of our stars.
  15. What really gets me is Corral wasn't included in the competition. I agree he had an uphill climb to move past both of them, but we would have had a better evaluation of him going into the 2023 draft. Instead, he got bumped to the bottom of the barrel and receive no attention whatsoever. This takes us back to Rhule's Redshirt Freshman concept. Hypothetical scenario: What if, Corral looked the part, did some good things with a good O-line. We end up with the first pick in 2023 but are satisfied that Corral looks to be the answer. Now we are in the position to trade down and get several picks for the #1 spot. We could have reaped a nice haul for the #1 pick. Because Rhule failure to give him a shot, we'll never really know and are forced to take another QB and basically gave away our 3rd round pick in 2023.
  16. Agreed, but not because he was given a fair chance. This was a huge talking point during pre-season but Rhule was all about making Mayfield the starter in a bogus competition between him and Darnold. The "future QB of this franchise" wasn't given any real opportunity to be evaluated. He was given 5 minutes at the end of practice which equates to 4 or 5 plays per session. Come on, there is NO WAY IN HELL you are going to tell me that based on his preseason performance he's a bust. Had Rhule truly given him a fair shot and he looked bad, maybe I could agree with you. He looked bad in his first preseason game. His second game he looked much better, though many just point out how bad he looked game one. No one wants to acknowledge his performance prior to getting hurt was better. That doesn't help the narrative that we MUST draft a QB in 2023. Rhule put us in this situation where we'll probably draft a QB. But for all we know we could end up with 2 very good QBs. YOU NOR I TRULY KNOW. Anyone that says he's bust, or a superstar is pure speculation. None of us know the true decision-making power Rhule had over Fitterer. You say more, some say much less, I've never tried to assume anything because all I know is Tepper gave Rhule far too much power. I agree that a GM and Coach need to be like hand and glove. Given Rhule was in place 1 year ahead of Fitterer I would believe Fitterer took the job knowing he wasn't going to have full control. When we hired Fitterer many on this board wanted him as our top choice. I'd like to see what he can do without the shackles he had with Rhule. It would a shame if we dump him for someone else and he goes onto building a powerhouse somewhere else. Anytime you change coach and/or GM you are gambling, correct? In hindsight, you'd say Rhule was better than Rivera? I wouldn't. Changing GM's isn't always the right move. How did Gettleman work out for us? He was 50/50 on first round draft picks, he jettisoned our best WR without finding one viable replacement. Hurney was terrible but IMO Gettleman was worse. Everyone thought he was a savior (including myself) He talked a good game but in the end he sucked. I get your opinion and as you said, he's staying so hopefully, I'm right and you're wrong because if you're right, we just wasted another year.
  17. Got the Mayfield part but there is no way you can for certainty say Corral is a bust or a bad pick. Corral wasn't given one chance to play with NFL caliber players. No one is going to convince me and many others that he got a fair shake. Everyone knows he had limited reps in practice and two preseason games with 75% of the players not making ANY NFL roster. I'm not going to hang a "Bust" label on him just yet and even if he is a bust, I wouldn't put it on Fitterer due to the Rhule's Absolute Power. You have no true evidence one way or the other how Fit worked with Rhule. Tepper took any true power that Fitterer had when he gave Rhule the absolute power. This is purely opinion. Fact is Rhule had more power than he ever should have. End of Story. Anytime you bring in someone new you are risking getting worse. Fitterer absolutely deserves another opportunity with this team. He'll have a say in who the HC is going to be, and it will be someone he can work with.
  18. How quickly Jones fell. After last season he looked to be the best QB in that draft class now it appears he might not have a job when he returns to the field.
  19. IMO, Zappe looks better than Jones. It's only been a couple of starts but I like the way he has been playing. I think NE nabbed another good QB in the latter rounds.
  20. Not many QBs coming out of college don't have that concerns. Young has the "IT" factor. He makes plays when initially the play isn't there. I get the love for him and would not be upset if we drafted him. That said, I worry about his height and his durability. He can't take shots like he did against Tennessee. NFL players will make him pay and he'll get hurt. Stroud has all the tools to be good. One thing I noticed about him was some of his passes don't have the zip they should especially on out patterns. He gets away with those throws in college, he won't in the NFL. I've seen a couple of Tennessee games but never really focused on Hooker until last Saturday. He handles the pocket well. Has all the tools to be as good as Young or Stroud. He just hasn't had the exposure, until this year, that Young and Stroud have had. If Tennessee runs the table in the SEC and reaches the SEC Championship game, he'll be right up there with Young and Stroud. Very similar to Joe Burrows climb a couple of years ago.
  21. I've said this before about PJ. He's got a active arm but couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a banjo. His accuracy is poor. Throwing downfield with PJ is like throwing a punt. Eason at least looks the part. He did ok until his Int. I feel bad for the guy because he really gave us a small spark until the Int. I would ride with Eason this weekend. He can't be any worse than PJ.
  22. @DJ feed me moore Cam was nowhere near top of the QB chart when the season started. He rose up and took the Heisman Trophy and #1 pick. Played pretty damn will considering they didn't give him a true #1 WR his entire time here. You obviously didn't see the Alabama/Tennessee game or you just have your heart set on Young or Stroud. This young man is legit. I saw him make some great throws. Didn't phase under pressure, stood in the pocket and ran only when necessary. Fug the age. 25 is still a baby. If he is a legit QB he could last 12-15 years more.
  23. I think it is insane to expect a 250-300+ pound defender who is running at full speed to have to attempt to not squish a QB when they tackle them. It's part of the game. It's one thing to do it out of frustration but it's part of the game and QBs should not be excluded from good solid tackling.
