  1. There was a tweet or some post that they weren't allowing Brown to do what he does best. I will be highly interested to see how he plays under Wilks.
  2. I'd have to go back and listen to the press conference again, but I think it was Fowler because Tepper mentioned his name. He clearly ruffled his feathers though, might have plucked one or two of them in the process.
  3. Much has been written and said how Snow would drop Burns into coverage instead of getting after the QB. I would like to see McCall and Brown at DT to really push the pocket and Burns and YGM getting after the QB. Rotation Loannidis and Nixon at DT. Thoughts?
  4. It will all depend on how we handle Cooper Kupp. The guy is a beast and can find a way to get open. If Wilks plays an aggressive defense it might be possible.
  5. I know many hate him but if there were some way we could get him, including giving up a 2024 1st round pick. I'd do it.
  6. You might be right. Payton may pull the plug on coaching Carolina if we trade CMC. I would imagine Payton would get the most out of CMC.
  7. We've seen the DC coordinator route for HC. While we have had some really good defenses it seems that the offensive side of the ball was under managed. I can only think of Chudzinski as the only decent offensive coordinator we've had since Dan Henning left. I think it is easier for a team to lose a defensive coordinator and replace with a member of the staff and keep rolling. We saw McDermott and Wilks leave and our defense continued to be good. We also saw the opposite when we lost Chudz. We could never find a coordinator to take over and keep going. So I believe, if we are going to let Wilks go after this season than our choice should be a good offensive mind that will stay in power and our scheme won't really change much when the OC moves on to be a head coach. Hopefully, we have a DC like McDermott and we keep filling the DC spot with proteges of the departed DC. Thoughts
  8. You make it sound as if there is a surefire franchise QB in this coming draft. I see potentially good QBs but none that say Franchise about them. Look at T. Lawrence in Jacksonville. He's not, IMO, living up to expectations. Maybe he doesn't have a supporting cast but he not showing he's elite yet. He may never be but in 2021 draft everyone was sure he was a surefire franchise QB. You base your assumptions on Corral on a HC that treated him like he was a freshman in college. He didn't give him any real opportunities to shine. I agree he looked horrific in his first preseason game, but most knowledgeable fans would say he looked much better in the 2nd preseason game before he got hurt. I think given a real opportunity with a good coaching staff we could have a GOOD QB, maybe not a franchise QB but someone who can execute the offense. Someone who can score enough points to complement our defense. Rhule put us in this situation to consider a QB in 2023. I'll wait until after the season to say whether I believe any college QB is worthy of the #1 spot or even top 5 picks.
  9. Next up, PJ Walker gets released and any other scrub from Temple and Baylor.
  10. So, I guess you can say Rhule Snowed us..... hahaha
  11. Based on what? 2 preseason games with offensive linemen who aren't even on the practice squad? Preseason game 1 was horrific but MC played much better in his second stint before getting hurt. I agree with @panthers55 at this point in the college season, I am not overly impressed with any of the QBs in this upcoming draft. Sure, there are some decent QBs but franchise I don't see it. Wilks had a decent defensive backfield when he was here before. IMO, he has a better one now. Read the Steve Wilks Bio on Panthers.com. In his 5 of 6 years in Carolina we had a top 10 defense. Defensive Coordinators have the final say and it is quite apparent that Snow wasn't going to toe the line especially after Wilks moved past him in the pecking order. Steve Wilks (panthers.com)
  12. Robbie clearly wants out of here and there are a few teams that might be interested, (ie KC). If we could get a decent pick, 3rd or 4th rounder. I would be estatic to see him go.
  13. The only problem is, I don't see a franchise QB out there this year. Stroud seems to be the front runner but OSU is loaded with talent and he just works the system well. Young is a midget and after Baker I don't know if we want a small QB. IMO these QBs have as many question marks as last year's class or the year before, including Lawrence.
  14. Kind of hard to argue. He's had several different kinds of QBs and still succeeded. If we end up drafting #1 he'd get his chance to work with two young QBs.
  15. Wilks was under Snow now he's over him. I see Snow having a big problem with Wilks.
  16. Ya think. I get an opportunity to come home every once in a while, and I had tickets with my 3 daughters and one of their boyfriends to that game. We looked so good in the first half I thought we were going to cruise to another win. Then the old Darnold showed up and ruined the day.
  17. Yes, I do. He always took care of himself. He worked tirelessly in the offseason to improve himself. He was a team player and when he got hurt he was going after a defender who intercepted his pass. RW or TB never gave an effort to do that. It is sad he got hurt that way but to imply he didn't take care of himself is ludicrous. That said, he is still better than any QB we have on our roster. PERIOD
  18. I posted something like this last week. Outside of Roy who is a good rotational player on the D-line, I don't see many of Rhule's poster children hanging around much longer.
  19. WTF are you talking about. Cam was a physical specimen. The shoulder injury was on a fluke play where he was trying to save a pick 6. While he isn't the Cam we once knew. He is, by far, better than any QB we have right now.
  20. The sticking point with Payton is he is still under contract with New Orleans and it is going to take draft picks to get him. If we have the top pick I don't see us giving up that pick for Payton.
  21. He's part of that lawsuit and I hope he wins. He had one season in Arizona and was canned just because they wanted Kingsbury. He wasn't given a clean shot at restoring a franchise. He's got a lot to do and a brutal schedule in front of him. I don't know if he'll win any more games but if he can put us in a situation that we look competitive I wouldn't mind seeing him given a full season.
