Sam Darnold is currently a certified loser at the NFL level. His record as a starter is 13-25. He would need to almost go undefeated this season to not be considered a loser at the NFL level anymore. I'm not saying rolling the dice on Darnold was a bad idea. It was worth the gamble based on what the Panthers were able to acquire him for. But the fact the Panthers management didn't bring in a Plan B in the likely scenario Darnold is a failure as a Panther is why I believe everyone involved in that decision should be fired if he is indeed a failure. The Panthers had Justin Fields fall into their lap. They could have signed a veteran QB like Andy Dalton. Or kept Teddy Bridgewater. Or brought in some other QB with starting experience. The 2021 Panthers QB room might be the absolute worst in the NFL.

That's it for his NFL career.

I'm sure it's DJ Moore they are extending, who else would it be? And as far as LT, who is available that would be an upgrade?

I hope Darnold turns it around when the games start mattering. And everything I’m about to say will be moot. But if Darnold flops I want the entire staff fired. The fact they didn’t bring in another starting caliber option behind a known flop of a QB is massively unacceptable. Drafting a CB over Justin Fields when you have a known loser at QB was so dumb.

This board has gotten much worse mainly because the tinderbox has spilled over into the main forums a lot of times. Plus I think people are generally getting dumber.

Hell has frozen over

I don’t like resting starters on a team with a bunch of young players that have accomplished literally nothing at the NFL level. There’s maybe 2-3 players on the team that are veterans that came from other teams that can rest. But the young guys need playing time. Last year was different because none of the teams had a preseason. Now everyone is getting one again. I hope these practices get the team ready like a game would.

Was Funchess ever good? He had a nice stretch of games in 2017 but otherwise he was always inconsistent.

I think Cam gets in on his rushing statistics. He had rushing TD numbers that were greater than the best RB's of his era.
