Build up the hope then they kick you in the nuts
PadresPanthersFan replied to mc52beast's topic in Carolina Panthers
At least they gave us enough info for some of us to waste the next 16 weeks doing something else -
No one wanted/wants/will want a rod as our qb. I would not root for him ever

Coker to IR; Renfrow signed to 53
PadresPanthersFan replied to amcoolio's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tbf we lost 2 wr in a couple days. So next men up? -
Just be glad isn't isn't baseball. At least football has a salary cap
 -
Dayum, so it went from a late round pick swap to basically a 4th. Not too bad. First mingo for a 4th and now this. His drafting skills are TBD but he at least so far has some negotiating skills
 -
One would hope the guy we drafted 8th can fill that role
 -
I'm gunna play devils advocate and say he did the opposite He could've retired and we would've gotten nothing. Instead he came back, got us picks, went home and made the vikings pay him 10 million. Hes playing 4d chutes and ladders

A lot of things about this can be true at the same time. Was he our most reliable wr? Yes But he was also injured a chunk of last year, we had to buy him out of retirement, he had 1 foot out the door and the other in minny, we aren't going to the superbowl this year, we only had him for this year, we need to see how our young wr are and we need to see who Bryce really is. Thielen was at most a 3 or 4. Getting the return we did while not eating salary was solid. Thielen put up with this circus for years. We did him right and I wish him thr best in minny

Message to the 2025 Panthers Front Office
PadresPanthersFan replied to CRA's topic in Carolina Panthers
I've seen moore around the NFL for years. He offers nothing dozens of other players can do with 0 upside. Renfrow IMHO offered slightly more with wayyy more upside and reasons to root for him and the team. That being said we are getting upset about a 5th or 6th wr. That also being said he'll probably sign with someone else, ball out and we can all say told you so -

The trade we need to make right now per Enzo Flojo
PadresPanthersFan replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Can we trade nick Scott for him -

Josina Anderson: Panthers NOT trading Adam Thielen
PadresPanthersFan replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
A lot of people imo are over valuing thielen. A 3rd round pick for a 35 year old wr 3/4 with 1 year on his contract and an injury history? Getting a 4th for him would be a coup. We got a pretty good young qb for less ( that we wasted) -

Panthers possibly trading Thielen?
PadresPanthersFan replied to philit99's topic in Carolina Panthers
I dunno. I like thielen as a person and a player and he's been our most reliable option for 2 years. Buuuuuuuut.... We have drafted xl, tmac and horn. We lucked into Coker. We have a couple udfa that could help us We aren't going anywhere this year. Thielen is probably gone after this year. It's a surprisingly difficult choice but I say trade him for what you can get. Let's see what the young pups can do and maybe Renfrow makes the loss easier. If Bryce is dependent on a guy that won't even be here next year then he isn't him. Thielen was at most a 3, maybe a 4 depending on Coker. Let's send him to greener pastures. We still have tmac, Coker, xl, horn, probably moore and renfrow, maybe one of udfa, and 3 young te. Let's keep the youth movement going and see who we have -
I'm gunna probably get pooed for this but to play devils advocate yes the team has been terrible for years. Yes tepper has made a bunch of mistakes. But he is not the worst major sports team owner by a Longshot. For that look at the Sacramento a's or Colorado rockies owners. They are terrible. He made a major mistake with rhule. He tried to use his money and got an "all star " staff with Reich. That was a terrible mistake. He has switched to a fresh faced coach with some limited experience- he's TBD But imo tepper wants to win badly. That's why now he's blowing all his money on udfa and that has at least begun to pay dividends. He still needs to put grass over turf and build a better practice facility but he is trying to win. And from what little I can see he has cut back on his meddling ( he's no Jerry Jones or al davis) he's spending his money, and he wants to win. There are worse things an owner can be. Is he perfect? No way. But he's learning and trying and imo getting better

The Read Optional:Was Bryce Young's leap for real?
PadresPanthersFan replied to lumbeecheraw75's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tbf we just let 2 possible franchise qbs go ( darnold and baker) and passed over 1 in the draft ( stroud) bc of feelings. Feelings matter a lot for this team -

Evero?!?! Should he be on the Hot Seat
PadresPanthersFan replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
Agreed. A good d coordinator makes his players better. Evero has not made the players hes had better. Instead we set records for suck -

Evero?!?! Should he be on the Hot Seat
PadresPanthersFan replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
I have been 0% impressed with evero. His d in Denver was pre built and got better after he left. The d here has gotten worse every year and was historically bad last year. He has picked his guys who have been mostly terrible. He spent most of the offseason on the d. He has 0 excuses and should be on a seat of lava. I honestly don't expect him to make it through the year -
Chuba " the 1 thing Matt rhule did right " continues to be one of the easiest panthers to root for. Hes worked hard and improved every year. He got paid and he's still working like a mad man to get better. You can't teach that. I'm glad he'll be here for years to come
