  1. He has made some very nice throws. Also stare downs galore, holding the ball too long, not knowing he can't depend on being mobile to escape and get a deep ball off, see that stuff too. It doesn't answer, yet, how we are supposed to successfully function on offense inside a 20x53 yard box. Y'all remember trying to hide Cam's weak arm? That is what this will be like at best unless they stretch the field. edit: I did not enjoy watching that kind of football and am afraid that is all we are going to get.
  2. I would not do that deal, unless Tepper told me he would fire me if I didn’t. Seeing as he is probably the reason the big offer for Burns was rejected, I’m thinking Tepper says no to trading his star DE for a trifling WR. We are spending on defense because we have a point guard, anyway. Remember?
  3. I am going to enjoy watching some good football Sunday.
  4. Billboard time is coming. Let’s put Tepper’s damned clown face up everywhere.
  5. I am kind of there too. I think I cut Fitterer slack because of Dan Morgan. I never felt like there was enough evidence that he was behind stuff, when we have a heavy handed meddlesome owner and the previous cosach had control over the roster not the. GM. How are you supposed to be able to judge his performance in that situation. I didn’t want to unfairly place blame. Now, I will fairly place the hell out of some blame. Whoever’s fault this is, it is time for accountability, and every person involved has majorly failed. I am fine with firing all of them. Every single person working on the staff and in the front office. We are like an expansion team, may as well go full new.
  6. Very true. This place, always, has been a place where you might make it through a couple of pages and then it devolves into a shitfest. Really, I used to only open short threads. This deal about the Huddle was a model forum of fanhood discussion is selective memory by people. Again.
  7. Okay Frank I was reading that and getting a deja vu and then I read “horseshoe” and was certain it was an old post of mine. Lol. I always saw it the same way. Russell Wilson owes his wealth to mostly luck and scrappy ‘that’s MY ball’ WRs.
  8. Almost like he is looting the business. Like the mob. Corporate raiders, all those admirable people.
  9. Trying to remember.. I watched a replay that after about our 2nd or 3rd play, skipped the first drive and went to maybe the 1qtr 7:00. First dropback, Ekwanu is driven straight back, overpowered, bam. Great freaking job. He needs to play G I am afraid.
  10. I don’t see anyone considering that he needs a runway to launch a deep ball. Running start with a last second little skip that loads him up to throw. Pro day. Once I identified that, I had seen enough. No reason to keep looking. His size may factor but wasn’t the primary consideration. It is his arm and athleticism that I was skeptical about and with the stakes that high, you just don’t play with fire. I do not understand why pointing this out = hate towards Bryce Young the person. It doesn’t. It could be called hate for the decision makers, yep, but really it is total disdain for their reasoning. A refusal to see negatives because they are too desperate and don’t want to think they should probably wait on selecting their franchise QB.
  11. I’m ready to see him leave but I don’t know why it will help. We have a head on this snake that dictates who will replace him, just be another yes man. Edit: at the same time, you want a GM who will listen to the coaches about players. So I expect that stuff to happen whoever is here.
  12. Oh it’s gonna be so fun watching that, with Bryce as our prize.
  13. Give me an ability to ignore threads, all for it. Maybe it will keep the non realistic people from gumming up actual reality type discussion.
  14. And That really shows the impatience of Tepper at work. One more year, there are the QBs, lining up with your pick. No need to trade anything. I’ll say, if this place is representative of the opinions of the larger fan base, the fans are as guilty of it as Tepper. You are all getting what you wanted. Be happy.
  15. There is the dynamic of getting back some players, along with the normal in season progression where we are expecting and normally see improvement in the units, some players, etc. In general the level of play rises across the league as the season advances. IMO. It won’t be long until Young is no longer a rookie. Past the halfway point and marching onwards towards his sophmore season. That will be here before you know it. Anyhow that is hopefully a bump. The perspective is always changing. So many variables to consider. I will say Brown should have it easier than Reich, just from the natural way of young teams getting better through experience. So won’t be surprised if things tighten up. At least there is something else to observe. Been very tired of the losing with no drama scenario. If we are gonna suck give me some drama somewhere.
  16. That was the first game or something, right? I am not questioning if he trusts them or not because I agree he doesn’t but I think it is himself and the throws he doesn’t trust as much as anything. And he did thread a couple of needles where he normally hesitates and holds the other day so maybe he is finally figuring out he has no choice but to trust them. I still think there are going to be more minuses than plusses with him though, which is unacceptable scouting, evaluation and investing, IMO.
  17. I still say it is more execution based failure than play calling. Though I surely object to the confines of this 20 yard box they play in. Our defense may suck but they have a decent reason, and they at least score.
  18. Appreciate the response. I disagree about this Reich is intentionally sabotaging Young, as much as I can disagree about something. I can’t see that. There is some interesting stuff otherwise.
  19. Saying Reich doesn’t want Young succeed is flat out nonsense. He is tied to him. I hope he didn’t want him, honestly, but all of that stuff should have, and I am pretty would have been worked out after discussing contingencies and strategies prior to deciding the man fit the job of HC- the overseer of development of the new QB era and all that stuff. And if you don’t do that, who is the fool? Is Frank’s heart in it? I don’t know, and would say it doesn’t look like it. Damn though there are 52 other player he is supposed to be looking out for and motivating too and I am not seeing it.
  20. I don’t know who is behind what but I was pretty shocked at the first game. And one of my big rules is do not put stock in the first game as a predictor. Since they went to 3 preseason games, I extended that to the first two games. But what I saw was so different that I had to pay attention. Game one illustrated it wasn’t about winning. Simply an exercise, like preseason. Reps for the kid. Kid gloves for the kid. Really depressing for me, as it foretold what we are in for. I don’t think he is worth it. I don’t want to watch it. It is horrible football by design. Intentional. They are not trying to win they are all about trying to get their college boy up the big boy speed, and I can only assume the leash comes off the entire offense only as the kid can operate it. But it is just unwatchable. If you can’t run an NFL offense, do what Wilks did. Run a 1960s NFL offense. Or put a dude that understands and can functionally operate an NFL offense while going against against an NFL defense, today as opposed to a guy who maybe, after two years, could do that… hopefully. Just put the best team on the field, regardless of draft position, and actually try to win a football game.
  21. I think most people that thought it was easy are the bandwagoning, non deep diving types. I generally look at history when trying to predict stuff, I don’t know that I can think of a team that seamlessly ever just switched with the same players, and killed it. Might be someone somewhere. Anyway, I thought, considering what we were working with, the defense was outstanding early. Better than I expected by at least a couple notches. I don’t know I’d call Evero a disappointment off of these results These guys we are using the secondary, I don’t know of a coach that can will them to win reps against quality NFL targets. Evero, Wilks, hell Vince Lombadri himself couldn’t win with them. .
  22. I’m not saying don’t, if only because I will always prefer a gameday sideline general let’s call it, to oversee things. If having that stuff straight means someone else has to take over a chore, that’s a good chore to take over. I would say, likewise, the playcaller doesn’t need the distraction of running everything else, the whole deal is like recognizing it’s hard to serve two masters. One coach each is better if you have the talent, and maybe both things improve. That would be the hope. I was looking for someone who can elaborate on why we should expect a guy who was a former RB to have more playcalling expertise than I am able to uncover. Everyone seems to feel like that is the problem, that Reich simply is a shitty play caller. I guess. I cannot say that I like this offense, that I agree with the passing design and strategy, from the first game. I was just shocked. It looked like we were going to use actual in season football games simply as exercises for this young green draft pick. Not trying to win. No way did I see urgency to win. Training wheels. I had no idea someone would be so bold as to clearly intentionally sacrifice games to groom a player and I was really concerned about what these people are thinking. Right away. Oing That 5’10” 180 lb slightly built kid looking like the kicker wearing the #9 jersey isn’t giving me much assurance over their thought processes either. Anyhow good luck to coach Brown, for sure. A good play can suck every time if it isn’t run correctly by 11 different guys. It is hard to get those 11 guys all being precise. He was highly involved in designing the offense (right?) and it has looked pretty awful. Not saying it is His fault either, this constant failing we are watching has many fathers. I think the execution sucks, the new playcalls will suck so why will things all of a sudden change? I mean, anything that helps Reich do a better job of managing this team and the game overall, I can’t be against, but I don’t see a savior here and some people seem to think that’s what we are getting. I want to know why they expect it from him. Make me understand why I should expect a better offense just because a new guy calls it a bit differently. They still have to execute.
  23. Guy is a RB coach. Not a QB coach. I don't understand why people have faith in him to be some savant OC when he apparently has played a large role in creating this playbook that no one seems to like but he never gets blamed for. I do not know enough about him too make these kinds of assumptions about his abilities, what are people basing their optimism on, why is he credited as the one that isn't a reason for 0-6, Bryce, etc.? Please explain.
  24. I think it is more like, they know that we don’t believe our OL can protect this QB to where we trust neither.
  25. I would congratulate them for getting something back out of that ‘investment’.
