just because nick files technically started the Super bowl doesn’t mean he was the eagles starter, the eagles rode an mvp season from Carson wentz to the postseason and regressed as he regressed None of the other teams won a super bowl, and again, emphatically, all of them have moved on from those players because they want to have sustained success
-
if you can’t see how the game has changed then maybe the team reddit is more for your caliber of poster
-
You just defined the word desperation don’t shop hungry If you’re going to shill for this then do it and let’s stop trying to play both sides
-
here’s how you build a loser team
-
those guys played in a different of football stop pretending like you like the move
-
no, the original point was that you can’t build a consistent winner with these types of players anymore, you could highlight Denver as an isolated example, which I’ll say is fair, but the problem is that Denver moved on from that guy promptly whereas the panthers just made that guy the face of their team
-
if that’s so, then that player promptly retired because he wasn’t good enough to play in the national football league anymore the panthers just made “that guy” their Franchise
-
nick files is better than Sam darnold and he wasn’t even their starter
-
Their statistical production was nigh identical one was a legend with full mastery of the mental side of the game and still contributed to Denver’s team and a competent offense the other is a never was and one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory who has captained some of the worst offenses in the league not really the same thing
-
I am not sure anyone inside the organization has any idea what they’re doing at this point it feels like doing something was the point
-
lol did you just compare peyton manning to Sam darnold
-
Implicit to your remark is that you aren’t building a consistent winner with this approach i honestly can’t even remember the last time a guts and glory team even won a super bowl in an isolated fashion It doesn’t work anymore, and yet, it’s what we’re hoping to build here
-
“jake type player” isn’t good enough to win Super Bowls anymore
-
This is a win win situation. Yall need to stop trippin

at this point we just have to hope for the best and by best I mean him failing his physical and the deal collapsing -
it isn’t about the picks the loss of draft capital is just a secondary irritation (one that will be made worse when they inevitably go chasing replacement picks) it’s about the team doubling down on the same predictable mistake they just made and bypassing the rare opportunity to acquire a legitimate high end prospect in the draft
-
Absolutely, chances on high end QB prospects are rare.,and given the terrain of the NFC the panthers had quite an opportunity to obtain one and be the only team in the conference with a king term option there instead they’ll chase another failure and hope to defy the odds by turning him into a star (presumably because Matt rhule really liked Sam darnold as a personality from that one time they met on skype)

we were the only ones who wanted sam darnold lol

I meant their actual performance and registered production and not whatever weirdo metric you’re using -
seems sexist if you ask me
-
we were the only ones who wanted sam darnold lol

you mean besides their documented on field performance -
I hate when the team makes predictably terrible moves and forces the lot of you and myself to endure the byproducts of those said decisions despite the obvious consequences being obvious well in advance it’s you abused housewives who line up to lap it down that I feel bad for

this again some of you are some real masochists
