I was realistic with my 3 win prediction. I knew what the Panthers were before they started the season. I'm surprised Young hasn't been broken in half yet I will let you know when they will be good again -

Glad we kept Burns and gave up the rest of the offense to get Bryce Young. Paying off now! -

But I'm told this defense is amazing & is among the championship level units. (If you ignore some key defensive statistics) -

If your teams going to be the worst in the NFL, may as well have the equipment management team headed by Nicole Tepper step their game down too. -

Burns looks great in coverage -
Lamar Jackson, CMC, Jahmyr Gibbs, Garrett Wilson, DJ Moore, Adam Thielen, Michael Mayer, Jake Ferguson & Darnell Washington were there for the taking. Just had to trade Brian Burns for the picks needed to get Lamar & pass on Ekwonu as a project LT. I got slammed for projecting Lamar as the most likely QB to be primed for a SB per data. I was told CMC needed to be traded. I was told a project LT was more important than another playmaking WR. All I heard was the Panthers must draft a QB #1 to be a champion & it was worth giving everything up for Young. I was told Brian Burns would be a playmaker & was more important. Fitterer failed!

Packers go up 30-16 in 4Q & begin to run clock on defense with prevent. Young goes 13/17 for 2 TDs & 177 yards. Young was 10/18 for 0 TDs & 135 yards for the first 3 quarters. Young had 13 seconds on the clock for his last play with 0 timeouts. He held in pocket for 3 seconds & threw the ball over the middle for a 22 yard gain that took 3 seconds to complete the catch after the throw. The entire offense had 5 seconds to sprint & set for a spike. It takes at least 3 seconds to run 20 yards for the average lineman. This leaves 2 seconds on the clock for a spike. It takes 16 seconds to run a play & a spike. This question on a test must be known by every coach & QB. If you don't have at least 3 seconds on the clock from when the ball is spotted, the spike will not happen. Tabor & Young failed on this management. This will seperate champions from teams that stay home for the playoffs. The correct decision with 13 seconds on the clock was 2 quick sideline throws for 10-15 yard routes & a final Hail Mary if not in FG range. A QB padding his stats against a prevent down by 2 scores in the 4Q & flunking the final drive test is never impressive. It's not a sign of a championship caliber QB. The expectation for Young in an NFL game would be Young from the first 3 quarters with his lack of clutch management from the 4th quarter. You have to throw out garbage/prevent stats at the end of game. It's the decisions, clock management & consistent clutch throws that matter at 4Q comeback time for an NFL QB. Investing another 2 years in a QB like Young losing with his occasional well timed highlight pass against prevent is where this is headed.

Care to tell me the top 3 things that any QB should not do in the last minute of a 1 score game while trailing & facing a prevent defense with 0 timeouts? We all know the answer.

Wilks & Darnold were better than Tabor & Young in the same situation. Tabor mismanaged the clock in 4Q. Young knew he had to go for the sideline & was baited to throw deep over the middle to run clock. He took the easy throw the Packers wanted him to throw. This is what makes the difference between a team that can produce NFL GWD & the teams that need a coach/QB at a championship level. Going to lose 97% of the time with coaching & passing decisions like that in the 4Q when trailing in 1 score games. We all know this & would be slamming Kerry Collins, Steve Beuerlein, Jake Delhomme & Cam Newton for the same decisions on good teams. Bridgewater, Darnold & Mayfield were called out for coming up short like Young did & throwing deep over the middle with no timeouts against a prevent. What is different here? Seems like desperation for some hope among losing expectations.

Did the wide receivers magically get good?

It was a Packers inexperienced secondary with a rookie starting. They gave up the underneath all day long. Receivers were open most every play. -

Success against an umbrella zone D while trailing? That's not anything to hang your hat on. Especially against a bad defensive team starting a rookie DB for the first time this season. Anthony Johnson should have been abused all game. -

Young, Hubbard, Tremble, Thielen, Chark & Smith-Marsette are definitely among the best in the NFL among offenses. Championship material. ... if champions didn't have to produce GWD with clutch consistency. How many GWD opportunities are you going to give an NFL QB before you realize they just can't do it? 5, 15, 45? -

If only WRs could get open for Young... Or maybe they are & it's not the WRs -
That's why the Panthers spend all the draft capital & free agency on passing offense. Paying off for the past 3 years. All according to plan!

Playing Steve Wilks ball. Could have done this with Darnold
-
That was an awful duck. Good job Mingo

Young still coming up empty on clutch downs? Another 4Q GWD opportunity & it doesn't look like Young really wants to take a game over when he's needed by his team to carry a close game on the line.

Teppers, Belichick & Saban all hanging out in the owners box acting as Co-GMs with Bill O'Brien as HC. Teppers going to hand them some minority ownership. Bryce Young as their 20 year franchise QB taking them into their 90s. This is the future of the Panthers in a few years. -
Laiatu Latu, Jer'Zhan Newton, Jeremiah Trotter Jr. The one that falls out of 1st. Too early. Still building final lists/boards.
