I hope we do bring in a bunch of them. More chances to find a diamond in the rough. Our coaches are big on development, so let's see what they can do. I have always felt like our practice squad was almost solely for practice bodies. I want to see some guys develop and get brought up.

I feel like an OL and CB are almost certain and maybe two on OL. Depending on where they are picked possibly a Safety, TE, LB (would have to be a high pick like Parsons) or second CB.

I agree unless we do something similar to what the Dolphins did. Move down to 20 get maybe 3 or 4 picks then ship one or two of those out to move back up 4 or 5 spots.

I don't see anything else on this except from this guy. That said, prior to his current gig he had a long time running sports show in Milwaukee and now has has a show in Madison. Could be just trying to generate clicks.

Correct, he doesn't have to be but he said he could be. And I don't see that as him trying to be a talent evaluator. If half of the staff is saying they want Fields and the other half is saying they want someone else then it's really him him imposing his philosophy that the QB is that important. Most people would agree that Belichick is the best Coach ever but he apparently shouldn't be choosing WRs in the draft. No reason to think we should trust Rhules judgement on a QB over our other talent evaluators, he already signed off on Bridgewater and that wasn't a good decision.

Exactly. I haven't heard anyone bashing Seattle for getting Tavaris Jackson, Charlie Whitehurst, Matt Flynn and Russell Wilson. What the say is, Seattle kept collecting QBs until they found the right one.

I agree but listen to all the so called 'experts'. Reports are Shanahan want Jones and Lynch wants Lance. A lot of people think Fields may fall while some can't fathom how he's not second or third among the QBs. Some of it is truly a guessing game. I don't want a Jerry Jones type either, just saying if it's a split decision and Tepper says he wants to QB, it's almost like a 50/50 chance.

Tepper also said he can be the tie breaker.

Because you don't know. There have been half a dozen threads about how most QBs drafted in the first round don't work out. We don't know if Darnold can be the guy. If we draft fields, we don't know if he can be the guy. If we have them both, make them compete. If we pick up Darnolds option then we can trade one next year. I get the wasted draft pick thing, I thought they gave up a bit much but they are trying to find the guy. Until you know you have him you keep searching. That said, I'd take Sewell or trade back or take Slater. But I get it.

Drafting Fields shouldn't factor in. Fields could bust and then what? Pick up the option and if you draft Fields you have two years to find out if either can be a franchise QB.

Did I just miss it? I've seen that reported twice. That's not what I heard him say. He said there was a plan in place and they would execute that plan after the draft. Not, that they'd make the decision. I've seen some speculation that there was something different they can do with how his money is paid out.

But he can bite those knees.

Eh, maybe if he had more than a year on his deal. They'll either lose him or pay him$20m per year. Makes sense for them, not for us in my opinion.

The other part of this is if we trade down so another team can draft Fields, it increases the likelihood of Denver taking Teddy off our hands.

I don't want a QB before the 4th round. We need 2 OL and a CB in the first three. Unless we net an extra pick in a trade down.

I thought the same thing. I wonder how you would apply that to Lance. FCS school but perennially the top FCS school.
