NFL Playoffs Divisional Round - Games Thread

Wow horrible non call by the refs there -
Pretty confident its gonna be Dan Morgan GM

Yeah I read and immediately responded to it with quotation. Because ironically Wilks was better than who Tepper brought in with his holier than thou decision making. Morgan has the pedigree to be GM and was there to establish the successful years in Seattle and the Bills program with Allen. And the man obviously wants to be here and see the Panthers win because he was one. You guys are full of poo on this one. -

Yeah but Wilks had us a JC Horn injury away from the playoffs. And Reich allegedly had all the answers with an all star staff and proved to be a loser. -

You don’t think being GM of the team you established your all time place in the NFL has anymore significance than an other job around the league? You know it does. I have a feeling Dans wanted this job for a long time. It’s the same reason Wilks here as HC would be a different coach elsewhere. Dan was Luke before Luke, he was an incredibly smart player. If he interviews well and has a sound plan for the team I’m all for giving him a shot. -

I’d like to give Dan a shot. He was an all pro MLB and is a smart guy. He’s also life long Panther. He wants to see us succeed. -
Young seems like a good teammate and by all accounts might be an amazing QB in his mind. I’m rooting for him but the pick really reeks of Tepper wanting to go against the grain and put his stamp on the team as some genius outlier living vicariously through his outlier #1 pick. Stroud would have fit with Reich, he would have fit even better with the team Wilks was leading and molding us into. But alas we had to be dumbasses and outsmart ourselves. I want to see the Young that showed up against Green Bay for at least 10 games next year. Otherwise he is a bust.

That was the best game Cam ever played. That was what the rest of his career should have been if not for POS KB and TJ Watt. I also blame Clay for dropping that TD pass. Cam > Brees -
Dude you have to make that catch
-
Wow the Eagles have totally fallen off.
-
Will be nuts if the refs rig it for the Rams last minute. That stadium will go berserk. Also damn Stafford just took a wicked lick.
-
Go lions!
-
What an epic meltdown. This might be end of Dak as the franchise QB and McCarthys job.
-
Looks like Cam is right once again

It’s incredible all the money and “analytics” that goes into this bullshit just to bear witness to us outsmarting ourselves. The choice was so blatantly obvious to take Stroud. It just reeks of Tepper trying to put his “I’m a genius” stamp on the team by taking Young. In order for Young to be worth the trade he literally has to be THE statistical outlier for a QB his size and needs to be damn close to a hall of famer.
-
I wanted Stroud and I’m not blind to the criticisms of Bryce Young but he can throw it more than 40 yds. His problem is velocity and confidence.

I think Brady may have what it takes at LT. Would like to not spend draft capital on a tackle this year. We really need some speedy weapons.

I'd be open to trading Theilen and Jackson. Donte stayed healthy this year and his value is probably not going to get any higher. Would be great if we could get a 3rd for each of them. -
I agree with your sentiment about Moore but Smitty is without question a better player. Smith’s peak is only eclipsed by TO, Moss, CJ, and AB.
-
Coaching hires are always a momentum swing. If we sign Johnson he won’t do anything here. He’s riding the coattails of a lions team that bought into the HC. Last years squad bought into Wilks. He won the hearts of the team and had the momentum to make a statement as HC this year. Wilks here in Carolina is a different Wilks elsewhere.
-
Bring back Wilks, resign Cam. Draft BPA.

89 is probably the most underrated WR all time. If you look at how little he was targeted verses his contemporaries it’s not hard to imagine he would have broken records if he got to play with Manning, Warner, or Brady in his prime.

I'd to look into the multiverse and see the world where Chark, Mingo, and Sullivan catch the passes they dropped. We had an alarming number of throws dropped that would have saved drives and likely changed games. I think a lot of those plays would have given Bryce the momentum to play more confidently. Right now he plays like he has something to lose.
