  1. Comparing Bryce Young to Tua's durability is ill-informed. Tua reportedly had 5 surgeries during his time at Alabama. Bryce missed 1 game as a starter. People talk about CJ Stroud's game vs Georgia. Go watch Bryce Young vs Georgia in the 2021 SEC championship game. Georiga's defense had Jordan Davis, Travon Walker, Kelee Ringo, Nakobe Dean, Jalen Carter, Devonte Wyatt, Quay Walker, Lewis Cine, and Nolan Smith. These are 9 players that are or will be top 100 selections in the NFL draft. The Georgia defense entered the SEC championship game allowing just 230.4 yards and 6.9 points per game. Young set the SEC championship game records for total offense and passing yards against them. The final score was 41-23, Alabama. I rather the Panthers go with the most accomplished and polished QB prospect in Bryce Young or the highest ceiling at QB in Anthony Richardson. I'm fine with Stroud, but he doesn't play the position of QB better than Young. He is a solid and safe pick for those who have concerns about Young's frame and Richardson's low floor but very high ceiling.
  2. My concern with Stroud is whether he can elevate the play of those around him. I think he could flourish on a team like the Falcons that already have a Drake London and Kyle Pitts or Chris Olave and Michael Thomas to throw to. After Harrison JR went out against GA, their offense began to stall a bit. I think Young has the strongest body of work and played in the toughest conference college football has to offer. Also, playing in a pro-style offense with a former NFL HC, Bill O'Brien as his OC. I'm concerned about his size. However, of all the QB prospects he plays the position (accuracy, processing speed, toughness, etc.) the best. I'm fine with Stroud at No.1 I just haven't seen anything besides his frame that makes him the better prospect.
  3. Cornerstone player for this franchise. He had probably the toughest baptize-with-fire moment any rookie LT can have by facing Myles Garrett, the best 4-3 DE in the NFL, week 1.
  4. I think Bryce Young is the best QB in the draft and the best prospect at QB since Lawrence. His height and weight are a concern. However, his processing, pocket awareness, accuracy, and toughness against the best level of competition you can play against outside the NFL, the SEC, speaks volumes. The problem with Ohio State is I've seen Cardale Jones, Dwayne Haskins (threw 50 TDs his last year at OSU), Justin Fields throw for 40 plus TDs and complete 70% of their passes, then look completely inept and unprepared for the NFL. There is an overwhelming advantage that OSU has at the skill positions that makes it hard to evaluate their QBs. I say pull the trigger on Young and continue to invest in the Oline.
  5. Secondary wasn't an issue at. It's the run defense that consistently put the Browns in 3rd and favorable situations. They had 210+ rushing yards and 38 mins in possession.
  6. DJ can't catch a ball if he has to jump or go to the ground. That first offensive drive is on him.
  7. Lost seemed eerily similar to Vikings and Cowboys game. Couldn't stop the run, which opened up play action and bootleg. Special teams was bad too. Kickoffs were short and didnt pin them inside 20 on punts.
  8. I watched a replay. After DJ gained a step on the DB, the DB immediately runs afer DJ and grabs him with at least a full second and 15 yards before the ball lands. The ball was a tad bit underthrown. Yet, I like that there was no hesitation in throwing the ball deep. I also think DJ can do a better job of not indicating to DB that ball is coming his way. In the first 8-10 yards of the route, he is already turning his head to look for the ball. It played a part in the DB frantically running after DJ and committing the PI.
  9. Panthers Offensive line is the worst unit in football and combine it with a turnover machine at QB recipe for disaster. The defense will soon or if they haven't already turn on the offense. On a side note Sam has throw three medicine balls in consecutive weeks. One to Terrace Marshall that knocked him out for 2 weeks with a concussion. Robby against Atlanta, now DJ today. All 3 have the same pattern of a late pass across middle of field.
  10. How bad is Brady Christensen if he can't start over Denis Daley at Guard or LT?
  11. I agree ball was late. Tendency with Darnold is he holds onto the ball too long and is slow with his progressions. On a side note I do understand the gripe of our no.1 and no.2 receivers not making plays unless the ball is thrown between the numbers with no defender in sight.
  12. 1st drive - Hubbard fumble, short field to Falcons, defense holds them to 3 points 2nd drive- DJ misses key block on Shi Smith screen and does not secure catch on would be TD. FG 4th drive- Ian Thomas hold on Hubbard run that would have put them at Falcons 25. FG 5th drive- Tommy Tremble can't secure catch on corner route that would have put them at Falcons 35. Much talk has been made about Joe Brady, which is warranted, but players have to execute on the plays that put them in position to succeed.
  13. That is why I don't put too much blame on Rhule and Brady. Their best offensive player is rarely on the field and their suppose no.1 and no.2 receivers play like scrubs.
  14. Cam > Bridgewater, PJ Walker, Sam Bradford Rookie CMC > Chubba Hubbard, Mike Davis, Reggie Bonnafon Greg Olsen > Ian Thomas, Dan Arnold, Tommy Tremble Ryan Kalil > Matt Paradis Trai Turner > John Miller Andrew Norwell > Denis Daley, Michael Jordan, Pat Eflein Ted Ginn < DJ Moore Devin Funchess < Robby Anderson Shula had far better talent to work with than Joe Brady. Particularly at the positions that matter the most, QB and OL. Until I comparable talent at least at OL, I can't judge Brady too harshly.
  15. I agree with running the ball. Have to limit amount of mistakes. Lost the Eagles game with the 3 interceptions from Darnold. Then Vikings turned it over inside territory twice. Defense is good enough to shut down Giants offense without Barkley and Goliday playing. Offense has to sustain drives and give defense long field to work with.
  16. I still have faith in Rhule. Players have to do better. Darnold throws interception after having 8 seconds to throw. Multiple drops by our No.1 and No.2 receiver. Star RB has played 6 of the 22 games he has coached. I will give it another year.
  17. Need Juston Burris and Myles Hartsfield to come back. Franklin and Chandler are backups
  18. Who the hell is #73. Worse than Daley, yet dont want to try Brady Christensen at LG?
  19. Doesn't matter if we got Slater. Its the interior play that is truly abysmal. Daley and Miller both gave up sacks. Miller had a false start and hold as well.
  20. Sam Darnold has probably thrown 4 picks the last 2 weeks inside own territory. Outside of the deep ball given up by Sam Franklin, the defense held its own. Factor in a punter that averages 39 yards per punt, we dont put defense in advantageous situations, last couple of weeks.
  21. Very winnable games. My concern is some of those teams have quality DL like Fletcher Cox, Danielle Hunter, Matthew Judon, etc. Could end up losing to an inferior opponent because offensive line folds.
  22. Yea poor on Rhule to not play Field position. Gonzalez can't even boot kicks to the endzone during kickoffs. Don't put him out there for anything more than a 45-48 yard field goal. Also time to accelerate development of Brady Christensen and Deonte Brown. Your QB won't last the season at this rate, making Randy Gregory look like an all-pro
  23. Panthers offense must sustain some drives or will get our defense gassed. Cowboys run game looks good tonight.
