General 1st Round Draft Discussion
imminent rogaine replied to The Huddler's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pics or it didn’t happen -
I believe it. I remember Shonn Green taking one right up the gut for every bit of two and half yards.

5-11 was better than most of us had predicted. The entire defense left. The QB was new and the college coaching staff had to transition to a new, professional team, during a pandemic. And our GM was an incompetent turd hellbent on racking up as much dead cap as he could year after year after year. I’m Optimistic that they can make it easy for Sam. With Robbie, DJ, and CMC lining up as serious threats, I think this is done by plugging all the other gaping holes - most importantly Left Tackle. Keep Sam upright and on time. Don’t be too proud to lean on passes to CMC.

On the field, he kind of reminds me of our old friend #76...

Interesting 1st RD mock firm bleacher report
imminent rogaine replied to raleigh-panther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Would be my optimal draft. I want to trade down. I want to draft Darrisaw. -
What would you give up to trade up to 4?

Teddy Bridgewater and a 3rd round pick from next year. Take it or leave it. -

Today’s NFL makes this slightly more plausible. Hollywood Brown type guys. Better be fast and better make most of your catches over the top. These guys wouldn’t have made it through a quarter of football 15 years ago. 30 years ago, they’d have been in the morgue.

I just invested $3.99 in one about 20 minutes ago. I hope the billing is discrete like they claim.

New one after we signed a DT. Traded back twice but I only dealt with 2021 picks. Probably my last one before the draft. I didn’t get a few of the guys I always get but I would definitely take this. 16. Samuel Cosmi OT 39. Kelvin Joseph CB 49. Richie Grant S 96. Cameron McGrone LB 104. Adrian Ealy OT 120. Aaron Banks OG 151. Trey Hill C 160. Rodarius Williams CB 193. Semi Fehoko WR 222. Luke Ferrell TE

Hidden Gem on Day 3? Simi Fehoko, WR from Stanford
imminent rogaine replied to blueandblackattack's topic in 2015 NFL Draft
Was flying on that little screen. In those few clips it sure looks like he can fight through contact for contested balls. If he can do that once in a panther uniform, it would be one more time than Funchess and Samuel did combined. -
Meh. Potato salad? That seems Midwestern. They didn’t try very hard here. Get someone not named Balboni to take him out for some real southern food. Real Pork BBQ - East, West, and that mustard poo which is actually kind of good, fried okra, some greasy ass Collards, maybe put him in a diabetic coma with a cheerwine and a moonpie for dessert. edit: okay okay,I retract the KB dig. She is from Southern Pines, apparently. She gets a pass.

Don’t think perryman is more than a bandaid upgrade over Whitehead. I’ve said this before but I like the value of Cam McGrone in the 3rd as a traditional MLB. I would love to find an LB that excels in coverage that could maybe take over for Shaq after a year - but with the amount of needs we have, that is a luxury. Shaq is a good, valuable, vet, and really any issues with him stem directly from his contract. unfortunately we had been counting on him being more than that for a long time and it just never happened.

Teams ranked by the last 5 drafts
imminent rogaine replied to ladypanther's topic in Carolina Panthers
Really? I don’t think I could disagree more. The obvious issue was the Kalil signing but I really think JR had a hand in that. Norwell, Ginn, Mitchell, Oher, Coleman and Tillman were all excellent signings. There were quite a few decent ones like Love, Allen, Harper, cotchery, and Florence and Finnegan as well. I guess Boykin and Shepard kind of sucked but I don’t think their contracts really hurt us. DG’s strength, mAybe the only strength, was pro scouting. He has a career built on it. -

Little and Grier were both terrible. Gaulden was terrible. And then going back Armanti and Pickles were both inexcusable. It wasn’t just a whiff when Hurn-dog missed it was a catastrophe. I really never felt that way about DG’s picks. I guess at least with his misses, I could understand the logic. The one I didn’t care for was Funchess but I still understood their thinking. -
I’d take that one right now

I agree with what you’ve got here and I am now even more sure that we have to hit on a DT. I’ll add that some of the areas where we are good (wr, c, entire LB corp, G, even RT) are adequate right now this year but likely could be a hole next year. Paradis is as good as gone, Moton is up in the air, so are Shaq and Robbie. I wouldn’t skip out on those positions just because we are good at the moment. LB would still make the list for a need for me either an actual MLB or a coverage guy to replace Shaq next year.
