Why is PJ Walker EVEN on the team?
SmokinwithWilly replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah. Let's not develop our 3rd round pick so we can trade PJ gor a conditional 2024 7th. -
Matt Rhule in a 40 and feeling frisky t shirt complete with Gatorade stain in the post game presser.

WR Competition-How many do we Keep? Who gets Cut?
SmokinwithWilly replied to Michael G's topic in Carolina Panthers
He didn't miss him, just figures him to be on IR week 1 -
Normally I would agree but Jordan at guard is scarier than Elflein
-
Excellent content. Hadn't thought about the Baker/Bozeman connection being used on 1's and 2's so they're developing chemistry. Still wish we would get the whole starting lineup working together. You're right. Having Jordan as the starting LG is still a bit shocking.

Training Camp Wednesday 8-10 Discussion
SmokinwithWilly replied to rayzor's topic in Carolina Panthers
Part if that had to do with Goodell as well. Scheduling our season opener against Denver then letting them tee off on Cam again. While I don't think that was the all inclusive reason, it was a clear message to the rest of the league that the rules didn't apply to Cam. It was just one of many things that didn't go our way. -
Looks like a list you would find during an Shenanigan's training video.

Never underestimate the Rhule factor. He has made some of the most baffling personnel moves I have seen on this team. -

ESPN 8 The Ocho had Panthers coverage last weekend
SmokinwithWilly replied to PanthersATL's topic in Carolina Panthers
Who here had actually heard of the Ocho before the movie Dodgeball. Edit: Didn't realize it started in 2017. Still Jason Bateman would be a better commentator than most of the guys on ESPN now. -
Simms is right on the money re the competition
SmokinwithWilly replied to top dawg's topic in Carolina Panthers
You'll see it when regular season comes and you have these things happen more often than normal. Snap miscues, timing issues on routes, blocking assignments being missed, wasted timeouts, RB handoffs missed, etc. These are all timing issues and being used to playing with the guy next to you. It's not just Baker, the oline needs time too. But hey. Sam didn't really need to play in the preseason last year because TC was enough. Until it wasn't and our offense became more impotent than an 18 year old at a senior citizens nudist camp. -

The coddling was more about him not playing in preseason than just being named starter. -

No. It's just a other instance of dozens where the huddle is going to be right and Rhule will be wrong. Again. -

I remember TD knocking Romo out -
That was his big concern coming out of college. That much weight on the knees and ankles is just brutal. I was 375 at one time and in a poo ton of pain and once I dropped 125, the relief was immense.
-
The only reason is he has game experience and that is worth something, albeit not much. If we carry 3 QBs it makes sense to keep him over Walker. If some team loses their starter during the year, they may be desperate enough to trade a future late rounder for him. That's all I've got.
-
At this point, Baker should be 1 and Darnold and Corral should be competing for 2. We have several ridiculous camp competitions going on right now. Get your 1s practicing together. New center and new QB is going to take some time for rhythm and trust to develop. Enough with the college shenanigans.

Johnathen Taylor for Cmac ? (Fantasy)
SmokinwithWilly replied to Leotiger's topic in Carolina Panthers
If I'm playing keeper league, I'm keeping JT over CMC. I know CMC is more potential in a PPR but has less value in standard scoring. 4 years until CMC hits the 30 wall too. Depends on if you see yourself moving on from JT soon -
We are desperate. It takes time for these guys to learn and trust each other. You can't just plug and play wherever and expect it to work flawlessly. We have potentially 4 new starters on our OL. I like BC. He's a tackle, not a guard. He should have played LT last year but he didn't get the opportunity. Now we have 2 guys at LT. Ickey needs to start if you plan on him being the LT of the future. BC needs to work as swing tackle if he's not going to start. He's not an IOL. This BS of making guys earn their spot is comical. This isn't Vince Papalli and the Eagles. You drafted the best offensive lineman in the draft, by FO opinion, and he has to earn his spot? C'mon. This isn't Rhule hate. This is just fuging stupid and pathetic moves by a college coach.

Hopefully it helps. It doesn't take a huge hit to cause severe brain damage. The right position of the body and your spine and neck can't bend to absorb impact, then that small hit amplifies dramatically. Think about the stick you use to toss a ball for your dog and how much more force you can generate from the same amount of effort. Same thing can happen with your head. Unfortunately I know to much about this from personal experience.
