  1. This is what it reeked of from the very start. Watson pays for sexual acts, creepy and weird but he’s no rapist
  2. What do you think the timeline is now that the criminal side of it is known. Before the draft? As soon as like early next week?
  3. Those worried about the Bucs getting him can feel at ease. They are $10M over the cap and their starting center, cornerback, tight end, RG, DT, RB and safety are all free agents. Not to mention their elite starting guard Marpet just retired. Good luck with that.
  4. Yes but not for the reported trade value he has
  5. DJ has more value than that, so I would pass.
  6. Theoretically having Watson could give us a better chance to draw the best HC candidate here next year... wonder if Harbaugh would come here to coach him but with no draft capital
  7. I’m fine with the picks, adding elite players who each would be worth a couple first rounders themselves is completely absurd. And that’s in a scenario where the player doesn’t have issues. Even if Watson is cleared and able to play soon this stuff will follow him his whole career and as we saw win the me too movement it can come back to haunt him at any time. We’ll be in the playoffs 3 years from now and another one will come out with more specifics and draw a media storm to the point where he’s immediately on commissioners exempt list and our season is over. It’s just stupid to even consider trading that many assets for a guy with those issues following him around, no matter how good a QB he is.
  8. I, like anyone else, would be generally excited about getting a QB of his caliber. However if we give up that for this frigging dude I will physically puke and likely not spend a penny on the NFL this year. Not because of the off field issues, I can put those aside and focus on football. But because a move like that would sink this team for a damn decade or more when he winds up suspended indefinitely or in prison. Tepper is the worst owner in pro sports. And yes I know Dan Snyder is still around, my point stands.
  9. might be able to toss him into the Watson trade by adding another asset to it (mid round pick?). It's just 1 year of cap space taken up so for any bad teams not contending who have cap space (like the Texans) it's not a bad move to take his contract to get a pick.
  10. No thanks he'll just be more of the same trash we've had the last 2 years
  11. I'm not sure Seattle is more desirable than us right now. They are in clear blow it up rebuild mode and don't even have much draft capital and while Carroll is still around he'll almost certainly be retiring soon. Neither is a good situation but I can see someone like Watson preferring us over Seattle right now.
  12. Worth noting Wentz was an MVP caliber QB several years back before his injury. He was likely the favorite that year if he didn't get hurt. I think this is more Rivera taking a shot on seeing if he can get back to that level. I don't think there's any chance he can and clearly the Colts already tried and moved on from him quickly, but I can see some of the logic in going for Wentz independent of this QB class.
  13. Such a weird QB environment. You've got teams like the Lions and Seahawks willingly trading away elite franchise QBs. And then you've got teams actually giving up assets for dog poo scrubs like Wentz, us with Darnold, etc.
  14. All can be coached up hence the project label. Arm strength, speed, etc. cannot be coached up, missing those or off field issues would be red flags
  15. "Massive red flags" huh? He's a boom/bust project and definitely risky but there are no red flags I know of.
  16. I hope this is true. I initially liked Pickett a bit but the more I've researched these QBs the only one I really care for this draft is Willis. Still don't want him in the top 10 though, prefer OL there. Trade down or trade a roster player to get another pick and take Willis mid/late 1st, then hell yeah.
  17. Redskins game, I was at it and couldn’t believe it. But that’s one game his rookie year, he’s a great #1 receiver and not easily replaceable. One can argue though we should prioritize QB and OL first and if that means trading DJ to get help there sooner, then fine
  18. but they don't have any significant strengths either and their coaching staff is a question mark to me. I think they'll immediately be a locked in playoff team but not sure they're contending for a SB in the next couple years. There's 2 teams in their division I'd take ahead of them...
  19. Fair but it's been clear for a while now he wanted out of Seattle, point is if they didn't trade him he was going to leave anyways in FA or make things ugly. There was way too much smoke there the last few years. Team had no choice, the crying fans don't understand that. They should be upset with him for forcing his way out of there.
  20. Russ is a great QB, a bit overrated but definitely a franchise guy. But he wanted out and they were likely to lose him for nothing, his celebrity wife didn't want to be in Seattle any more. It's a trade they had to make. And Pete Carroll is old, yes, and he's had Russ most of his coaching career, but he's still a great coach. I think they still compete for a wild card spot next season. Seahawks fans are a bunch of crybabies who've been spoiled by their last decade of success and SB win and appearance.
  21. Thomas isn't a great blocker and Manhertz got 2 years $6M, that's nearly half as much as Thomas got...
  22. haha yep I was losing it that draft night when we picked DJ of Ridley seemed so stupid at the time. Glad I was wrong, not that it's mattered anyways with how bad we've been
  23. He's very replacement level though and we just drafted Tremble who showed a lot of promise. It's not as bad as it initially seemed and I understand the TE market but I just don't understand why it was a priority to re-sign him. I don't think he would've gotten this deal on the open market.
