  1. Surprised but pleased to see so many LB ‘s on the (nice) list and that their grades are actually high.
  2. The defense of Gruden is wild to me. I don’t know anything about racist stuff. I heard the reason he resigned was when it came out he said misogynistic and homophonic things. Sounds like a bit of a jerk and in my opinion his analysis was never that good anyways. Not like I was clamoring to hear what this guy had to say. Also, part of what came out was he said players who protested during games should be fired, including Carolina Panther Eric Reid. So this guy was about as pro cancel culture as you get. None of this is huge. I’m not saying he is the worst person. but seems weird that people on a Panthers message board are defending a mediocre media personality who is pro cancel culture, coached a decision rival, and tried to get one of our players cancelled. Then on top of it said some ignorant stuff about gay people.
  3. DJ Johnson seems a little overrated to be honest. Even at 71
  4. This is what I keep going back and forth on. If it’s pure merit, there is no way Coker isn’t on the team, but Horn and Moore offer more on special teams
  5. This is a good point I think. What concerned me about Coker is that he was a little redundant whereas some of lesser receivers may carve out a spot for themselves on special teams. I think you are right though, if Tet or Legette go down he is next man up.
  6. So, it has come up that this board is t as active as it used to be and that media coverage isn’t what it used to be. I for one have been disappointed by coverage of training camp. (And before some jag off tells me to get on TikTok, let me tell you: I am on TikTok and the fact that you think that constitutes coverage shows you how impoverished we are when it comes to training camp coverage) Anywho, thought I’d try to generate some questions I have been interested in. No ground breaking insights from me but curious to hear what others think. WINNERS Hunter Renfrow- sounds like he was expected to be on the bubble and looks like he has defied expectations to be at the top of the group. Almost certain he makes the team. Might be the number three receiver. Jimmy Horn- drafted late and seemed like he was the type of player we would sign to PS. Now it seems like he is on the inside with reliably solid play, likely contributor on special teams, and as-advertised speed. Turk Wharton: everything I hear about him is that he has exceeded expectations. Sounds like with Brown and Robinson being held out, he has run with the ones and performed well. I was particularly glad to hear he did well in run support as I thought he was brought in more as a pass rusher. Bryce Young- looks like he is going to continue his trajectory of modest improvement. The real reason he makes the list is that it seems we have gotten a pretty significant upgrade at the wr and rb positions with the above players looking promising he looks to have a decent jump in production. LOSERS ryan Fitzgerald - seems like the job was wide open and he has not taken advantage of the opportunity. jalen Coker - with Jimmy horn snd Renfrow standing out, I think his role may be in jeopardy. I thought he would for sure be a big part of the offense after last year but as I pick our top six wr, he is looking like he is on the bubble more than I thought he’d be. Suddenly I think the wr is a bit crowded. Nic scourton- being purposely harsh a bit but I think our EDGE situation is a bit crowded with wonnum, jones, and prince. I think they lean towards the vets to start and I’ve heard highlights from Prince. Again, way to early, I was just hoping to hear more about him standing out and I’ve heard nothing. It’s also a little crowded. Fans- Training Camp just isn’t what it used to be. Less reporting, less access, less enthusiasm.all evidenced by me starting this topic instead of someone who knows what they are talking about. WANT TO HEAR MORE FROM honestly scourton and Coker should really be here for me. Want to generally hear more about our young guys. These two in particular Pat Jones- one of our bigger signings. Has promise but heard nothing. Really interested in how edge plays out as we’ve invested a lot there and have, in my view four potential starters for two spots. Wondering how the snaps get shared. Ransom-was high on him when we drafted him. Safety is a big need so I’m excited to see how it shakes out. what do you think? Who has helped themselves? Hurt themselves? You’d like to hear more about? Sorry you are hearing from me and not someone better, but it’s been quiet so thought I’d float this out to see what others thought
  7. I only knew part of this. Good lord that’s dumb
  8. Thanks for posting! I was wondering why there wasn’t a thread! Anyone from the huddle go? Have any observations? I live out of state and so always appreciate getting to read highlights from training camp. It is the Hopeful time of year.
  9. Lester Townes was the first I thought of but he is lb.
  10. Really dig this. As an educator, I always love hearing grown-@$$ adults talking about and thinking about how they learn and what strategies they develop to serve their learning styles. Good stuff.
  11. I'm more interested in completion percentage and YPA (and wins of course), than yards or touchdowns. It's not too hard to imagine Young throwing for 3,900 yards in an abstract way. What is harder to imagine is who those yards are going to. That would probably require two 1000 pass catchers on our team. I don't know that we have two 1000 receivers on this team.
  12. I like the hits, but I gotta say, I get pretty nervous when a cornerback’s highlight reel doesn’t show him actually covering receiver.
  13. This is getting to the point in the draft where teams start picking players that may not make the team. But it’s also I place where you can still find real talent. I hope we don’t get cute and instead go True BPA. Would be great if that were a position of need like ilb or S (I like stutsman at ilb) but I’m fine with OL, DT, RB, TE, WR, CB so long as it’s good value for where we pick.
  14. Thanks for sharing. But pretty cringe. Love the last scourton video though
  15. What's up with Will Johnson falling?Injury concerns?
  16. what does this mean for Graham falling? I figured jags would pick him at their original spot. does this just mean, browns will take him when they pick?
  17. I hate that we are broadcasting this. This is like that snotty kid you knew in 3rd grade being like “My lunch is gross…wanna trade?” No Aiden. No one wants to trade their pizza for your nasty wheat germ and nutritional yeast flake sandwich. especially not after you told us how it gives you hives and smells like balls. we should be telling people how excited we are to have such a good pick. We are in the perfect position to pick any number of amazing players. I don’t want to hear anything from Morgan unless it is how valuable the 8th pick is.
  18. I’d give this post two pies if I could. Really solid write up. I also really like the pick. Golden is my top wr in the draft and honestly is better at wr than most edge players are at edge. I like grant too. This is pretty much the draft I want
  19. I would prioritize protecting Bryce and giving him stability. I’m in favor of drafting a tackle early but doubt a rookie will be much better this year than Moton and I don’t think the picks we’d get in return would be worth it. I say keep moton and keep an eye on BPA. If we see really good value at ot in rounds 2 or 3, grab them, but I wouldn’t trade Moton.
  20. Honestly, if 10 rookies made the team, that’s a damn good draft.
  21. first round mock is trash. Not because the Stewart pick is trash (though it is), but because the explanation is basically an admission that they don’t watch tape or know what they are talking about.
  22. Pie for using the word “blossoms” twice in one post.
  23. Honestly, every year I watch less closely as I think they are less and less informative of how successful a player will be. Combine superstars who go on to have successful in the pros usually already had success in college. But curious to hear what other people are looking for. Some people have a more discerning eye than I do.
