  1. I don’t really get tied to draft prospects anymore. Trade down/OL is my preference.
  2. Na, thats a bad comparison. Darnold has four year body of work that shows he isn’t the guy you want. Even his first three games hardly moved the needle to say otherwise.
  3. But it still doesn’t change the fact that CB was a luxury for the place this team is at right now. The fact that we were able cover that position by later acquiring Gilmore shows that we did not get the best value for our #8 pick last year.
  4. Yikes. Worst take of the year front runner….
  5. I think one could easily argue we thought we were contenders before the draft. That is the only way you explain trading for Darnold and exercising his option.
  6. I thought when we left the Hurney era we would start getting more value for our top picks but it’s obvious we haven’t…
  7. The issue is not with selecting a CB but the fact we did not get proper value for that pick. Starting corners can be found later in the draft. A team with obvious weakness at OL and QB should not be selecting a corner in the top 10.
  8. Exactly this! Huddlers misjudging draft prospects is hardly a big deal. We’re nobodies that’s what’s supposed to happen. But if paid professionals are getting it wrong more than right then they are probably terrible at their profession.
  9. Good thing they’re doing it when we’re trash. Don’t need to find an excuse to sleep through a Panthers game.
  10. I’ll never understand why some huddlers think that professional evaluators being better than some random fan on the street is some sort of thing to be praise them for.
  11. We gave up our top 100 picks for Darnold and paid him 18m. It’s safe to say we are currently using anti-analytics.
  12. If Rhule gets the sack there is a good chance the new guy will want his guy especially if we’re picking in the top 10 again.
  13. I have the same concerns. I am slightly on the side that Pickett was a big fish in a small pond. If he played in a better conference like the SEC instead of being in Pitt for his five years I would have less doubts. The plus side about him being 24 is that you are getting a mature young man who can lead the team from the get go.
  14. Why would Tepper not be cool with Rhule taking a Pitt guy like Pickett? It’s very much likely Tepper may even tell Rhule to get Pickett. Especially since Tepper will be as desperate for a potential franchise QB as Rhule is.
  15. To be honest half the issues people have with Pickett isn’t his fault but Rhule’s. He whiffed so hard with Teddy and then Darnold that Pickett get dragged down. Not saying Pickett is worth picking at #6 but if we didn’t have a lame duck coach like Rhule peoples perceptions would be a lot different.
  16. Confirming what we already know, yet people still tried to defend the indefensible. Rhule has made several moves that should be sackable offenses. In my opinion Rhule has Tepper’s dick pics as blackmail.
  17. Folks need to accept that Rhule is the HC. Abandon all hope ye who enter.
  18. This won’t deter Rhule. He sees the progress but no one else can see it. Just him.
  19. Not a bad deal if it leads us to get a Kyler Murray the following year.
  20. True Burrow had better talent around him but he was still playing in a tougher conference, so if he was not up to snuff he would be found out and he wasn’t a game manger like Mac Jones was at Bama. Pickett taking 4 years in a lesser conference seems more likely to be a big fish in a small pond.
