That unfortunately doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t agree they should be kicked out of the ACC, but some of these ACC programs are not carrying their weight. Just being a good basketball and Olympic sport program doesn’t cut it anymore. You have to draw money in football. If the ACC dissolved tomorrow, programs like Duke and Virginia wouldn’t even get a sniff from the SEC and B10. FSU, Clemson, and UNC would be the prizes.

Oh yeah, I think he plays. Sucks he’s missed some practice, I’m sure there’s plenty of work to do learning the new defense. Hopefully he knows his gap assignments and exactly where he needs to be on run downs, not too concerned with the pass rush part.

Not to mention, I doubt they could have traded Moore for a first round pick, and that’s essentially what they did. The Bears wanted Moore instead of another pick. The fact we gave up only 1 first rd pick to move from 9 to 1 in a QB draft is crazy.

It would be monumentally stupid for Burns to start missing games over this contract dispute. They are only a couple million/year apart he’ll be losing nearly half of that for each game he misses.

I’m generally against breaching contracts. However, contracts usually include whatever penalty or recourse there is for breaching, so as long as the breaching party pays the damages or whatever it is without making everybody pay attorneys fees and whatnot for a judge to enforce the contract then it’s whatever. In the case of NFL players the only time it really feels slimy is when a player signs a long term deal and then wants to renegotiate before the end of the deal just because other salaries have gone up or the market has changed (see Zack Martin). Like you wanted the long term deal for security and the team wanted it to have a more team friendly contract at the end. If you wanted to renegotiate in a few years you should have signed a shorter contract.

Duke beating Clemson is absolutely terrible for the ACC.
