Round 1 - The Carolina Panthers Select Bryce Young - QB - Alabama

Maybe that’s why he was so pissed lol. -
Round 3 - The Carolina Panthers Select DJ Johnson - EDGE - Oregon

I actually liked Simpson depending on the role, but I saw some scouting reports that said he didn’t know wtf he was doing when it came to football. You can tell him to follow a guy around or rush the passer, but ask him to play zone or diagnose a play and good luck. Let’s not pretend he was some flawless prospect, he was drafted near the end of the third round for a reason. With that great of an athletic profile, it’s clear he had some major red flags for every team. -

Lol that tweener era was the worst. We brought over that asshat from Indy who wanted to build a whole defense of undersized guys because Dwight Freeney or some dumb poo. Set us back years. Probably part of the reason we overcorrected to draft all the fat asses Gettleman. -

Not super familiar with this guy, but seems to fill the role that I wanted Drew Sanders for. Hope he’s a monster for us! -
Just 3 years younger than Goff with less talent and less experience. I don’t get it.

Detroit is having such a terrible draft. Are they just punting on 2023?
-
Not good when he was kind of a clunky slogging runner to begin with.
-
I was looking at mock draft database consensus big board that gathers data from the other big boards to make a consensus board. I thought you were looking at a consensus board too that’s why I asked because I didn’t know why it would be so different.
-
Well damn Cody Mauch definitely looks the part with his teeth all busted out and belly hanging out.
-
Which one are you looking at? Mock draft database has him as 12th WR/79 overall on their consensus big board.
-
Wow. A bit disappointed with some of that defensive talent on the board, but let’s go.
-
Ah there’s the classic commercial break during our pick. I’m sure my broadcast super far behind and it’s already happened anyways.
-
Falcons jumping us for who?
-
Interesting they take Hall over Ojulari. Part of me secretly wanted them to take Ojulari more because I want Sanders more lol.
-
Here comes the run on every player we want but Eagles get to sit at 30 and take Nolan Smith lol.
-
Sheesh, thanks for not spoiling at least. My broadcast is at commercial.
-
Yes I hated that Tepper comment. It may seem logical, but it’s terrible practice.

Overcompensating. We all saw you pre draft. -
Colts taking Will Levis in the 2nd after drafting AR15?

Looks like Jim’s been smoking crack again. -
I wouldn’t adjust the draft based on any of those guys. YGM is more of a hybrid trash can so far in his career if he got cut would anybody even pick him up? Sanders is 6’4 and will add more weight to his frame. Once he gets up to 250+ I see a Clay Matthews type player being great in coverage, rushing the passer, and run stopping.

Which team ‘won’ round 1 and which team ‘bombed’
WUnderhill replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tampa is going for a QB prospect next year instead of taking the 4th QB this year. I don’t blame them. -
Eh, don’t get cute, take Sanders or one of the guards in that scenario.

DAY 2: Best of the Rest Big Board by Positions of Interest
WUnderhill replied to MHS831's topic in Carolina Panthers
I appreciate you including Sanders as an edge. He started his college career as a DE not a LB. I think he makes so much sense and brings so much versatility as a 3-4 OLB. -
Dave Tepper has become a major asset for the Panthers
WUnderhill replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I’m no Tepper apologist, but give credit where it’s due at least. There’s a few areas where owners can be assets, and he has opened up his wallet for coaches since he got here. Matt Rhule was the wrong person to open the wallet for, but he did it still, and now he’s got an actual good head coach who he gave the green light to go get the best coaching staff regardless of cost. -

You’re reaching pretty hard on the meddling part. He didn’t meddle with Rhule either he just made a hiring mistake and gave him too much power. Did you watch the press conference? They talk a lot about the process on the trade. There’s no doubt the team has not been good yet with him as owner, but he seems to be getting a lot right now that Rhule is gone.
