i was all in for Stroud and then realized i heard of either of these guys for the first time a few weeks ago and was being stupid to hitch my wagon to anyone. Frank Reich is a QB guy, i think i'll trust his judgment on whomever we end up taking. Stroud looks really good at football, Young looks really good at football, Richardson is in great shape, and Levis i'm sure has people who care about him.

Why Bryce young will be the pick and we should be excited
rodeo replied to RIPTreyLance's topic in Carolina Panthers
Bryce Young is far better than Russel WIlson. -
even if the team sucks, i won't be as mad because at least they tried this offseason. i only get mad when they stay complacent and keep obvious losers around for years past their expiration date.

we signed Andy Dalton, Shy Tuttle, Vonn Bell, and Hayden Hurst. we have interest in Parris Campbell, Jamaal Williams, and Adam Thielen. the first two look more likely than the third at this point. no leaks on the QB we want in the draft afaik. -
looking at the film (what i call youtube highlights), i really like how he fights for extra yards after the catch. very physical and does not like to go down.

wherever he goes i'm fine with it, i just wish the guy nothing but absolute failure

i'd be cool with it, i guess. i prefer Stroud but they're really 1a and 1b. if the pick is Young and he actually does end up too small or Stroud ends up miles better in the NFL, the Panthers will justifiably be a mockery because they'd be passing on as close to a sure thing as there is. -
Panthers showing interest in RB Jamaal Williams
rodeo replied to Saca312's topic in Carolina Panthers
he seems to be a bit of a touchdown vulture judging from his highlights. almost all of his TDs are from within the 5 and there were only a handful of big runs in the open field. -
poo if we'd waited a few hours we could have had Matt Ryan. that would have been too funny.

nice this opens us up to draft a linebacker at #1

Young vs Stroud with links to their passing plays in 2022 games
rodeo replied to panther4life's topic in Carolina Panthers
Good way to put it. Young reminds me a lot of Cam Newton, he did the same thing you describe in making easy plays seem harder, but he got away with it by nature of being the greatest human being to ever live. Young is Cam but 185 lbs, and I don't think he's going to get away with how he plays at the NFL level. -

i'm only starting to look at these dudes now, but my immediate reaction is strongly in Stroud's favor. after so many years of back-ups and projects, i'd really just like to watch a sure footed smooth and NFL-ready Quarterback. I see in Young's tape a lot of what I saw in Blaine Gabbert's when people were hyping him up for that draft. so much panic scrambling. -

Official hey the Panthers are wearing black helmets GameDay Thread!
rodeo replied to Zod's topic in Carolina Panthers
we kind of are, though. i mean we're not in the top echelon of franchises obviously, but 2 SB appearances and a smattering of deep playoff runs and 12-4 seasons over the past 20 years is more than a whole lot of franchises can say. at the very least we're as good as a franchise as the modern era Chiefs were before they got Andy Reid and developed a winning culture. that's what i think our priority should be this offseason, finding our Andy Reid more than our Trevor Lawrence. -

i don't think a few draft positions is going to make that big of a difference. the same handful of teams get the first pick every year but rarely get better, we don't want to become one of them just hoping to draft that exact right player that'll turn everything around. long term winning teams comes from ownership, culture, coaching, and their strategies on how to run a franchise. -
hey the plus side of just seeing this thread now is that i also immediately got the good news. this is great. love you buddy i'm glad it sounds like it's working out
