  1. Old friend Elliott Fry is kicking for the Jags right now.
  2. Jags March down to red zone but have to kick a field goal.
  3. Jags might finally have something with Lawrence, Etienne, Kirk, and Jones. Along with Pederson of course.
  4. Watson struggled with his first series but Lawrence is moving the Jags right down the field.
  5. Prospect tourney is coming up soon, we’ll be a fun time to see our young guys. We also have a few kids in World Juniors right now.
  6. Sam has been talked up a good amount. McLaurin stated that he really liked what he was seeing out of Howell which is kind of an odd thing to say about a late round QB. Wouldn’t totally shock me in the least if this QB class is better than people think. I think all in all that Pickett, Ridder, Willis, Corral, and Howell can be capable backups. One or two might even come out as good starting QB’s.
  7. Your numbers are off. He was clocked at 21.19 on an interception return and his 40 time was a 4.66, a time he improved to 4.57 at Coastal’s pro day. I’ll give it to you that clocked speed isn’t the best indicator because the further the distance the more time to build up speed. But just taking a look at the clocked speed list, all of the guys listed are guys that you’d consider to be some of the fastest in the NFL (https://www.sportingnews.com/us/amp/nfl/news/nfl-fastest-players-2021-tyreek-hill-lamar-jackson/bhytiud9irwa1094y4kt7bqfl). I’ll also mention that a QB hitting a time over 20 MPH is a pretty good indicator of their speed because most QB’s aren’t breaking long runs where they have time to build up that speed. Willis isn’t as fast as Lamar and Vick but he’s still very fast. In reality he runs a little clunky which probably appears slower to the naked eye. All the numbers seem to indicate that he’s still a very fast player.
  8. Personally, I don’t think the argument that he got ran down by smaller school LB’s diminishes how fast he is. Kids who run 4.4’s also play at small school’s… so getting run down by one small school LB who happens to be fast isn’t some slight. In reality, 9 out of the top 20 (nearly half) 40 times at this years combine came from smaller school players. Willis was clocked at 20.58MPH during the senior bowl, only Kyler Murray was clocked with a faster time this past year. I think Willis is plenty fast and while he might not be as laterally quick as Vick or Jackson, he has solid straight line speed. I also think he has the ability to fight through arm tackles much better than most of the other mobile QB’s in todays game.
  9. Meant to say this earlier but Isaiah Likely looks like he might be a good player for the Ravens.
  10. People are always looking for those instant grits as Cam used to say.
  11. Twitter seems to think he was really good. His debut was probably closer to somewhere in the middle but he did some nice things. Obviously his escapability translated to the NFL and he showed off his elite arm strength... but definitely needs to work on processing the game quicker, knowing when to live for the next play, and not taking needless hits. Decent debut though: 6/11 / 128 Total Yards / 88.1 Passer Rating / 1 rushing TD I’d take those same stats from Corral and be just as content.
  12. This was just posted but this isn’t the same account, the original was deleted, this might just be a copy cat.
  13. So listening to the DW interview, it seems like they expect Patches back before the playoffs, so there may not be some huge move because they’d need to be cap compliant as soon as he comes back. I think we’ll add a depth piece and then move out someone like Bear at the trade deadline to open up room for Patches. I think Stastny would be a good add, he provides a really good net presence and would probably work well with Staal. DW also stated that Gardiner will be in camp, which at this point was to be expected as we have plenty of cap space. As soon as Patches goes on LTIR we’ll have just over $5M in cap space and that’s with Gardiner’s numbers factored in. I think you try to get Stastny in here at like 1YR/$2M and then at the trade deadline you either send out Gardiner or a combination of Bear and Martinook to make room for Patches. Pre-Deadline Svech - Aho - Turbo Necas - KK - Jarvis Stastny - Staal - Fast Marty - Drury - Kase Noesen/Dzingel Slavin - Burns Skjei - Pesce Gardiner - Bear Chatfield Andersen Raanta Post-Deadline Svech - Aho - Turbo Patches - KK - Jarvis Necas - Staal - Fast Stastny - Drury - Kase Noesen/Dzingel Slavin - Burns Skjei - Pesce Gardiner - Chatfield Coghlan Andersen Raanta
  14. Corujo is out for the year… CB depth is now Walkes, Fuchs, and Sobocinski. Malanda should be available in a week or two.
  15. So apparently DW said that Patches is going on LTIR today and that they are exploring options. There’s also a Reddit rumor that Lenovo has won the naming rights to the RBC Center… I mean PNC Arena… or whatever the hell they want to call it.
  16. Even if we don’t go big game hunting with the money that we’ll have by putting Patches on LTIR, I hope we at least bring in Kessel, Stastny, or Rodrigues. I don’t think you can lose 40 or so goals between Nino and Trocheck and replace them with Kase, Noesen, and Drury. We definitely need a stop gap unless we swing for the fences with someone like Kane or Kadri. Or they could get real ballsy and offer sheet Jason Robertson (though it would 100% be matched).
  17. I know it sucks but I think it might just be a partial tear… the wording and the time frame almost made it sound like the Canes knew and it didn’t just happen. I’m not saying we are playing cap gymnastics… but we might be.
  18. Honestly not the worst thing that could happen if they replace him. Just imagine in the playoffs. Svech - Aho - Turbo Patches - KK - Kane Kase - Necas - Jarvis Drury - Staal - Fast Marty They’d go 16-0
  19. If we can get a big fish like Kane then I’d LTIR him and don’t bring him back til the playoffs when we can get away with all that salary on the roster.
  20. Well this sucks… On the bright side. They can LTIR him and still have $6M or so to play with and that’s even with Gardiner coming to camp (to see if he has anything left). They should be able to get enough retainment on Kane if they want to add him.
  21. Rumor or not that was the first account to literally leak the Burns trade in regards to the compensation… literally all the way down to the retention. Also called the Patches trade first (including Coghlan), and no, we were not being linked to him. Then stated that Tkachuk was likely on his way to St. Louis unless Carolina stepped up their offer. Obviously Florida came in at the last second but it was later revealed by insiders that St. Louis and Carolina were the other suitors. Then there was the Necas deal and while Czech media was already reporting it, the term and details weren’t confirmed, the account once again got that right. I want it to be wrong just as much as you do but that account is fairly new and has been leaking everything correctly. It almost seems like some new Canes intern got a hold of Twitter and is leaking everything. As I said, it could be a case where the Canes planted a fake rumor and were trying to weed out someone leaking stuff and that’s why the account didn’t want it posted long. The fact that the original tweet said that they wouldn’t leave the tweet up long only improves the credibility. Basically saying that this happened but I can’t leave it up right now because only a few people even know and it could blow my cover.
