  1. That was FUN TO WATCH . I haven't watched a whole game all year. MERRY CHRISTMAS PANTHERS HUDDLE'ERS
  2. The Story of Franco's Italian Army https://fb.watch/hySeIzxbYz/
  3. As I'm older than many here, Franco's rookie year ( 1972 , the year of his Immaculate Reception ) was the start of the Steeler Dynasty. There was Franco's Army , Gerela's Gorillas, etc. Pittsburg was a perennial loser. The year before they were 6-8 . Because America roots for underdogs, many jumped on the Steeler bandwagon. And why not, they were new and fun to watch. I was working in a regional department store, and there was a small 10" TV for sale in the mens department and many of was were standing there in amazement at the end of that game. There was no ESPN etc.. So to see the reply took days LOL. May he rest in Peace
  4. POOF it was gone.. So We'll be Detroit and some of us will be hoping or MAGIC ,, then beat Tampa ,, then,, Pooof we'll lose to the 'aints lol. The Tepper comment.. we'd better get use to this. He's the owner and we can't fire him. Hopefully he's a better and faster learner than some of the past owners in this league ( Jerry Jones good owner, bad GM etc ) . You rarely get groomed to be an owner.. ( Steelers groomed Rooney's etc ) . He's still on his rookie contract, and we hope it all clicks when hiring our next coach. One thing that makes owner look wonderful is having a true Franchise Quarterback. which brings WINS and SUPER BOWLS . I think how long Buffalo has waited between Jim Kelly and 4 Super Bowl Appearances and Josh Allen,, or the Patriots since Brady left. That's what makes a great owner . Merry Christmas Panthers
  5. I'm liking Steve Wilks more and more each week. I'm not Pro or Against him being the Panthers next head coach. He's part of the lawsuit against the NFL suing the NFL for racial discrimination .. We know the NFL owners will ban together to do what ever they want to do ( not hiring colin kaeperinick etc ) . So will the other owners try to have input with Tepper to keep him from hiring him full time ? Will Tepper tell them to bugger off.. Will Tepper hold a grudge against those suing him ? Currently , because of the Rooney Rule, Tepper can not give Wilks to HC ( instead of interim HC ) job till have the season. Personally, I think if Tepper likes him and the job he's doing, he'll hire him and tell the other NFL owners to stay out of his business
  6. Why does it have to be a FIRST TIME head coach vs Wilks.. I'm not against Wilks or in his camp yet ( Like he cares LOL ) , but maybe there'll be a another former head coach to take a look at . I think Wilks is doing a very good job , coming in off the bench. Our offense still reeks .. As much as we liked running the ball down Seattle's throat , even when they knew it was coming ,, you have to have more pass offense. Of coarse having a TE and a couple of WR that can catch the ball, get separation, and even make the occasional miracle catch would help .
  7. The debate isn’t IF we need a QB , but what if they all suck,, I think that’s what the people saying TE , DE , WR .. Yeah we need a QB , but some are thinking if there is a stud TE OR DE , sitting there and you’re picking the 4th QB in next year crop … pick that QB later
  8. Oh,, the Panthers win alright .. This will ( IS ) be the most fickle season in Panther history. Another twist and turn. We hate a coach, we have seen 3 QB's have decent "quarters" , then suck in most. Head coach is awful , fire him, and some of his assistants.. Interim coach is doing " ok" but we still are 3-4 with him, so that by the end of the season, half the fan base will be singing his praises and the other half wanting more in a head coach. For the most part this team gets and F on offense, and a C on defense. Special teams are better than last years lol. SO HELL YEAH WE'RE WINNING TODAY TO KEEP US IN THE HUNT ,,,, AND MAKING OUR DRAFT NOW QUITE AS GOOD. ( I don't think the QB class that is coming out is all that good , so we probably won't get a franchise QB in the draft anyway ) GO PANTHERS . BEAT the SEABIRDS
  9. We literally have NOTHING TO TALK ABOUT on our message board.
  10. Yes, this is an CAROLINA PANTHERS / NFL forum. For this one season I understand all the weird topics showing up here , rather than THE LOUNGE forum . There use to be a college forum too, but I see it's gone. After about week 3 or 4 , our fan base was mailing it in.. So we really are discussing firing Rhule.,, Telling everyone that might still be reading, HOW BAD ALL OUR QB's are. Who will be our next coach .. Mathematically we aren't eliminated .. What I'm saying is WE don't have Carolina Panthers football to discuss. Our season is over. So for this Panther season I have no problem seeing others discussing their college football on the NFL FORUM. Or they could move it to the Lounge.
  11. Hearing his voice just made me cringe. Knowing he lies and probably believes them. Since he was sooooo bad here, I don’t think we’ll have to worry about this , but there is no way I could ever listen to him as a commentator ( tv / radio ). . No one would hire him. I feel sorry for Nebraska. And hope they lose as long as he’s there
  12. He may not be THE MAN ,, but he did beat Alabama lol.. of coarse there were many other bad games. Like the opener against Ga , and last week against the beavers
  13. If we play our cards right,, we can win the division, make the playoffs, and still have a top 10 pick in next years draft . Of coarse Nu Awleans, Adlanna , and Tampa will pick before us
  14. Slow the horses,, We beat a bad Denver team , a bad Atlanta team.. and Tampa Bay. We lost 4 since he took over., 3-4 .. let’s give this experiment a little more time. yes he’s better than Rhule.. no he doesn’t have an NFL quarterback,, but let’s not just write checks to anyone who looks better than Rhule.. let the season play out
  15. Bo Nix . Oregon . ( via Auburn ) He'll be a later round pick for some one
  16. The UNC offense isn’t much better than the Defense . But NCSU defense looks like they’re in the UNC huddle when tje play is called
  17. Happy Thanksgiving Eve! Wanted to take a minute to give thanks... I'm thankful for all of it. The highs. The lows. The lessons. The setbacks. The comebacks. The love. Everything. It shapes who we are and introduces so many wonderful people into our lives. Find the courage to smile with each new day! Love your neighbor Happy Thanksgiving to all . Thanksgiving attempt at humor
  18. None of this class have me excited. Sure, 2 might end up being franchise QB's. But we have no clue based on their college play. And who ever comes to the Panthers,, will have a rough time becoming a franchise QB. The parts to surround him aren't as good as we think we are. We're not one player away, especially a rookie QB. There is no Cam Newton, or Peyton Manning etc. Look at Trevor Lawrence.. put him on a bad team, with a "strange" head coach, and then fire the head coach, and in his second year, second offensive coordinator and he's not considered a franchise QB .. Lawrence is good, but in bad situation. So I don't think the QB we pick, and we will pick one.. will flourishes . Never forget, we are a bad team. We don't have a top 10 player at any position. ( maybe long snapper ) We've also seen teams turn it around in just a few years.
  19. Buckle up buttercup.. Panthers are about to score a TD
  20. Gaylord Perry also. 2 Cy Young Awards .MLB HOF If we go old school, Sonny Jurgensen NFL HOF, & Roman Gabriel NFL MVP
  21. Rhule's got about 40 million left on his guaranteed contract with the Panthers, Why would he go coach again. Ole saying : " It's better to not coach and be thought a fool , than to coach and remove all doubt " Yes, I know the original saying
  22. No College coaches.. blasphemy .. just kidding.
  23. https://nflpa.com/posts/only-natural-grass-can-level-the-nfls-playing-field#:~:text=Specifically%2C players have a 28,on turf compared to grass. The data supports the anecdotes you’ll hear from me and other players: artificial turf is significantly harder on the body than grass. Based on NFL injury data collected from 2012 to 2018, not only was the contact injury rate for lower extremities higher during practices and games held on artificial turf, NFL players consistently experienced a much higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries on turf compared to natural surfaces. Specifically, players have a 28% higher rate of non-contact lower extremity injuries when playing on artificial turf. Of those non-contact injuries, players have a 32% higher rate of non-contact knee injuries on turf and a staggering 69% higher rate of non-contact foot/ankle injuries on turf compared to grass.
