Hard to believe, but given that he’s saddled with a staff he didn’t choose and stuck with an offense that’s underperforming at epic levels, he might actually be in an even worse situation than he was in Arizona.
-
Totally agree. In his last try, he was part of a sh-tty organization (I know, insert comment here) and wasn’t given a fair shake. This time, he’s behind the 8 ball, but I’m hoping he gets a fair evaluation. I know everyone wants a top pick, but you can’t not root for Wilks.

If you’re looking for a different outcome from last season, you’re probably going to be disappointed. I know everyone wants to see Newton get a chance to ride off into the sunset, but it’s just not likely to happen.

Matt Rhule has made me stop caring about this team

If you’re serious about winning, Brian Flores is the coach

The problem with a lot of Belichick disciples is they come in acting like Belichick from day one despite not havin earned that kind of respect yet. The stories that came out about Flores Miami tenure certainly fit that description. -

For one, he has connections and is well respected around the league. For another, he actually knows football well enough to ask meaningful questions (and know the right answers) For yet another, he'd have Dan Morgan working alongside him. And last but most certainly not least, he's not David Tepper.

A little added context...

I really don't get why people think someone is going to come in and miraculously start winning, especially when you consider a good portion of the staff probably leaves with him (Snow, for one).

I think people overrate Flores because he was fired at a time when he probably didn't deserve to be. But if you think he's something special, I'm not sure you're looking at the whole picture. -

It's not about this season. This season is basically already lost. Pretty much everyone can see Rhule needs to go. There's no real point in keeping him longer. There is something Tepper can gain by letting him go early, though. Rhule would be immediately available to interview for college jobs, and if he gets one Tepper would no longer have to pay him. -
Do people think good GM candidates are gonna be attracted to a team whose owner fired the last guy even though he didn't have power over the roster? Tepper gives an unqualified college coach full roster control over a seasoned NFL personnel guy, then fires the personnel guy despite forcing him to work under the unqualified college coach, and we're expecting other people to want to work for this owner?

Who let you in? -
Sure Walker's win percentage is about as valid as the Panthers #2 defensive ranking last season.
