Not real sure I buy that. Phil Snow's schemes got figured out pretty early in the season, and truth be told the adjustments needed to beat It weren't really that difficult. At this point, any team that can run the ball even half decent can own us pretty easily.

Our defense isn't really that good. Throw in that we'd likely have to give up one or more of our better defensive players as part of the trade.

He used to work here under Rivera as I recall.

Pretty common belief at this point is that he'll change his preferred target to whatever team hires Brian Flores. Obviously that's not going to be us.

On top of all the other hilarity, these this... I get the feeling that guy might not be sober...or intelligent.

I grant it's a legitimate question. Concern about the arrest history is valid as well. With that said, if he doesn't get a head coaching job after last night, I'll be flabbergasted.

The championship games being better than the Super Bowl is a pretty common thing. Heck, there was a stretch a while back where the NFC Championship was basically the game of the year and the Super Bowl was an afterthought. As it stands now, any game remaining is going to have to be friggin legendary to beat out yesterday's games (especially last night's).

And think about what that trade would require. Not only are you giving up a major portion of the resources that could be used to build around him; you're also giving up your next three years worth of shots to get a different franchise quarterback if, for whatever reason, Watson doesn't work out. That's way too big a gamble to take on somebody who's got the kinds of issues Watson has.

Don't think the Rams could give them a run for their money?

Have you met Sizzlebuzz? And for the record, I've started exactly two threads tonight: this one and the one about overtime rules. Does two threads constitute "an alarming rate"? Bottom line though, I'd rather talk about football than talk about me.
-
"We should get a franchise quarterback" and "we should get Deshaun Watson" are not the same argument.
-
I've already got one creepy, stalkerish type keeping track of my post count and such. Maybe you two should collaborate

Richardson never managed back-to-back winning seasons, but in order to have those, you have to start with having a winning season. Tepper hasn't even brought us that yet.

Lotta people saying it was. Granted, it didn't really have much for Panther fans (unless you count watching the Bucs lose and seeing Tom Brady get penalized) but if you're a fan of good football, this weekend certainly had a load of that. Yea or nay?
-
You mean like telling the women who were here for the Richardson scandal that his office was going to do much better on that front, then turning around and pursuing a quarterback accused of multiple counts of sexual harassment? That sort of "work environment and culture" thing?
-
Common sentiment right now... I'll grant that there are still valid arguments for and against them both, but after tonight if Eric Bieniemy and Brian Daboll don't get head coaching jobs, I won't know what to think.

What's ironic as hell is that this same thing happened to the Chiefs just a couple of years ago. In the aftermath, this happened:

As a post script, every time I hear the announcers talking about how great Harrison Butker is, I feel like banging my head against a wall. Following that up with watching him make a game saving kick doesn't make it any better

If you think a good quarterback is enough to win championships without good coaching and roster management around him, you don't know what you're watching. Until we get somebody in leadership who can coach and build a team better than Matt Rhule, it doesn't matter who the quarterback is. Fix the biggest problem first. Then we can talk about the others.
-
I don't wanna go that far. For me, ensuring that both teams get the ball is enough. Sure wouldda been great tonight. And I've got a feeling this topic is gonna be discussed a lot in the next week or two.
-
Yeah, actually he did. That's why a fellow Tom Coughlin guy is now our OC. And sorry, that's not how it works. If Tepper felt the need to do that sort of thing, there'd be no point in keeping Rhule for another year. I know people are trying to come up with any number of tinfoil hat theories as to why it's happening, but I'm afraid the real reason is that Tepper really believes Rhule deserves at least one more year. Honestly, as much as we all want to believe it will only be one year, that's not guaranteed either.

There's likely no chance whatsoever that the NFL changes overtime rules for the regular season. But in the postseason, both teams should absolutely have an opportunity to possess the ball.

Rhule has final say on everything in the organization. And unless we hear otherwise, there's no indication from anyone that this has changed or will change next season. That means there's nothing to stop him from using current and future picks or current players to do whatever he thinks it takes to save his own ass.

Seriously...
