  1. Now we are at 5. The Rams and Bears are going to win another game or more, so we can slide up to 3rd. Our biggest worry should be the Texans, Broncos, and Steelers. All the rest of the 4 win teams can and probably will win games.
  2. Odd that the OL was rated so poorly as they were mauling the Broncos in the run game.
  3. Luckily a lot of the top 10(bottom) teams face each other. I think it's very, very possible we draft top 5.
  4. Oh I am not advocating for us to NOT draft a rookie QB, I am just saying if I am going journeyman, just take a guy that has been a bunch of places and had modest success or better at most. No more gambling on busts or damaged goods. That's fool's gold.
  5. Well, a Steelers win does push us up the draft board....
  6. He was talking about Mike White from the Jets.
  7. I wouldn't take him this offseason. I'd rather get a decent journeyman game manager(Garoppolo, Brissett, Heinickie, Bridgewater, etc) if I am gonna go with a stop gap option.
  8. Well technically PJ had the worst game at QB for us. It was almost historically bad. He did also have the best game at QB for us, so I am not sure how that all comes out in the wash. I know I would probably rather have watched him the rest of the season rather than Darnold or Mayfield. But I would have probably rather watched Eason too. Hell, I'd probably rather watch you start.
  9. He wasn't a starter in HS until his senior year. I believe he had played QB for a while but he was predominantly a baseball player. I am not sure who started this fantasy of "catching up" which got thrown at Darnold too but it is actually a fantasy. You either figure it out or you don't at the NFL level. We have the rest of the year to see if White could be a guy or just another in a very long line of backups that win a few games and flame out.
  10. Ahhh the "our" poo. The classic example of losing perspective when it comes to NFL prospects. But, by all means, tell us about some other South Carolina player that everyone is missing out on that won't play in the NFL either. College homers gonna homer. I can remember living in Columbia for a few months years ago and always going to see Panthers games at a local sports bar. Never saw another Panthers fan, just a scattering of random NFL people. Then one day the bar was jam packed with people watching the Browns game because some backup QB from South Carolina made his first and only NFL career start. That was when I knew how pathetic Gamecock fans were and how pathetic Columbia was in terms of supporting the Panthers.
  11. We have an old, inaccurate article spinning the typical clueless college fan hype. Good Lord. At least with the Drake Maye hype there was some logic behind pushing the narrative. Spencer fuging Rattler??
  12. I am willing to bet you are gonna see him treated about like Allen, Heinickie, Mills. etc. Unless he really tears it up the rest of the year and leads them to a long playoff run, I don't think you will see him be much more than....well....he already has been. Keep in mind he was drafted in 2018. This isn't some guy that just came onto the scene.
  13. I could care less about Clemson. Sounds more like you are just another clueless college homer. Rattler's odds of getting into the NFL completely revolve around him improving a TON next season because he was not good this past season outside one game against Tenn.
  14. We literally did this yesterday. Not to mention his take is incredibly inaccurate now that the entire season has been completed. He was not good, minus a big game against Tennessee.
  15. This is basically the Huddle with every proven bum backup QB.
  16. I think that's a big problem with a lot of people that get far too caught up in religiosity(not wholly blaming this, BTW). Their "niceness" seems disingenuous and typically is. Have met a bunch of these types over the years. Usually they have things bubbling under the surface, although some are quite genuine.
  17. The variables are too many to even say what our scenario will be next year. Could have a new head coach, almost definitely will have a new OC, could have a top 5 draft pick, will almost definitely have to sign a FA QB, etc, etc. We might be starting a re-tread or a freshly drafted 2023 prospect. Who can say at this point? The answer isn't on the roster, that has been pretty conclusively determined.
