  1. That Paradis signing just keeps looking worse and worse in hindsight. Luckily this is the last year of his deal(minus the void years). I can remember how much we all loved that signing at the time. Little did we know....
  2. I didn't see a lot of holding up long enough to throw anything more than Teddy passes. I have little to no belief in Sam Darnold but it's going to be hard to judge him well if that line is getting blown up as quickly as it was last night.
  3. Well, it's also his second stop in which this was an issue, after four years at VT with the same problems. Hopefully he gets it figured out but sometimes it just doesn't happen. Either way, it's not something the Carolina Panthers have to deal with anymore. That is what I am happy about.
  4. This is a postseason discussion, not a preseason discussion. You have to let them play actual NFL snaps before you have an idea of what they are.
  5. Also kind of easy to look better when the guys around you are getting smoked off the snap.
  6. I think if we see that line collapse over and over this season, which seems likely, then it will suddenly become a priority in the 2022 offseason. If there is anything encouraging, it seems like Rhule and Fitterer are REALLY quick to change course when they made a mistake.
  7. That's why it has been so frustrating to watch Elflein and Erving continue to be trotted out there. They were always going to suck. I agree, though. That combination is the most likely that we see(barring injury) by midseason.
  8. Everyone could see that OL was going to struggle. The coaches pretty much telegraphed it the entire offseason by constantly shuffling them and making the "best five" comment. What he meant is "competent five" and they are still searching. But, that is basically what you get when you don't invest properly in your OL. IMO, just roll with the young guys, let them take their lumps and hope over the 17 games you see some improvement and chemistry develop. All these journeyman and JAGs that are getting waxed over and over......let them ride the pine for those paychecks.
  9. Eh....he doesn't have to be a fiery/vocal guy to be a great QB. There is more than one relatively quiet or "unanimated" QB in the NFL that is successful. I think you just got used to the successful guys we have had like Jake and Cam who wore their emotions on their sleeves. There will be plenty to criticize Darnold about over the course of a game that matters, I don't think point that merits much of it.
  10. Well part of that is because they have been constantly being shuffled around to find the "best five." The truth is, we still probably haven't figured that out. I think there is a very real chance that shuffling lasts the entire 17 game schedule.
  11. Eh....he's made roughly $1 mil in his NFL career, so after taxes he has enough to sit around for a while....but not forever.
  12. I know the coaching staff attempted to sell us on some bums like Elflein and Erving based on "versatility" but Hartsfield is actually the kind of player they are describing. Valuable depth guy.
  13. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/32099410/carolina-panthers-give-dwayne-haskins-steelers-backups-lesson-tough-preseason-finale Seems like a waste of an MVP caliber DE to have him playing CB, although he did snag an INT.......
  14. Of course he's fuging racist, he grew up around Pittsburgh. You guys ever been there? Enough said.
  15. It's preseason. Can't get excited about it at all. If he does this against the Jets, then I will be happy about it.
  16. Yeah, well we thought that was gonna happen this year sooo....
  17. This won't age well. You are probably even unware of it as we speak.
  18. Even a two season data set may not be enough to draw complete conclusions on what he is. People are understating just how young and early in his career he is. Who knows what he may be with 5, 6, 7 years of NFL experience under his belt?
  19. I think if he gets a HC job in the next couple seasons, he will be a massive failure. I know the hot thing right now is to get the next Sean McVay but a lot of these young offensive minds have flamed out in their first stops. Many more than were hits. It's not a guaranteed path to head coaching success being an innovative or brilliant offensive mind. He may take a couple of stops and a lot longer time in the NFL before he is ready for something like that. I hope he sticks around here for a bit and doesn't get poached immediately.
  20. Yeah, I brought them up giving examples of why I am not gonna crown Fitterer yet(Gettleman reference) and then proceeded to trash them both. It was Dave's nephew that got all butthurt and decided to come take up the banner of "MY SHITTY GM WAS BETTER!!" Dave Gettleman sucked, he still sucks now. Maybe you can go over to the Giants board and lecture them on how great he was in Carolina. I'm sure they'd love to hear it after their four straight losing seasons. Also, you aren't a Panthers fan, so you are just arguing to argue.
  21. I would be surprised because this staff hasn't done anything that stupid yet. Well.....maybe the drafting a long snapper but I mean more so with the roster. Toting two place kickers is extremely stupid.
