  1. Preseason home opener was also against the Jets that year (9-3 L). 2003 season opener was against Jacksonville. Went to the Super Bowl. 2015 season opener was against Jacksonville. Went to the Super Bowl. In conclusion: preseason home opener vs NYJ, you're winning 2 games. Regular season opener vs JAX, you're hoisting the George Halas Trophy.
  2. The 3-4 was the base defense for most of this team's worst seasons, sans 2010. It just doesn't work here.
  3. This team has a lot more in common with 2010 than just handily losing the home preseason opener to the Jets
  4. People can say it doesn’t matter but if I’m an opposing DC, I just run stunts all day against this line, and you’ve got 7-10 sacks and a shutout most every week.
  5. I will say I hate the 3-4 and aside from 1996 it’s been a failure every season it’s used here. I counted one QB pressure the whole game and it was the sack by Barno. Nobody came close to pressuring any of their QBs and the off coverage presented 5-8 yard gains every snap, not including the inevitable broken tackle. Third down and fourth down defense was abysmal. Offensively, Corral had some plays that would make Randy Fasani blush.
  6. Preseason games don’t count and the score would be marginally closer if it weren’t for going for it on fourth down. But that’s the most inept Panthers preseason performance since 2010. They looked like they hadn’t practiced all year and it’s not a good sign the starters were letting their backups move the ball at will on the first possession. Granted I didn’t expect this team to win a lot of games this year and key guys were out, but that was an inexcusable performance.
  7. long punt of 60, average including return was 46+ which takes into account out-kicking his coverage twice
  8. Shoulda kicked it twice. Had two chances at it.
  9. Barno's sack was probably the play of the game bc if Sam Franklin were more focused on yards than vaulting after that great pick, that's either a TD or well into FG range
  10. Impressed: Amare Barno, Johnny Hekker Looked good: Bryce Young, Sam Franklin (fantastic read on that INT but stupid return), Spencer Brown Solid if unspectacular: Derrick Brown, Shaq, Frankie Luvu, Adam Thielen, Donte Jackson Sucked: pretty much everyone else who played
  11. I don’t disagree. Just pointing out he did have one
  12. Negative. Winning record yes, but probably no playoffs
  13. Bryce’s first pass went for a first down
  14. My best friend in HS lived down the hall from Armanti at Applachian one year, but I don't remember which. Trey Elder played against us my sophomore year and I remember he was a good player.
  15. I'd be stoked if I could go. Auburn guy and a Panthers Pro Bowler/a good chunk of the reason we made it to the Super Bowl
  16. He's excellent at run blocking. He paved the way for several big runs against the Lions and was the lead blocker on multiple 20-plus yard runs.
  17. Sounds like an awesome time. Can't commit yet due to my schedule, but wish you guys luck. I'm sure it'll go well.
  18. I guess it pays to go to Walmart to get some formula for your kid, and walk by the boxes of cards before you check out
  19. Judging by yesterday, I think DJ Chark is WR1.
