The stats don't lie. Bryce Young has been ineffective as a passer for most of this season. Just take a look at his numbers: Games like Arizona (where they gave him all those soft zone freebies while the Panthers were behind) and the Falcons (statistical and objective anomaly) clearly are not the norm. What is the norm is Young performing at a mediocre level at best, with being far below average a more normal trend. You can't win in today's NFL with a midget who can't throw consistently well and who doesn't have the athleticism or size. The only consistent thing about Young is that he's bad and shouldn't see another snap as starter. Time to move on.

At least Shula was able to play to the strength's of the team - let Cam do it. Rico's been the best player on our offense by a large margin and Chuba was picking up steam. What does Canales do? He puts the game in his midget QB's hands hoping he'd be the same as last week without establishing the run, while the 49ers kept feasting against our WRs and predictable pass game. This game was winnable thanks to this defense. But fugging poo we shot that chance away out a cannon and gifted the 49ers an easy win.

noticed that too. Tmac's got plenty of talent and crisp route running but dear god his drops and then getting out muscled by guys less his size are frustrating. XL's an enigma. Has all the potential to be a monster but plays like a very poor man's Funchess week after week.

yeah after some thought not sure what kind of gameplan he thought would work against the 49ers. rico and chuba were averaging 5ypc but only had 9 total attempts. bryce sucked as usual under the bright lights but not sure why we thought passing those chips was the best way to take advantage of a hobbled 49ers defense. zero playcalling to the strengths of this team. we have a mediocre at best qb while we have some top tier runningbacks having good production. establish the run and open up the intermediates and deep shots while stretching the 49ers defense. saleh must've thought it was christmas with the gift canales and young kept handing hin. easy gameplanning when your opponent's offense is calling scared. canales needs to stop trying to be like mcvay when he's clearly way in over his head. would like to see us get an oc for him to handle that. he seems great as a ceo type but delegate playcalling to someone more competent. oh and get bryce young tf off this team we're never going all the way with that midget.

hard to gameplan when you have to coddle a midget cosplaying NFL qb each weekend, and trust said midget to be half decent. canales for the most part calls games knowing he is hamstrung with a bottom tier qb and an oline succumbing to injury with no true speedster at wr. and to be fair, canales was clearly spooked about something from the 49ers defense and he shouldn't have been as scared. but bryce young hasn't earned the right to let his HC be confident in him, especially after his first INT. he's still clearly trying to navigate being a coach but has shown way more positives than negatives for the most part. i mean this team looks near playoff ready minus QB and that's big props to him. imo canales should get one more year with his choice of qb. one he trusts to open the playbook, because last week shows with half decent qb play he can work good magic. bryce young's inconsistency is why this team won't reach the next level and dave tepper better suck it up, realize his weird infatuation with young was an error to the nth degree, and move on. bryce young should pack his bags and look into being a backup for the rest of his nfl career. maybe his cerebral chatgpt bionic superprocessing computer would have value as part of an nfl team's coaching staff. but i'm done playing the "maybe he'll finally play at nfl starter level" game with young. he's shown he'll never be consistently good and it's time to show him the door.

Across the league, many of the most productive wide receivers are doing their best work out of the slot. Rams WR Puka Nacua and Seattle’s Jaxon Smith-Njigba are perfect examples, with both putting up strong numbers this season thanks to their impact coming from the slot. Teams are clearly figuring out that placing their top playmakers inside creates major advantages against today’s defenses. I’m glad Canales has picked up on that as well and put T-Mac in position to have his best game yet. Especially against the Falcons, who arguably had one of the better pass defenses in the NFL prior to yesterday Hope to see that continue. Dave's still relatively young in the coaching world and is clearly still trying to find a good formula. Yesterday's gameplan with the YAC and impact all across the board was an encouraging sign for the future.

Official Week 11: Panthers @ Falcons Gameday Thread

what a wild stat. he's 4 yards short of Cam Newton's record lmao -
We'll beat the Saints, Falcons aren't gonna be a cakewalk again and their defense is pretty legit. Got lucky last time with the Falcons making all their mistakes in frank honesty. They likely don't do that again.

Hubbards been great the past few years, but Rico's just on another level and meshes so well with this offense. Rico just attacks and pounds for all the yards he can. If this team is smart, we get some value out of Hubbard before tuesday for a trade and give Rico Hubbard's contract and then some. Love Chuba for all he's done, but it's clear this team has another RB that's on another level we shouldn't let go of.

Give Dowdle all the RB money it'd be stupid to let him walk at this point.

took long enough. those prayer balls from Love were bound to be INT'd soon. -
Rico may very well get up to 1000+ yards from scrimmage in two weeks if the Bills run defense keeps this up lol.
-
When Canales trusts in the strength of this team (running) and NOT calling hail marys when behind, this offense shows life. Kudos to Canales for improving.
-
Jaxson Dart has shown more in 3 rookie season games than Bryce Young has shown in 3 seasons lol.

historically (2020+), cowboys seem to have our number. not too confident in a victory. their defense is very bad, but bryce young's tendency to make mistakes especially early on doesn't give me confidence, especially as their offense is quite good. if we fall behind early, we likely don't have an easy time coming back.
-
Yeah it's not pooing the team after the win to be critical of the fact Bryce still hasn't shown enough to be a difference maker. He nearly lost the game in the first half and had to hang on to Dawdle going off and the defense holding on to eek the win. Some decent throws sure but that's what you'd expect normal NFL QBs to do consistently, and Bryce is the opposite of said consistency. Good to enjoy the win, it was a beautiful fight. But also fair to criticize one of our weak links whose first half performance nearly led this team to an insurmountable hole.
-
yea the k balls gotta be juiced this season if piniero made that 59 yarder lol
-
Evero can't help himself with starting his bums over better younger talent. Long time overdue to move on from that failure of a project.
-
Falcons had quite the dominant defensive performance the first two games, especially against the Vikings. By all accounts this was a very encouraging game. Sure we likely won't be as lucky, but still a lot of positives to take away. Enjoy the win. It likely won't be that common this season, so I find savoring the few we get is a much more productive use of our time.

We won, but Bryce and Canalas still blow

30-0 shutout my man. If I'm right it's been like a decade since we had a game like this. For now, enjoy the win. Lots to be happy about from this game.- 198 replies

How the fug did this franchise fail with Baker

Pretty much on point. I’ll admit, I used to be one of Cam Newton’s staunch defenders back in the day, so I understand the instinct to pull positives out of a QB you believe is unfairly judged. I'm sure I was quite overbearing as well with that, lol. Is some of the criticism of Bryce Young over the top? Maybe. But there are also plenty of fair points. For what the Panthers gave up to draft him, you’d expect a bigger return by year three, not the level of struggle we’re still seeing. Sure, the offense as a whole rarely looks in sync, but that doesn’t excuse us from asking whether Bryce is worth the pick. At this point, the bigger question is how the Panthers want to move forward. Do they lean into Bryce’s limitations, tighten the support around him, and hope improved coaching/playcalling can make it work? I’m not even sure Canales’ system is a natural fit for him. Or do they reset at QB, target someone who fits Canales’ offense better, and ideally land a player with the off-structure ability and athleticism to elevate the rest of this unit’s flaws? AKA what Bryce Younf was supposed to be, but with the typical NFL arm and athleticism to back that up. That type of QB might succeed where Bryce has struggled. For now, the team stays the course with Young. But if he doesn’t show real growth soon, it’s going to force some tough decisions. Granted, we should've made those tough decisions a couple of years ago...
