  1. I'm with you, I blame Brady for this game. Idc about the comeback, its the fact that we had to go no huddle where Sam was calling his own plays at the line to look halfway decent on offense. Situationally, he's still predictable, still calling the same intermediate routes that every team in the league knows is coming, no variety of any kind on play calling, and worst of all, no growth at understanding the ebb and flow of the game. As I said in the game thread, he needs to go. 22 games of data shows me what I need to know about him as a coordinator. As good as he is at drawing up plays, he's terrible at calling them.
  2. Brady needs to go. 22 games is enough, this guy is not ready to be an NFL offensive coordinator. The play calling this entire game from the beginning has been absolutely horrendous. It shouldn't take CMC to make an offense even be average in today's NFL.
  3. Agree 100% with this. David DeCastro would be better and he's sitting on a couch right now waiting for a call. We could resign Okung to get Erving to fill one of the G gaps. There are options available now, but we just aren't kicking those tires apparently.
  4. Then our genius OC should know that and use Robbie accordingly. It's a shame all the work he put in last year just be told to run go and comeback routes.
  5. I think Robbie is best in the slot....why we continue to play him outside I'll never understand. I do agree that Darnold doesn't trust Robbie, and it's probably from the time that they were together in NY. Before last season, Anderson's catch rate was around 54%. Last year, his catch rate was the best he ever had at 70%, and he has definitely regressed this year, only catching 45%. He needs to go back to the slot where he excels at and he was productive.
  6. I think he should definitely be a starter. When Erving gets back, put him at LG and hope to god they see reason and finally play Deonte Brown at RG because Miller and Daley should never be on the field in a Panthers uniform again! (Sorry, still pissed. My wife and in-laws are Eagles fans smh.)
  7. Agreed. Steve Esminger didn't get the credit he deserved for calling the plays for that team. Although Brady may have brought the scheme to LSU, Steve was the triggerman on the playcalls. I think the scheme is versatile, but I feel like Brady doesn't have a feel for calling plays the way we as a team need.
  8. You absolutely can scheme around an average QB and O-Line if you know what to do and understand what you are seeing. They played soft zones all day because tape shows we like the intermediate areas of the field, so you run quick hitters and slants until they come up and then the intermediate stuff that he likes to run will become available. He knew about the twist stunts they run with the front all week and did absolutely nothing to counter it with the plays he called. In my mind, he can go somewhere else to get his experience, we need someone who can actually game plan and adjust without having the football cheat code that McCaffery is. We have plenty of weapons, but fail to use them effectively week to week because he is inconsistent. He's starting to remind me of Dan Henning and that FTS mentality.
  9. Joe Brady is the problem (not that I absolve Darnold today, because he was terrible too). I have never seen such terrible situational play calls during in my life with this level of talent on offense. We don't throw to Marshall at all, Robby is.....idk what Robby is right now but he's flat out terrible with his route running and has been lazy . Hubbard was getting yards all game and we decide to get pass happy when it's clear as day the interior was not handling the twist stunts well and giving up immediate pressure. DJ had Slay on him, but there is a way to create mismatches to free him up. No drag routes, no quick slants, no screens on the edges to take advantage of the soft zones the Eagles were playing. None of this makes any sense for someone who is supposed to be an offensive prodigy or whatever he's supposed to be. We are the most obvious team in the NFL on 3rd down and situational play calls because the coordinator thinks that this is LSU and we're in the SEC. We don't have the O-Line to act as if we can do what we want, even if you know it's coming. We can't walk into games and run the game plan without having to make adjustments at halftime. Overall, this is the problem with designing an entire offense around C-Mac because without him, nothing has looked particularly good the past 2 weeks, including Darnold. If Brady cannot adjust, then he needs to go and have Sean Ryan take over playcalling.
  10. Just curious, who would've looked good with the way the O-Line has blocked the 2nd half? No one would look good behind this line right now, idc who they are.
  11. Joe Brady is as predictable as they come...he needs to go, the O-Line needs to be retooled, and stop running hitch routes every third down... no drag routes, no wheel routes, or option routes of any kind. Are we this dependent on Christian McCaffery that we can't execute basic principles of offense?
  12. I was hesitant on Snow when he was first hired, but seeing the scheme evolve throughout last year and now this year has gotten my hopes up on the potential on the defense. As far as Burns goes, pay that man sooner rather than later because I feel his price is about to go WAY up!
  13. Did it with the thought of trying to fortify the lines for the future as well as bringing more of a spread look that Brady ran when he was OC at LSU.
  14. I will admit that I was lost when FA began with what the FO was doing, but after letting the smoke clear from yesterday, I think that the D will be much improved and gives us a chance to be more competitive next year. The main concern on everyone's mind is injuries, but if that can be mitigated and a few more pieces in the back added via draft/FA, this D would cause a LOT of havoc due to the versatility of fronts that can be deployed.
  15. This is one of those wait and see signings. I don't believe that this will move the needle that much as far as O-Line improvement but stranger things have happened. Anyone have idea of contract structure?
  16. I would definitely kick the tires on this to see if the move could be made.
  17. In one word: Optimistic. Hurney is gone, and we seem to have drafted some real talent after all considering how bereft everyone thought that we were, especially on defense. Bridgewater did kill some of the optimism in the back half of the season with his regression, but overall I feel that 1-2 more solid to excellent drafts and good FA targeting/resigning, we could be a perennial playoff team sooner than later. I actually think we can finally break the curse of not having back to back winning seasons...and that's saying something.
  18. Hope that they put Kevin Sumlin's name into the search...he would be the perfect coach for Cam at this point. Hopefully JR has learned from the Jim Harbaugh situation and go offense with the next coach. No more defensive coaches please.
