  1. The only time the 3-4 defense worked for the Panthers was when Kevin Greene was playing in the mid-90's and that was a very long time ago.
  2. So much of us are focusing on the 'fumble' in overtime. However, the truth is this game should have never even been in overtime. I did forget about that bone headed penalty on Farley for 15-yards on the Bucs final drive in Q4. The Panthers had the Bucs stopped inside their 20, and with Farley's 15-yard penalty that moved them up to their 35. They kicked the tie field goal with virtually no time on the clock. If the Bucs start at their 20 vs their 25....game over.
  3. Keep him….finally have a good o-line let’s not start going backwards
  4. I asked/wondered because I have not seen him. The Panthers traded up for the guy and he has been less than average. They are cutting guys and wondered if he might be next. They cut Harris and kept him for a reason and not sure I know why.
  5. Did Taylor Swift pay off these refs? Maybe she is giving their kids free tickets to her next concert
  6. I forgot about Jackson...definitely elite. The sad part of your list is that 2 of them were 'there for the taking for the Panthers'. Rumor has it that Hurney loved Herbert and was vetoed on trying to trade up. And rumor has it that Frank & McCown wanted Stroud. I believe both rumors.
  7. I would take a QB like Goff over any QB the Panthers have played since Cam. There are very few elite QB’s right now: Mahomes, Burrow, Allen might be about it. Stafford was elite but not sure he still is. There are others that could one day have a possibility to be elite.
  8. Don’t forget McVay dumped Goff….and he is a much better QB with the Lions than with the Rams. Goff, with one of the best offensive coaches in the league, was considered a disappointment and was traded away. Jones is still only 27. You never know what a change of scenery could do for him. At least the Panthers would not be trading away draft picks if they decided to pursue.
  9. Payton is not a likable person but he is an outstanding coach.
  10. Not suggesting we hand the QB 1 job to him. I am saying competition is good. The Panthers need a new QB room. The QB free agents are limited. They need to bring in several guys to compete. Whoever doesn't 'cut it' is sent packing during final cuts after training camp. No way should they go into next season with just Bryce Young. Not having QB competition this year was a huge miss especially after the results BY had last year. He should have been pushed to win the job.
  11. I see no reason why having Jones come in to compete to be QB 1 on the Panthers next year is a bad thing. Competition is good....I say bring in as many 'guns' as possible and may the best QB win the starting job. Lack of QB competition since Cam has been a big miss for the Panthers. They brought Teddy with no competition. They brought in Sam with no competition. They drafted Bryce with no competition. Maybe if these QB's earned it instead being 'given it' the Panthers QB situation would be in a better place right now.
  12. I am glad to see Barno might be ready. Perhaps as a rotational guy on passing downs....he might be able to bring some needed pressure.
  13. Watch the Giants fire Daboll, draft S Sanders and make his dad (Primetime) the HC.
  14. Imagine if they had an 'average vs. below average' QB throwing to them each week. Each of these numbers would be even higher.
  15. Yeah he might have been hurt 2004 but what a great player in his early Panthers years. He was a “dawg”. Another parting gift from Seifart.
  16. 2002-2004: Peppers, Rucker, Buckner, Jenkins….
  17. Getting back Derrick Brown will be a big help……Brown plus Robinson is not a bad combination. Just need some Edge’s next. Would be great of Wonnum could be part of the solution. I actually think the secondary is in pretty good shape.
  18. How would Charlotte ever have concerts again if they had a grass field stadium? Good thing Tepper figured this out for us simple minded southerners.
  19. How long will Tepper really keep away is the question….and has he really gotten away.
  20. And to add to this....the Panthers cap situation was left in a horrible situation too. Not only did Fittererer pick the wrong FAs, draft the wrong guys, and made the wrong trades......but he someone left the Panthers cash strapped too and at the same time of having the worst record in the NFL. Truly the worst Panthers GM in the past 30-years, and it is not even close. I still wonder how much of this is due to the Tepper influence. Could a GM really be this bad on his own?
  21. Too early to tell if Morgan and Canales will be successful and bring NFL football back to the Carolinas or not. I think things will be more clear 1 year from now though. By November 2025, they will have had 2 off-seasons, made a decision on the starting QB, improved/or not improved the defense, and improved/or not improved the play makers on offense. If the Panthers still look like bottom dwellers than we all know that Morgan/Canales will be recycled for another duo of test dummies to work under our new beloved owner. There are many glaring needs with this team due to the past 6 years of terrible decisions. Nobody could fix this mess in 1 off-season, and realistically not in 2 off-seasons, but we should at least see some progress.
  22. Yeah - makes us wonder why he was fired....not really. We already know why he was fired.
  23. Trade back sounds good but will there be any team willing to trade up…..that is the key question.
