Wilks is a leader and has some good points but the Panthers management may want a fresh start, and retaining him might feel like treading water. Personally, I want an offensive minded coach that plays a more wide open game than Rivera and Wilkes bring to the table. Some fresh young minds like Steve Steichen Eagles OC and Mike Kafka Giants OC would certainly fit that bill if they are available.

Loyalty to a fault is great and being a diehard Panthers fan I always want to go to the playoffs if we have any glimpes of being playoff caliber team but presently I just don't see that this years team meets that standard. I thought the team might have a slim margin of hope to be half way competive if they made the playoffs but after watching them get blown out by the Steelers so badly Sunday, all my hopes were shattered and realization set in.

Right Tackle Taylor Moton has remained a rock for the Panthers Offensive. He may not be the very best the position has to offer, but he’s certainly close to it and has been a rare constant amidst a volatile situation for the Panthers.

My exact feelings. I don't think Tepper will commit to anything until well after the season is over and all the checks, balances and interviews pertaining to possible head coaches have been thoroughly evaluated.

If the Panthers cannot get a tight end in the draft that is an upgrade over the ones they have, I hope a good one is available in free agency or obtained in a trade.

I believe that the Panthers will decide to keep Eddy Pineiro who doesn't have an injury history like Gonzalez.

I could easy see the Panthers losing at least two of the last three remaining games with the Lions, Bucs and Saints.

Plus,they seem to have a lack patience that's causing them to shoot to quickly.

Wilks seemed to have the bull by the horns and was heading the team in the right direction until the bull hit a brick wall today and may have ended his future as the Panthers 2023 Head Coach.

This coaching staff is proving that they cannot adjust on the fly but want to be stubborn and stick to an original game plan, even if it's not working.

I feel your assumption is probably 100% correct.

Certainly seems the Panthers have a history of finishing seasons in a position where they just miss the top cream of the crop talent in the NFL Draft.

Even if the Panthers presently had better offensive weapons, the current game plans the coaches come up with wouldn't use them to full advantage.

The bad part is that the Panthers didn't just get beat, they got destroyed at home by a team that shouldn't have been any better than them. A total let down from top to bottom.
