  1. You are usually correct on your assumptions. Soooooo............
  2. Most draft boards project that Alabama OT Evan Neal will not get past the New York Giants picking at #5. # 5 New York Giants: Evan Neal, OT/G, Alabama Andrew Thomas struggled to begin his career. He has improved, but right tackle is a big problem because Nate Solder is a shell of his former self. Evan Neal is a 360-pound lineman who can move very well, which almost seems impossible.
  3. Since this is the 18th week the SOS should be locked in and he undoubtly took that in consideration when he wrote : "The Panthers’ .507 SOS is worse than the Giants (.537) and the Jets (.515)"
  4. I realize Neal, the Alabama offensive tackle, is rated high but almost all NFL Pro Scouts have him projected as a playing Right Tackle in the NFL, the only offensive line postion we presently have covered. Plus, i am not sure how long he could play injury free, considering all the stress his his vast amount of weight puts on his knees,etc.. My guess is the Panthers will try trading back to obtain more draft choices. There should be several good offensive tackles and a top center available to select from, if the Panthers don't trade back to far.
  5. The Panthers have a lock on # 6 position but :PANTHERS PICK 5TH IN THE DRAFT IF … Landing the fifth pick requires the Panthers to lose and just one of the New York teams to upset their Week 18 opponent PANTHERS PICK 4TH IN THE DRAFT IF … This is the lowest the Panthers could pick. It would require a Panthers loss and wins by both the Giants and Jets, tying all three teams with 5-12 records
  6. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/nfl/carolina-panthers/article257028667.html With one game remaining, the Panthers are locked into a top-6 pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Carolina (5-11) is a 10-point underdog to Tampa Bay in a rematch from two weeks ago, where the Buccaneers won 32-6 at Bank of America Stadium. The worst the Panthers can select is sixth, which is where they are currently slated. Even if Carolina upsets Tampa Bay and the Seahawks (6-10), Bears (6-10) and Washington (6-10) lose, tying all five teams with six victories and 11 losses, the Panthers’ .507 strength of schedule is the lowest, giving them the five-way tiebreak. Carolina Panthers Tiebreakers in draft position are determined first by strength of schedule (SOS). The lower the SOS, the higher a team picks if their records are tied. After strength of schedule, tiebreakers are settled by division tiebreakers, conference tiebreakers, interconference tiebreakers and, if necessary, a coin toss. Carolina cannot select third because the Texans (4-12) have a lower strength of schedule at .498. Detroit (2-13-1) and Jacksonville (2-14) will pick either first or second. Let’s explore the three realistic draft positions the Panthers can earn once Week 18 comes to a close and what needs to happen to cause each. PANTHERS PICK 4TH IN THE DRAFT IF … This is the lowest the Panthers could pick. It would require a Panthers loss and wins by both the Giants and Jets, tying all three teams with 5-12 records. The Panthers’ .507 SOS is worse than the Giants (.537) and the Jets (.515). The Giants host Washington on Sunday. The Giants have lost five straight games under second-year head coach Joe Judge and lost 30-29 to Washington in Week 2. The Jets are playing at Buffalo in another Week 18 divisional game. The Bills blew out New York in Week 9, winning 45-17. Both the Jets and Giants are underdogs in their respective matchups. Washington is favored by 6.5 points over the Giants while the Jets are 17-point dogs. Find more sports news, plus coverage from Sports Illustrated. PANTHERS PICK 6TH IN THE DRAFT IF … This is where the Panthers are slated to pick if the NFL season were still 17 weeks long. It’s most likely Carolina will pick sixth considering both the Jets and Giants are large underdogs. One thing Panthers’ fans can look forward to is if Carolina beats Tampa Bay, its draft position will not change. Coach Matt Rhule has a chance to snap the Panthers’ six-game losing streak while not hurting draft position like what happened in Week 16 last year when they beat a playoff-bound Washington team on the road. 7. But,But,the politically correct crowd might say it was demeaning to wolves to name a losing NFL team after them.
  8. The Panthers cannot go wrong if they select one of the three top rated tackle prospects or the Iowa Center,Linderbaum, a franchise type player at that position. IOL TYLER LINDERBAUM, IOWA The best center prospect we’ve seen in the PFF College era. He was already the highest-graded center in the country in 2020, but he has taken his game to new heights in 2021, earning a 95.3 overall grade.
  9. Yes,I feel we could trade down to even 12th and pick up one of the top 3 offensive tackles or the top center. PFF Big Boards Overal Top Ten Prospects have these OL men in the 2022 NFL Draft as follows : #5 OT Neal Alabama # 6 Center Linderbaum Iowa # 9 OT Gross Miss. State #10 OT Ekwonu N.C. State
  10. Plus, most Pro Scouts have Neal rated as an NFL Right Tackle not Left Tackle.
  11. That makes sense and i feel it would be the logical thing to do but i will not be surprised if the Panthers trade back to obtain more draft picks.
  12. Antonio Brown’s career in the NFL is most likely over. It’s hard to imagine another team would give the 33-year-old an opportunity and risk all the drama he brings. Still, Brown should get the benefit of various mental health services the NFL offers players and team personnel. The league and the players’ union have plenty of resources available for anyone who needs it — if they ask.
  13. Brown was asked to enter the game twice by coaches and refused both times. He claimed he had an injured ankle and that was when he was removed from the team. However, his ankle seemed to be just fine when he was doing jumping jacks in the end zone as he was leaving the field.
  14. The place a player is selected in the NFL Draft is not always an indication that being drafted low is fool proof or high a mistake. Two good examples we can relate to among many, many others is Greg Little being taken early and and Sam Darnold being selected third overall by the New York Jets in the 2018 NFL Draft.
  15. Rhule is completly clueless when it comes to evaluating players, especially offensive linemen. He must not have watched Brady Christensen become a consensus All American while doing a bang up job at left tackle for BYU. I was surprised Christensen lasted so long in the draft and thought he was a steal going to the Panthers 70th overall in the 3rd round of the draft, since a lot of scouts were comparing him to the Chiefs Eric Fisher.
  16. If the Panthers trade back to pick up more draft choices and no blue chip left tackle is available i want them to select: Tyler Linderbaum*, C, Iowa Height: 6-3. Weight: 290. Projected 40 Time: 5.1. Projected Round (2022): 1-2. View Ranking History 12/11/21 : Linderbaum is a very polished and well-rounded player. The 6-foot-3, 290-pounder plays with good leverage and demonstrates advanced hand placement. He is able to sink his hips to anchor against bull rushes while showing quickness and agility to adjust to speed. Linderbaum looks like a safe pick to become a quality starter in the NFL, and he could be selected in the back half of the first round if he enters the 2022 NFL Draft.
  17. I am in no way defending Sam Darnold because i feel his highest upside in the NFL would be in a backup role. However, note that Tom Brady, the G.O.A.T., was shaky and inept when New Orleans Saints turned the heat up and got to him the last time they played Tampa Bay. Only a hand full of NFL QB's can thrive when the pass rush pressure is put on them, so until the Panthers offensive line problem is fixed, it would be foolish to think they can somehow find a quarterback that will have success playing behind the current one.
  18. That just about sums the Panthers sitution up perfectly.
  19. You are correct. Skill positions are important but football games are won or lost in the trenches. The Panthers defensive line is still somewhatl weak against the run and you know the deal on the below average offensive line.
  20. What is the name of the QB that in your opinion that could win a championship at the NFL level, but won't be among the first 5 QBs selected?
  21. I am UNC diehard fan also and i don't want him.
  22. Bingo. No QB is going to succeed with the Panthers until they get a quality NFL type offensive line. To think outherwise would be foolish.
