https://www.yahoo.com/sports/nfl-draft-2023-grades-eagles-004629654.html 6. Carolina Panthers (A-) They only landed five players and, hey, second-round WR Jonathan Mingo and/or fifth-round S Jammie Robinson could be winning lottery tickets. But this was all about the bold move following the scouting combine to pry the No. 1 pick from the Bears and turn it into former Heisman Trophy winner Bryce Young. And GM Scott Fitterer, HC Frank Reich and owner David Tepper – had they not surrendered a slew of picks and WR DJ Moore – probably would have lost out had they not perhaps overpaid as early as they did. With Tepper's long-awaited QB1 finally in place, should be fun to see what Young can do – especially in a division that seems eminently winnable.

F Eku Leota Finishes 2023 Senior Bowl/NFL Draft Scouting Report, Prediction, analysis The former Auburn standout could surprise some scouts . There was a lot of optimism last season that the former Ashville, NC native would have a splashy year on the Plains after a strong 2021 season. The former third-team all-B1G player was making a name for himself at Auburn, harassing SEC quarterbacks to the tune of 23 tackles, 10.0 TFL, and 7 total sacks. If he could maintain consistency in 2023, there was reason to believe Leota would have a shot at being drafted somewhere in the late third round or early fourth come Draft weekend. Then he suffered a season-ending injury against LSU this year and his final campaign was shut down. While on the field however, he registered 2 sacks and 17 tackles, but a strong Reese's Senior Bowl was needed to put him back in "draftable" conversation. While he didn't register many tackles in the game on Saturday, his practices and interviews with NFL teams may have certainly saved his stock. He may not be a first-round pick, but whoever takes a shot on him will certainly get an easy project to develop into a quality NFL starter. Here's where things stand with the former Auburn, Northwestern, and Ashville High star. EKU LEOTA SCOUTING REPORT HEIGHT: 6-4 WEIGHT: 255 What he does well Everyone who's watched Eku says the same thing about his size: He's NFL-ready with his current height and weight, so there won't be a need to bulk up the defender. Despite his size, Leota was quick to get off the snap and track the ball down, closing the gap between himself and the quarterback or running back. What needs work While he's one of the fastest rushers on the field, he has trouble escaping big-bodied tackles once they get a firm grip on him. His athleticism could use some work, and teams will be wary of the arm injury he sustained in October. Current Projection ROUND 6, SEATTLE SEAHAWKS – Pete Carrol's squad showed they were playoff-ready last year, except the pass rush held them back from keeping opposing offenses off the field. They will look early in the draft to bulk up the defensive line, and Eku could be a late-round gem to add to the rotation so that the Hawks might go deeper in the playoffs next season.

This is tragic and heart breaking. My prayers are extended to Shaq Barrett and family.

The Panthers can pickup someone just as good as Clowney and for less money.

Yes, it the time of year when the players get tougher and games get rougher. -
Looks like the signing were: 9 defense and 4 offense. A pretty good mixture of player positions that needed filled in

I bet that was a good game to watch for the Toronto fans. -
I agree that Leonard Floyd (who will turn 31 in September) would be an ideal fit in the Panthers proposed 3-4 defensive. However, considering his age, I wouldn't want the Panthers to over paid and tie themselves up in a real long term contract.

It is a little early to try picking a 2023 NFC South winner. However, if i had to go out on an early limb and predict the final outcome, I would have to say it would be between the Panthers and Saints, with the winner being determined by which QB Young or Carr that had the best season. 1. Panthers 2. Saints 3. Falcons 4. Bucs

Since we have obtained a lot of good quality coaches that should have valued input, undrafted free agency should be interesting for awhile
-
It would seem a team has to prove a player is injured but that is a question I asked myself.
-
I can see where Matt Corral would be upset but he needs to take the high road by keeping quite, making sure he doesn't becomes his own worst enemy.
-
That was the way they have been. They had to score lights out to win because of the weak defense.

Looks like a pretty good, well balanced, overall draft to me.

Coach Reich on NFLN in case anyone missed it

The Panthers played the # 1 overall selection to the public and other NFL teams like a fine tuned violin by keeping the draft card selection close to their vest.. Lots of people, including myself, thought C.J. Stroud would be the pick, but as it kept getting closer and closer to draft time we had figured out that Bryce Young would be the choice. -
Jammie Robinson, S, Florida State Height: 5-11. Weight: 191. Arm: 29.63. Hand: 8.75. Official 40 Time: 4.59. Projected Round (2023): 4-6. 4/24/23: In 2022, Robinson totaled 99 tackles, an interception and five passes broken up. Sources say he is a good player, but undersized. They feel Robinson might have to be a nickelback in the NFL. 7/1/22: Robinson has been a steady contributor and run defender over the past three seasons. He recorded 62 tackles in 2019 and followed that up with 74 of them in 2020. In each of those seasons, he notched an interception and four passes defended. Robinson put together his best season in 2021 with 84 tackles four interceptions, two forced fumbles and three passes defended. Robinson is short and light, so he could stand to add some weight for the NFL.

I like the fact that Jammie Robinson is an aggressive safety with plenty of toughness needed at the position. He played a big role in making tackles at the college level with at least 40 each season he played. Not sure were the "can be lost in coverage" you stated comes from because he can break on the ball well, leading to pass breakups and interceptions.

S Jammie Robinson: NFL Draft scouting report We break down Florida State safety Jammie Robinson with a scouting report heading into the 2023 NFL Draft Photo by Don Juan Moore/Getty Images The Carolina Panthers drafted Robinson with the 145th overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. The Panthers' defense keeps improving, with Robinson adding solid depth to the safety position. The team signed Vonn Bell in the offseason to pair with Jeremy Chinn, so Robinson likely adds depth along with Xavier Woods and Eric Rowe. Former Florida State Seminoles and South Carolina Gamecocks safety Jammie Robinson spent two seasons with both programs with a lot of playing time to prepare him for the next level. His skills translate well to the pros, and it will be interesting to follow where his career goes. Over four seasons, Robinson accumulated 318 tackles including 15 for loss with seven total interceptions. He also finished with 16 passes defended, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Jammie Robinson: Scouting Report Robinson is an aggressive safety with plenty of toughness needed at the position. He played a big role in making tackles at the college level with at least 40 each season he played. Robinson can break on the ball well, leading to pass breakups and interceptions. As for the weaknesses, length could be an issue, and Robinson’s numbers at the NFL Combine were a bit underwhelming. Mock Draft landing spots Robinson can expect to go on Day 3 in the late fourth or early fifth round. ESPN’s Matt Miller has him landing with the Panthers in the fifth round, and CBS’ Ryan Palmer sees him going to the Texans in the fourth. Dane Brugler from The Athletic projects the Browns to select him in the fourth. NFL.com’s Chad Reuter has him going as early as the third round, though, heading to the Las Vegas Raiders at pick No. 100.

That could very well happen. In addition to running the ball more, hey may throw more short ball control passes that move the chains and keep the defense rested and off the field.
