Olsen was drafted with pick 31. Why are we comparing the epitome of a quality TE without burst to the bust of Pitts (terrible hands for a receiving TE) and Howard (just an all around bust)? Olsen was a great 2nd round TE taken 2 picks early. That's what Warren looks like...well he looks slower than Olsen by a bit to me. In no reality is that worth a top 10 pick IMO. It's going to be fun watching the team that drafts him realize his speed and size won't look the same in the NFL. Maybe we can trade for him like we did with Olsen in year 3 or 4 of his rookie deal.

It is Quiet...Too Quiet: Thanks Dilworth Neighborhood Grille?

Too early to tell. It's different in that aspect but if the draft is the same old then it's just polishing the turd. Not going on prodays was a basic step towards bare minimum. We will see. -

I think the Teppers are terrible at football but they aren't clueless about everything. Tepper made a big effort to distance himself from the draft last year after the debacle of a process of 23'. He clearly learns somethings but then the 24' draft is the same old since he showed up with 'new' faces even with his efforted distance. Look I want improvement to happen. I want the Teppers to become better owners. I just need to see more than basic pr moves that anyone with experience would suggest to belive it's truely meaningful. Even if they are not meddling to the previous levels, and that's an if still, then they need to learn to hire better. I think Tillis has been their only quality hire since purchasing the team. Morgan sticking around after his work from '23 was a terrible sign, even if I loved him as a player. Keeping Evero giving the quality of his work is a terrible sign too. Morgan can make all the faces he wants and sit in his chamber as long as he wants but he isn't impressing me at all as a GM. The last draft was not good and I'm waiting to see if meaningful change shows up there this year. Plenty of people said Young would struggle, just not the useless tslking heads. I also remember the consensus flipping to Young once the leaks started. The leaks are 2 for 2 the last 2 years. We are 2 weeks out and I haven't seen the obvious signs so that may be an improvement too...even if it is also a basic concept in the NFL. -
Sanders isn't worth it. He looked like a polished but limited QB. They should have learned after Pickett but finding out they are desperate enough to do something that dumb wouldn't be surprising given their situation. Take that trade. Take a trade with a discounted value too. 21 is fine. Getting 2nds in 26 and 27 vs a 1st in 26 is fine. This is a 5 win team that needs a lot of chances are young talent. The people in the 20s won't be thst much different than at 8 in this draft. I would rather have their 2nd than the rest of the picks this year. Getting a 2nd this year would be ideal given the talent in that range.

The only people that don't like Olsen in that job are the people who hated watching their team play him. Years of ex-players that make mute a better option during games make him a stud in comparison.

Brady is a terrible TV personality and Olsen kills it.

That entire unit deserved a hard reset. Just draft someone in the 2nd or 3rd and they should beat out Scott or another Franklin. Gunner is cool but at 29 it would be nice to let a young guy get reps to see if there could be any further development. I don't mind special teams guys sticking around but they have to be amazing for me to really care.

Jalen Milroe accepts invitation to the green room for the draft.

I would still skip it. Carter should go that way but droping a couple of picks with cameras in my face is something I would avoid personally. -

I wouldn't go this year if I wasn't Hunter or Ward. Who knows how the teir 2 guys break in this draft. Go hang out with family or just go fishing or whatever instead. -
He was saying so but who knows. I agree. Dude has been nothing but empty hype. The opposite of a McDermott here.

And Nicole too now.

The problem with bringing Evero back is that decision falls on DC or at least that was the public stance. If he fails then DC is responsible. They are building around him big this year and are projected to draft heavey on the D side. DC doesn't have to be hands on that side but willingly brining back a coordinator that went 32/32 while putting up historic numbers would still fall at his feet hard. What quality DC would he get for year 3 while probably being on the hot seat in thst situation? I do not get why Evero is still here from any angle.

Reason for Liking or Disliking Prospect X at 8 Overall
Waldo replied to CarolinaLivin's topic in Carolina Panthers
I would rather have Ez vs the other pass rushers. Dude is a football player and not a workout warrior. This year they need a football player and not a project. Not sexy but if we can't trade back I would still be fine taking him at #8. IDGAF about other people's boards, just not important to me. Walker has upside and would be the pick if we didn't stink at development and weren't so desperate for impactful play. -
It was a classic over reaction. They worked so much elsewhere that going only run support at SS was a spaze move because of how bad run support was last year and how good he is with it. I do not see that one working out and if the front 7 is as improved in run support as it looks then he is useless. Once clowney goes down thr pass rush will dry up is my guess. Not a good combo with him at SS.
-
Lol they messed up. Moehrig was such a bone head move IMO.
-
He looks good to me. He doesn't project well to the 4-3 but that isn't what we run. He looks like a football player vs a project. His height is fine, so he isn't 6'6". 22 reps so not week but still needs work there which is very attainable. He will be 22 in September. Lots to like. This would be a solid pick at 8 or better yet a hop back and then take this guy after others take some of the other 'yeah, but' guys.
-
Mostly but there are guys that are safe picks too. The obvious freaks are easy to guess correctly but guys like DJ Moore were locks to be solid. A balanced WR that has good hands and runs routes succeeding? Dude peodudced with some terrible play around him and fans here crapp3d on him for not being a top 5 WR when all he did was put up 1k seasons. A lot of this is overthinking and hype.
-
Plenty of investment into run protection at this point. With the SS they signed I wouldn't mind a FS. I think CB could help but I would rather see that help deep if the pass rush is as it's looking at this point.
-
Washington went from a 4 win team to 12 last year. Change of ownership, coaches and a franchise QB can have that effect. 5 is overly dramatic IMO but 10 isn't.
-
I at least get the Walker hype based on his ability. Williams looks like a weak 4-3 DE. I would rather have Golden from what I could watch of those videos.
-
I would literally be happy with just a 2nd in a trade back with less compensation given the weakness of this class. I do think OTs look better but with Moton at 30 mil this year and this teams unwillingness to make players uncomfortable with competition I see that as unlikely. Hopefully someone blind falls in love with Sanders. Just like in free agency it only takes one team to make it work.
-
That would be epically stupid considering the options later in this draft. Blackshart shouldn't make most team's final rosters.
-
Trade back would still be the best option. Getting an additional 2nd would be really welcome. It's not a non answer, it's beyond the best option if possible at this point. Grabbing a WR, FS and an edge or DL before the 3rd would be way better than anything those guys bring IMO. So many of those guys at 8 are solid but getting an additional solid guy would be so much more of a win given the state of the team and how this draft lines up.
-
Load up early and roll the rest over to the next year and beyond while getting better value on those picks.
-
It's a great draft to trade back but that's a bit drastic. Then again talk about playing the odds lol. They would have to trade current players away to make room.
