He isn't fooled. He just likes guys who are terrible or not ready for thr gig, too soon or too late. He has a thing for being sold and he keeps getting sold bags of poop. He has zero idea of how any of this should be run and his input is even worse than the people he hires. He didn't hire help with the GM hire who he promoted be cause they liked him after a disastrous year of terrible work and he stacked the HC hire with Caldwell while ending up with the GMs friend. All while keeping the weird and unearned Seahawks pipeline open for whatever mysterious reason. That's not being fooled but being a fool.

Young to Miami (Trade proposal via fox)
Waldo replied to DaveThePanther2008's topic in Carolina Panthers
It's too good to be true. We are going to have to wait until the offseason. I'm fine with a straight cut but would be happy with any compensation they can get for Young. -
Sounds more patched up than fixed. He is on a 1 year deal for 10 mil. Go ahead and sign him to a 30+ deal and cut some talent to make room for that contract and see it less patched up.

Better than Thomas. Sanders isn't a good blocker yet but he still at least looks at Thomas' level if not a smidge better.

Prepare your mind for Bryce's return. Dalton is bad.
Waldo replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Well I wanted to burn it all down and they are doing an incredible job of making that happen. -
DC is looking like a Young of HCs. His passing game is predictable and he isn't adapting well. Also if he was so good working with QBs then why can't he see what Dalton is and isn't while working with that reality?

DC isn't it. He is just a guy running someone else's offense blindly.

BREAKING: Miles Sanders available for trade
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I'm not even sure eating cap helps drum up a trade. Behind this line he has been pedestrian. If not a trade then they need to start looking towards finding an excuse to IR him. That has zero to do with Brooks. He is in the way and Chuba needs someone to rotate. -
It's a system where when you mess up it starts slipping. We are the example of that. The Saints have slipped with the Carr contract. He isn't worth that and it's showing. Now they have to dump good talent and wait to eat their mistakes. They also could have sold on some guys earlier. It's not like they are bad at drafting.

That's a great sign. I wasn't sure where he was at now but I knew where he was coming from.

Fields could be serviceable. My problem is his attitude and the fact a young guy will get drafted sooner than later because Fields is a bridge guy. He didn't come in with a great attitude if you have heard the stories of his rookie year with Foles I believe. I'm not sure he is ready to be that guy yet and might need another year of maturity. He is a bridge guy at this point in his career, his passing skills need long-term work but he can start if the situation isn't bad.

The bill always comes due eventually. It's impressive they pushed it back this far but they need some kind of reset. The fact the Panthers are tight with cap with the level of talent on the roster is so much worse. Yes it clears up quicker but it's not like we have been using it well in the past. And that is as recently as this year... Seems like they need to figure out the balance of when to push and when to eat cap. I guess the 49ers are somehow affording guys and I never hear about their cap issues. IDK but the next evolution is due because the Saints figured it out and now it's running them over.

Maybe, maybe not. Daniels didn't look like a guy who was ready to start either but has done just fine. Stroud looked like a guy who could sit and improve but did just fine. It's hard to guess. I am all for having a decent other option and letting them compete. It's good for them and if they can't win the starting gig then they shouldn't be starting yet IMO.
-
I haven't looked at him enough but he looks like a top NFL QB prospect. Sanders looks more polished mechanically but Ward looks like a better prospect from what I have seen...which is still too little.
-
It's unusual for that many draft picks to get that many chances at reps. It's good for them and the team. Let it rip and see who can improve.

Playing rookies vs 33 year old isn't tanking. It's doing what they should because they do not have to tank to lose.

Mike Kaye: Panthers might start Bryce Young final 7 games
Waldo replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
He shines in practice and garbage time. Keep playing him and watch the D tighten up and eat his lunch, even the backups. I also don't remember them blitzing either which he can't handle. -
Taking on Watson contract if the compensation is right
Waldo replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
I hope so. He should be happy with that because it's all guaranteed and then he can go play anywhere he wants....that would touch him lol -
Really Good Video Analysis of Andy Dalton vs Falcons
Waldo replied to Hoenheim's topic in Carolina Panthers
Run the ball, even if it's Blackshear over Sanders who can't run for poo. Dalton is Dalton. Some good and some bad. He always had more turnovers then you wanted but he also scores. If he is made to feel like it's on him that's what you get. Chubba with 20 caries going into the 4th would be a great sign vs the crap 13 that were called on Sunday. I get what the leauge averages are but there is nothing average about this team. Just run the ball and if Sanders is in the way then trade him while eating his cap so someone else can get a try. -
Taking on Watson contract if the compensation is right
Waldo replied to TD alt's topic in Carolina Panthers
Is this to trade and dump Watson or to actually put him on the active team? He can't even beat out Dalton right now either so if it's not just a cap eating for picks thing than fug him and his contract. -
In what strange parallel dimension is LB our biggest need
Waldo replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think without Shaq we are lacking a dime and nickle guy. Add in what happens to that D and who knows. Jewell sure isn't playing in a 4-3. -

He just didn't look good himself this year IMO. Also being a better on a tip D is what usually happens to the meh guys. Do the averages. We do and ILBer is one with Shaq likely done. Just make him Walaces backup. -

Waldo replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
They need to be picking an C most likely. Yeah oline and dline as 2 picks is a good plan. QB. OLBer with one from free agency. Safety. Maybe another RB or CB. I think Wallace already replaced him and not Shaq. Jewell isn't good enough to be the ILBer that can pass protect. He is already a backup with Wallace outplayed him. They need another ILBer for sure if Shaq is done which is likely unfortunately.
