"We should have traded Burns" - a rebuttal
Waldo replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
There have been some crazy numbers thrown around for his contract. I really disliked the 'getting paid for what I did yesterday' stuff. I wouldn't even have a problem asking him to play on his 5th year option. 7 sacks, 2 9 sack season and this year is 12.5? That is not top contract numbers and 7 total FFs where Hasaan has 5 just this year? Pay the man fine but let's not be ridiculous about it. -

If it goes poorly the question is with what RB? Keep Burns or trade him, the coaching is priority # 1. Giants are in the playoffs lol. -

The only real reason to not trade Burns for that package is because it would have looked awful in regards to Wilks being able to have a legitimate year. CMC and RA all made sense and were great moves. Trading Burns would have looked bad. We can still trade him. Whatever but if he signs a giant new deal then expectations change real fast. -
Can Sam Darnold play himself into becoming the 2023 starter?

Ron also didn't know he would be eliminated if he lost this past weekend and then clarified that "he thought they would win and only focused on what would happen if they won." so no surprises here other than how great of a teammate and person Heinicke is. I have no idea how Howell plays but it would have to be awful to not have given him more time considering the situation for them this year.

It literally takes another QB to get Ron to do what he should have already done...

Rapoport and Pelissero talk head coach openings
Waldo replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
I like and respect your skepticism but I think Steichen looks like a great candidate and his work stands up to scrutiny. If there is a problem with him I can't see it. I would rather take a chance on him over JH who wants absolute control when his offense was what kept him from a SB. No guarantees but I'll take the coach that made 3 QBS look their best over the rest as it stands now. -

I literally had no idea. I just find it all funny and have zero skin in that game sir. I will probably keep calling it USC like I have my entire life just because I don't live in California or even really care about either school which makes the entire thing even funnier to me personally. -
Chicken is what you order when you can't afford better food or your doctor makes you. I will only make exception for good wings, not those drum and flaps BS. They do make great pets though. What other pet poops eggs?

Wait there is a USC in California? Lol I thought that was UCLA. -
Edit: Link they knew the day before.

It was reported before the game. The fans thought it might be cancled and then they dumped the news that morning I want to say around 11 as confirmation. I remember that week, it was crazy AF. Went from 'poor guy' to vilian in 24 hours.

I get that but it was infront of the coach and GM in the parking lot the day before the game right? And not on the field mid game. It's 2 different kinds of trauma, add in the circumstances and it chages the dynamics of the trauma and coping process even more. Both are awful but on different spectrums. I think they were shook and then pissed off on how it was handled so they galvanized around that in the coping process and the NFL lost their control on the situation. I agree that some of the suggestions are a bit much. It was a scary injury but also looked like a freak injury.

It's ok to have guys who are a little injury prone as long as they aren't paid at a level that they need to be available. Unfortunately we crossed that line with Jackson. Jackson on his cirrent deal vs Jackson on the deal he is worth has a substantial gap. That 2.2 mil would look good on a player who isn't constantly not available next year or on a rookie we draft if he is tradable.

One owner won some games his first 5 years as owner. The other did not. The other also had a set of balls on his desk so I have to ask which one isn't a pervert?

All you have to do is run for more than 185 yards in a game and he isn't terrible. I just don't see how that equals being a starter by choice. I kind of want someone to take that shot so we can all watch it playout like Rivera in DC, just not here please. I respect him turning it over less this year but he is still a player I would much rather play against than cheer for if we are all taking winning seriously. -
I'm not sure with his current contract and expectations that he could do more than resign to avoid it. He obviously signed up to not be in charge so not being given that shouldn't be at all surprising really. Unless it's in his contract there shouldn't be any guarantees that he suddenly steps up into the GM with power role post Rhule, that is just speculation and hope from posters around here and the media. For all we know he could already be on borrowed time, I certainly have no idea WTF is really going on inhouse at this time other than massive auditions that have gone on by everyone smart enough to know the game.
-
How about show me one non-mistake lol
-
He was Rhule's personal ball washer so it actually sounds like a promotion regardless of 'title'. He is actually doing a job he was never hired for since Rhule was fired. Just call the new GM the GM's GM lol.

I would not consider these 2 really comparable. Most people don't morn murderers as much as random victims of life fugging them. The fact it isn't known, at least not publicly, what went down and how only adds to the situation and why they are not playing this week. Those teams are shook and the NFL's handling of it only made it worse. The Cheifs won that game and stopped an 8 game losing streak. It looks like that had the opposite affect that this had on the teams.
