Smitty goes off on CLT on WFNZ
Waldo replied to Move the Panthers to Raleigh's topic in Carolina Panthers
He needs to actually watch him play. It's year 2 and they had to spend a top 10 pick on a guy who he could have been. Put up or STUF -
He certainly fits their mold...
-
I disagree. He showered up to the Panthers still a diva thst was brought in to save Rhule and be a franchise QB. He left how he is now in Tampa. He had a huge ego in Cleveland and it's documented how bad it was. Both can be true and would explain why someone that talented looked so bad here. Even Sam had a resurgence under Wilks when they switched to small ball with running being the first option vs be a franchise QB and save us that was Rhule's MO. Scared straight if you will.
-
Baker's ego after his rookie year was a problem. He showed up here with it dented but we killed that for him. The rest I agree with.
-
Fair. I was just trying to focus on the current mess but they do deserve to be lumped in with the rest at this point.

Plenty of young QBs go to bad teams. That doesn't mean the QB isn't also part of the problem. Baker played well for the Browns but Baker had a Baker problem. Getting sent to the Panthers and enduring that hell sure appears to have motivated him. Teddy and Sam were always backup level guys who kept getting shots due to limited supply but the supporting cast does effect their effectiveness. Winston will always be goofy turnover machine but we he looks like a good option you know you are in QB hell. AR was always going to break and it was well talked about. D Jones looks much better with an offensive line but for how long. How about the 49ers ruined Lance when Purdy made it from thr other side of the draft? Said it before. I don't fear trading Young inside the NFCS. If he has succes agaisnt you then just fire the DC on the spot because that’s a bottom D. Even as a backup I don't think he can come in and win a game. Just more excuses from people not watching him play.

For 3 years we signed and drafted poorly. Now PS guys from other teams have more upside. LoL
-
Dude got punked by the OC that took his old job in week 1 of the season and his new job on a 4th down conversion. DC trying to be aggressive is some weak sauce and always will be. Toothless

You see, this is why I'm more critical of Dave Canales

Yup. Same story. Tepper has a type and it's slinger of BS that's built to fail. I still can't belive he signed up for this after living through 2023. Freaking hilarious -

I have seen little to indicate he should be a HC. All noise and nothing to show for it. WTF is Evero still doing here? Dalton? Corbett already back on IR? I goes on and on. But he is just one of the many problems. I'm just tired of all these goobers ruining football. -
I don't think we are as close as some think. He isn't good but he isn't at his worst either. I think he slips by the easy early part of the schedule and then runs into a playoff team that finally embarrasses everyone. Then it will be a rotation of awful until this season mercifully ends.
-
Sure. Then they can add another QB to the IR in a couple of games...
-
I just think it's time to do better. There isn't much in the rear view i miss in the Tepper eror
-
Locked in to making it not what it is. Zero adaptability to reality. Whatever, saw this one coming unfortunately
-
The SF people hated him after losing a great DC. His in game stuff wasn't praised at all. I just don't think he is a good DC or HC. I wouldn't be surprised if the Jets move on after a year too. Seems to be the norm.
-
Meh it's still early so they will probably find another egg to lay before any meaningful heat enters that building. A sense of urgency has not been this crews strength to say the least.
-
Corbett is no loss, completely expected. Yikes to Hunt. People got really pissed when I said to not overpay OGs and one is on IR and the other the injury report in year 2 of those deals. I wish we were decent at drafting.
-
He was great to change up the failed Rhule culture black hole. Which was wasted the next year He had his shot and made enough mistakes to get passed over. Same with his 1 year as SF's DC. His defensive unit got worse as the year went on here and the offense stagnated after the initial burst into competency. He was a great bridge away from Rhule but Im not seeing a good HC prospect. To me it's like wanting Moore back just to get away from Young. Not really good enough IMO but I absolutely respect what he did you get away from the Rhule mess.
-
There are still people who think Wilks was a good answer and he is the DC for the Jets, who have allowed slightly more yards than thr Panthers in 2 games. Some people just like being disappointed.
-
Saints might not be as beatable as some expected. Finishing 4th in that race would be ugly. Less wins than last year would be ugly. Hard to sell building anything when they can't get to 5 wins again
-
Because they are doing the same thing with XL that they did with Young. Ignore the facts and just keep forcing it. He will get sat eventually too and we will see if he can get his head out of his arse then. As for the last drive well it is harder when thr other team has to try. Pre onside kick they were just running the clock down and it was obvious to anyone not making excuses.

Learn to laugh more. The inevitable is on its way and if that was a high point for those people the there is lots more laughter ahead.
-
Been done. Very limited upside. Most of his positives are based in nostalgia. It was always going to be a rough ride for whoever signed up for it considering the situation.
-
So just like the first half of both games so far.
