    I’ve watched most preseason nfl games so far and....honestly....Sam looks like a backup. happy feet, slow processing, etc. Just not there.

    That clip checked all the “F150” boxes Cam: Dances too much, not a hard worker, poor decision making, maybe a little lazy... Mac Jones: Does everything right (hasn’t played a real game yet).

    This is why you need competition for guys like this. You can’t really simulate pressure, but the pressure to keep your job on every kick is real. Joey is easily bending to real pressure.

    Lots of camp hero’s over the years. Many were WRs. Most didn’t pan out. Let’s see what they do in real games.

    It’ll be interesting to see what they do with Brown and Burns. Burns could easily fetch 100+ mill. Brown could end up commanding a lot as well. Thats a ton of D line money. Horn and Chinn will be interesting too but that decision is 5 years out.

    Literally EVERYONE in the nfl wants a star QB. Only 6-7 teams actually have one. Rhule and Fits tried to trade for a better QB but ultimately had to settle for Darnold. Fields might be good, but the eagles, lions, and Broncos passed on him too. Lets see what happens there before we pass judgment on Rhule.

    Elite WR money is $22+ a year avg. Robbie is 12.5. DJ is getting 11 mil next year at the end of his rookie contract. I bet DJ averages out at 21.

    You guys need to adjust your expectations. DJ Moore’s 5th year option is 11 mil. Keenan Allen is making 20. DJ will be up there.

    I think the thinking is this. They don’t want him in there without the starting offensive line and WR. However, we are so thin at Oline (and Robbie is a little banged up) that they don’t want to risk those guys being out for long. I do suspect Darnold is still struggling a bit though based on what I heard from camp last week.

    No excuses for Slye. Darnold was a calculated risk from day one. Young first round talent that may be salvageable. They tried to get better options but those all fell through. He is, and always was, Plan D. The only valid criticism is the decision to pass on Fields. We’ll see how that plays out in 10 weeks or so.

    Robby will get a 2-3 year mid-tier deal with a voidable 3rd. DJ will get a deal that’s cheap in the beginning but balloons out after Robby’s contract.

    The bears O line is completely collapsing on every play. Hard to get a decent assessment of Fields. He looks pretty calm under fire though.
