It sounds like you’re made up your mind based on what you’re posting. He definitely is struggling. It’s obvious, but who in his position wouldn’t be? I personally like what he’s doing here, but I expect him to struggle for a while. The Darnold thing will probably bite him in the ass, but I recognize he didn’t have a ton of options.

Sounds like a fair and very specific critique. Out staff was 99% new to the NFL. Of course they don’t do a lot of things well. They’ll learn. They still did better than 7 other veteran staffs.

Yep, a lot of new QBs have looked good until the league gets tape on them. I think we have the tools to put a lot of pressure on him and cover his WRs. That should be enough to beat a rookie QB.

This team is going to come together this year or next. I think Rhule’s approach to finding players is spot on. QB is the only thing that can hold the team back.

Outside of the first pick, this is what I was hoping they would do. We had a very thin roster and every draft pick rarely works out. We need as many at-bats as we can get.

I guess I’m thinking that Rhule and co want guys with the rare tools to play their position. I like Fields, but maybe they didn’t like his particular ‘toolset’ (physical or mental) or didn’t think it was much better than what Darnold had. Just guessing here. I mean, why on earth was he passed over for Trey Lance? Why is Denver staying with Teddy? Maybe teams were overthinking Fields, or maybe there was something us fans didn’t see.

Rhule and I are not seeing eye to eye this year. He’s not amazing at pass pro, but of those left, who is. I fail to see the wisdom of more 3rd and 4th round picks. Maybe they think a lot of guys are being undervalued because of the Covid year?
