interesting…. Thats all I got
-
You know who he is?
-
Small sample size. Another way to look at this. Over the past 15 years, only eight quarterbacks who weren’t drafted in the top 40 have won more than eight games as a starter for the team that chose them: Wilson (98), Prescott (42), Kirk Cousins (26), Nick Foles (21 in two stints with the Philadelphia Eagles), Trent Edwards (14), Chad Henne (13), Trevor Siemian (13) and Tarvaris Jackson (10).

Howell was championed around here as ‘the guy’ for the past year. Last draft, guys were saying we should pass on a QB and tank for Howell.
-
No. We need to wait until next year and we might need every available pick to get one.
-
Ridder goes before Willis and Howell…lol
-
Lol…some of these guys may end up being UDFAs

At one point Fitt looks over at Rhule a few times and then awkwardly and nervously laughs briefly like he knew Rhule was being strangely quiet.
-
I remember the last time we drafted a ‘pass pro technician’.
-
We’re not getting a QB next year worth a damn if we make the wildcard round.
-
You sure it wasn’t the same stupid bass getting caught over and over again?
-
RH doesn’t have media. Those were the penny saver Lady, the head of the pta, and HOA president.
-
The only ‘foundation’ you can build in the nfl is finding a stud QB. Everyone else (coaches and players) have short lives in the league.
-
Yikes. No Pickett or Corral for me then. Willis or LT.

Panthers terminating Rock Hill project agreements

And there is a direct quote from a York county council member saying RH is lying. -

This is new. See my post one page back from a few hours ago. York county is a neutral 3rd party. I trust them over a RH official who is trying to cover his ass. Read between the lines a little. When you see a county publicly cutting out and not backing one of their towns, you know something is up. -

Except now a York county official is saying Rock Hill has been lying. York county wants to bypass RH altogether to make the deal happen. -

Some updates: York county is not happy with Rock Hill right now. https://www.bizjournals.com/charlotte/news/2022/04/19/carolina-panthers-hq-rock-hill-agreement-end-new.html?ana=TRUEANTHEMTWT_CH&csrc=6398&taid=625fbd8a2d4cd2000124ad30&utm_campaign=trueAnthem%3A+Trending+Content&utm_medium=trueAnthem&utm_source=twitter York County Council member William "Bump" Roddey told the Charlotte Business Journaltoday he hopes the county can execute a new financing deal directly with the Panthers. The team and city are in a dispute over $225 million of bonds that have not yet been issued to cover infrastructure costs for the project. That dispute led the team to announce on March 7 that it was pausing the project. "The 'other (interested parties)' has to be York County," Roddey said. "By them terminating this agreement, it definitely opens the door for them to sit down with York County and work this out with us and solely with us because there is no longer an agreement with the city of Rock Hill. We couldn't have done anything unless we had permission or consent from Rock Hill because this is Rock Hill's agreement." Roddey accused the city of "basically lying" and being "very misleading" about being in compliance with the financing agreement. He added he had not heard directly from the Panthers about working out a new deal. Roddey thinks a deal can be made with the county if the team pursues one. That option could include tweaking the alternative financing offer from last month or making a new agreement. -

Tepper is at fault for thinking a little podunk town with debt problems would actually come through. My main stance here is people need to stop focusing on the billionaires in cases like this. They only get tax payer money if your elected leaders give it to them. Stop giving the NFL tax money! RH wants people to blame Tepper for all of it to hide their own mismanagement. The blame needs to be on the politicians ultimately for enabling this racket. -

I’m skeptical that is true because of how fast RH went dark and how fast York swooped in to broker a new deal. Why do that if the Panthers are at fault? See my last post. RH issued a statement today that doesn’t mention any of that. They seem to be saying no one would buy the bonds. Everything around RH’s side of the story is strange. -

Official statement from RH. Are they saying they tried to issue bonds but no one bought them? The City met all obligations required under the agreements. The City did not commit to provide unlimited City backstop, but instead agreed to use its best reasonable efforts to issue bonds to be repaid by the increase in the tax revenues generated from development of the site which protects the City’s taxpayers and the City’s favorable financial position. As set forth in the parties’ finance agreement, the City was not required – to pledge, use or contribute any City funds, revenues or assets to the repayment of the Bonds beyond the Panthers Fund Proceeds, Reserve Funds derived from proceeds of the Bonds, together with capitalized interest, if any, or [municipal improvement district (MID)] assessments imposed in accordance with the MID Governing Documents; and … the City’s reasonable best efforts to issue Bonds shall not be construed as an assurance or guarantee by the City that there will be a buyer for any of the Bonds. -

The only source I’ve seen on that is the city manager (who once said RH had already met all financial responsibilities) and that was a month ago. I haven’t seen that claim being made since from anyone else. If it was true, you’d think these politicians would be milking it for all its worth.
