Week Of: Draft Buzz, Rumors, & News (w/updates)
Krovvy replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
The local guys, and the Huddle brain trust are usually pretty far off. Walterfootball has been much more accurate over the years than our guys. They've actually nailed our pick for years. -
I think I got a chubby thinking about this line...
Krovvy replied to Ivan The Awesome's topic in Carolina Panthers
You guys do realize that any quarterback starting four seasons would have games that make them look legitimate right? Sam Darnold, even with elite talent around him, will never be a good quarterback. -
Which ones? I want you to call them out instead of passive aggressive post.
-
This is the least excited for a draft I've been in my entire life. Hardly any picks, no players I really covet, and it's essentially a lame duck season for the coach.

If they take a quarterback, and he busts, just trade him for picks then try again. It seems to work for other teams.
-
One thing you have to remember that even if we draft a bust at quarterback it doesn't mean they'll have no value. Rosen, and Darnold are two examples of absolute busts, but being an asset even after it was plain to see.
-
That's an odd article to write, it's 2022. Why not do a 2021 redraft or 2020? We have a new GM and coach.
-
So, basically everyone's mock draft.

What is the impetus for the “Keep Pounding” pushaway?
Krovvy replied to davos's topic in Carolina Panthers
David Tepper is a dickhead is why. Did you guys not see that stupid fuging Wolf of Wallstreet chest thump that he tried to get the stadium to do? What an absolute moronic thing to emulate. The movie was essentially about nothing more than greed, debauchery, and for some reason guys are drawn to it, trying to become the conman it's based on. Stupid. -
I personally think they have to hit on quarterback to have any relevance in the NFL, which has been true for the last couple decades. Selecting a tackle would mean another year without taking a shot at a quarterback, but they'll have potentially a great tackle and corner. I guess the Panthers are looking for their own Joe Thomas and Hayden combo.

The Athletic's Ted Nguyen scouts Kenny Pickett
Krovvy replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
The more I've watched Pickett, the more I'm concluding his arm problems have a lot to do with mechanics. He far too often gets bouncy, and throws off his back foot or throws on the run. When he sets his feet and stands tall in the pocket he can send it. He doesn't have an elite arm by any means, but I wouldn't say it's weak either. -
C) Trade picks next year to acquire more during this draft. They're going to try to save their jobs.

From Tepper down, it's sloppy. -
If he's the best draft day trader, then he has to also be one of the worst off and in-season traders as well. The Sam Darnold trade.
-
It's kind of just the predicament he's in. I guess the fallback would be trading for Baker Mayfield.
-
Rhule needs a quarterback to win. It's a very realistic scenario.
-
It would be amazing if we somehow took a shot at quarterback while also getting a top tackle prospect. I've gone gray since the Panthers last took a serious tackle prospect.
-
Oh, that's interesting. It may very well happen.
-
Exactly. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if Rhule pushes for a trade up to secure Pickett. It's who they need to make the offense work this year.
