Does Andy have a fault in his game?
Jay Roosevelt replied to Gapanthersfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
Pump the brakes now. Dalton is a very good veteran QB, but let's not act like he's the second coming of Dan Marino. But to be fair with how awful the QB play has been by the young QBs over the last few years (Stroud excluded) I think some of these veterans certainly do look a lot better. -
I have a admit, he did look massively improved today.

Y'all need to get off the Arch Manning hope train right now because that ain't happening. No chance that family (not to mention the league office) lets Arch play for any team that isn't on the "approved" list and you can bet your ass that ain't a list we're on.

This Andy Dalton/Dave Canales is legit

Evero is a great DC. He just has nothing to work with, and less after all the injuries. -
Official Panthers Bengals Andy Dalton revenge GameDay thread.

Good call to go for it; just didn't go out way. At least they're backed up now. -
Beck is hot garbage. I'm not sure I'd take him in the 6th round, let alone the 1st.

I can't fathom why they'd start Zavala over Christensen. I'm not sure I've ever seen worse OL play than what we saw from Zavala last year.

Cam Ward.....opinions (AKA A Thread About Shedeur Sanders)

Go watch some of his Washington State stuff; he did not have that kind of time there and was still balling. -
Brady Christensen time.

His Washington State play is probably a better gauge, TBH. Miami is pretty stacked right now and they haven't really played anyone. But he has been great this year, obviously. -

I've been a fan of his for a while now. He's QB1 in this draft, IMO. -
I'm not trading him for a 4th, period. We have no reason to rush this process if we intend to trade him; come the offseason some team will offer more than that.

Honestly, even if we end up finishing with 4-5 wins I see that as a success if some of our young players show real progress (Ickey, XL, Brooks, and Sanders especially) and we can put together a solid foundation for whoever our QB of the future ends up being. That said, I think it's entirely possible we sneak into the playoffs if Dalton plays even at an average level, especially if Jonathon Brooks can come in and give us a spark in the run game mid-season. Not that Chuba is playing poorly, but that's a potentially deadly 1-2 punch with him and Brooks.

I can see us finishing 10-7 or 9-8.

How Many Games Before Dalton Loses a Start?
Jay Roosevelt replied to kungfoodude's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think we lose on Sunday, but keep it close. The Bengals will be playing desperate at 0-3. -
My God, who decided to have the Commanders wear that color socks?

The Bills are giving me 2015 Panthers vibes.

Best and worst PFF grades from Panthers' Week 3 win
Jay Roosevelt replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I never know how to take PFF TE grades because I'm not sure how much is the grade is based on blocking vs. receiving. -
This could be a blessing in disguise if it lets Mingo and/or XL get more snaps.

I still don't think this was a Tepper decision. He would have wanted to play Bryce no matter what in hopes of him turning it around. It's far more likely Dave Canales initially said he was sticking with Bryce because he knew this, but then saw the tape and talked to a few players and realized he was losing the team and HAD to go to Tepper and say "look, this has to be done."

You get the sense that the Pats are going to run the most boring offense in the NFL no matter who is at QB. I do wonder, though, if taking the old school approach to QB development (sitting them early, playing them year 2 at the earliest) might actually be the way to go. I'm not sure there's any real evidence that the results were significantly better during that era than they are today, but if you're not a good team and don't have much hope to make the playoffs maybe it's better to be safe than sorry?
