Panthers ranked as NFL's 2nd-worst roster
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I disagree with that. I can only think of one team Id take over the Panthers; patriots At least on commanders, giants, and even the Panthers you can name a couple stars. Name one patriot star or building block without gogglefuing, just not one. -
https://www.panthers.com/news/panthers-sign-all-seven-draft-picks-from-the-2024-class Suck it NFL!!!
-
No QB had to play with less than herbo had, he was pulling a Cam for few years. Heres some proof- "NFL ranks in "Supporting Cast Rating" in terms of average team PFF rush, receiving, pass blocking and run blocking grades (everything except passing) over the past five seasons"
-
Yep a true off-season topic, much like "name your mount rushmore panthers!!" Im a herbo fan, but no chance I'd place him in the top 3 as a rookie. No rookie gets that, not even golden boy luck. This league humbles all, especially QBs. You go to earn it after the defenses find your weakness and they will.

About to find out who knows who better, Id say Todd bowels knows canalas MUCH better. I think bowels is a awful HC, but he does have lots of experience and still a great defense mind. Who knows, week one do have the most upsets it feels. But Im the wrong guy since I got them going 2-15 againss... If they can run the ball and baker goes back to pre-2022 ver, they could steal the opener in a low scoring fight.

I agree, but Id also have Daniel Jones over young, so he'd still be #31. I take that back, Id have young over JJ as well, so 30 it is.... I also think Murray was hit hard and Im no fan.

Welcome Charles Lee to Charlotte. He's the Hornets' new coach
Basbear replied to jayboogieman's topic in Charlotte Hornets
Sorry that I have not followed the NBA like years ago. Just felt like even form afar, its a good time to part ways with Ball. Miller seems ready and willing. Ball should still have enough value for a good offer as well. I box-score watch them off and on, seeing DNP over the last two years next to him followed along with weak lines when healthy(he did have one GREAT week of numbers). I can not pin point the time, just feels like Ball is no longer the guy to lead the hornets into future success. Is this wrong? -
That's true, the trade part not the rank. He had MVP type year.... (it was a down year for all) look at his stats and he is a perfect fit for shanny's system. Just add him to your long list of rhule-like takes about QBs.Lololoolols It is painful with that dash of 2023 truth.. Us panther fans are addicted to painful broken heart stuff. It was my only "byce young bad" thread and he did have that one good quarter and that that one good throw!!!11!1!!

even the green rookies and look where CJ is... oooOf, the league has no respect for young.

would anyone protest if they traded ball for __________ and turned the team over to miller ?? -
I thought it was in reference to fantasy football as well. It's too easy to clip bait these days.

Where would the Panthers be if they sat Bryce Young last season?
Basbear replied to hepcat's topic in Carolina Panthers
there was a report days AFTER stating it was cause of a injury to a panther player. just about everyone claimed BS. -
Panthers plan to revisit signing Stephon Gilmore after draft
Basbear replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
I bet he wants 8+ million AND a team with a playoff roster. Dan should just look at other options, including future cuts. -

Yes its against the rules to have a discussion, once you pick a side you are all-in and have to defend wrong.........I hate thats the way it is in the good OLD USA..... Tepper put this on us fans. I can not believe the Panthers would have been 100% better off if they just kept Rivera and fuging Marty herniay. -
Panthers agree to terms with Rashaad Penny
Basbear replied to Carolina Panthers's topic in Carolina Panthers
It should be a 400,000-100,000 SB with vet min type deal is my guess. Here is what philly signed him for and he had a meh year- "Rashaad Penny signed a It shoult 1 year , $1,350,000 contract with the Philadelphia Eagles, including $100,000 signing bonus, $600,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,350,000." -
BREAKING: Panthers signing Rashad Penny

Most guys signing after the draft are on minium type deals at best. Most time the guarantee is the issue. My guess would be 320,000 signing bonus along with vet min. -
BREAKING: Panthers signing Rashad Penny
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
If that is true, then one more time.....SHould have kept RIvera as well, even if it was time. The whole point was to bring the Panthers into more modern system. Choosing RHule was the first huge mistake, cause he wanted to do was 90s stuff as well.......then fire the one coach that was passing orientate, the next big mistake. Wilks just looked at what they did well and got rid of the other plays..... and he went 6-6 and should have made the playoffs if not for the choke job. I didn't want rhule AT ALL and wasn't on the wilks wragon either. Shane Steichen was my only pick, but he didn't zoom well or whatever that means. He is a 10x better QB coach than candy man. The issue is that 90s era ball can still win games and there's a good chance its the best way for the Panthers to win. The rams and 49ers have gotten picked clean, might as well give Matt Nagy another shot after next year...... The defenses have caught up, scoring was down this past year across the league. -
BREAKING: Panthers signing Rashad Penny

there was no benefit to cutting boz, bell, and Hurst......but Dan did it. Honestly I was shocked, he must have hated having them as Panthers. He should have kept them on as backups for at least this year. If they didn't agree, well take a massive pay cut in order to be cut or enjoy the bench. Turtle and sanders somehow missed this. -
BREAKING: Panthers signing Rashad Penny
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
I think he was 6th in yards and 2nd in average and he's got decent hands. Good 3rd down and top of mark returner. He should have a similar impact on new returns as well. I think he's a little more than a JAG. He's had a home on the Panthers for 3yrs and fought off players during. -
Then don't give him 180 with 100 mill in guarantees. In truth it was a 100 million smokescreen, LOLOOLololololol!! There a new report of cousins leaving the Vikings cause no matter what they were planning on drafting a early QB. It's one big mess, watch if he struggles out the gate, it will split the locker room and fans for to play penix instead.

BREAKING: Panthers signing Rashad Penny
Basbear replied to TheSpecialJuan's topic in Carolina Panthers
You forgot Blackshear, he was resigned with the new KO rule in mind. 5 is just too many. Maybe penny is just injury insurance, still odd signing. -
The 5th year allows tons of leverage when it comes to new contract talks. It's like having 20% more control of a contract. It allows cheaper numbers, cause well you have that 5years compared to 4. Plus you also have 6th, 7th, and 8th(I think) tagged years. Sure the QB doesn't play on it, but it allows teams to lower their offers given the years of control. The deal with penix is he's also old too, so that 3rd year he's going to be 26/7 unlike 23. You are also looking at the best side that penix can play and needs a new contract. It could easily be he's a bust and thus wasted this important era. The failcons should be comfy in the playoffs barring injuries. Now they missed on adding a edge making a key sack in the playoffs, to having spend the 8th overall on josh Rosen. Honestly they should have drafted Rome Odunze. Pitts, Robinson, Allgeier, London, with a *healthy cousins.....that's 5/6 big problems for defenses. Most days they'd be able to drop 40. Im super happy they didn't, but ask again in 3 years and I may regret.....
