    Burns wanted $30 million a year. We refused to pay that and traded him to a team that would. It’s pretty simple really.

    We are doing 2 things here IMO. 1. clearing out any mid level contracts to older players or players we feel are currently overvalued. 2. putting together enough pieces to properly evaluate Young to decide if he is in our new staff’s future or not. And no these pieces aren’t strictly related to Young’s skillset. They are needed for any QB trying to run a functional offense.

    If he does that’s great. He wasn’t doing it here so why would we pay him a HOF player contract?

    Hunt is a need for whoever is QB next year as well. The Eagles already reset the market with Dickinson. Hunt is a top 5 RG at 26 years old and got paid top dollar on day 1 of FA.

    He is a 26 year old top OG and he got top market day 1 of FA. He also fills a HUGE (pun intended) need. It all makes sense.

    The Burns trade was just the Sweat trade with an extra 5th. Both are similar players.

    The Burns trade is just similar to the Sweat trade. Burns is a slightly better pass rusher but a worse run stopper. We got an additional 5th.

    So it’s $63 guaranteed over 5 years. It’s really not that bad…

    People keep overlooking the guaranteed money as well. The $100 million was a number for his agent.

    That’s why it’s funny when we as fans get mad at them missing the open player. A lot of times they literally couldn’t see them.

    Only 27 years old too. Keeping that youth movement going.

    They are all 3 either 30 or turning 30 this year. Bozeman was a liability, Bell was a ok, and Hurst was below average. This mid-level vets tying up cap space are gone. I expect a youth movement to try to inspire this team to play with some passion.

    It's how we should have done this rebuild from the beginning. Start building with young hungry players and let them develop together as a team. Once we get competitive we can add these premium vets to put us over the top.
