  1. Sadly yes. Even with his dumb drops Thomas is a solid blocker and Sanders just isn’t ready yet. Haynes is honestly a decent rotational pass rusher. If Clowney can’t go, I don’t know who we even have at edge, DJ Johnson and????
  2. So Hunter is hurt again? It’s like maybe he shouldn’t be on the field for every snap on offense and defense…
  3. Tennessee just had a risky 4th down conversion inside their own 20.
  4. If he had his mullet they would have won by 32
  5. I’m pretty sure both Ewers and Manning have 2 INTs in the season and Manning played less games vs weaker competition. Ewers is a good QB and will be fine. Just a little rust starting off.
  6. This is a popular take. He will be the first to tell you his worst hits and injuries happened IN the pocket. Our lack of OL plus constantly asking Cam to play hero ball on 3rd and long shortened his career.
  7. Yeah I think we take a late round raw prospect this year and sign a bridge FA. Just keep building this bad roster in the draft. If Allar enters the draft (I doubt he will) I wouldn’t be against taking him in rounds 2/3.
  8. I wish it was back helmet, blue jersey, black pants, blue socks. This combo is interesting though. If we can’t win we better look good losing damn it!
  9. So Cal QBs. The other one is DJU. Anyone want to try him out??
  10. It was in the 2023 draft podcast by the Athletic. There have been other articles as well. I actually go this info from another person on a Discord site. We drafted him thinking he would sit behind Thomas and Tremble for a minute. Look how bad Zavala looked last year when we rushed him out vs this year. Honestly, just thinking about it we probably should line Sanders out like a WR and let him play to his strengths, learn that and get settled before pulling him in for these blocking assignments. I know we had to do it out of necessity, but yeah he is struggling right now.
  11. TEs are definitely more of a weapon now but that doesn't really counter my point of them taking time to develop. Yeah there are exceptions with the elite ones, but we are talking about a 4th rounder here. Look at last year's class, LaPorta did amazing (he was the exception), Kincaid was meh, Mayer didn't do much, Musgrave didn't do much, Shoonmaker didn't do hardly anything, Strange has like 9 targets, and these were all drafted in rounds 1-2. We have to be realistic with these players in regards to where they were drafted. Expecting a 4th round TE to start right away and look good do it isn't realistic... If Sanders develops into a solid starter than that would be a huge success for a 4th round TE.
  12. Yeah Cam is younger than our current starting QB. That’s pretty crazy really. I hate how we shorted his career. He should still be our QB at 35 years old…
  13. They are being lazy and having record carry a lot of weight. I mean Meyer couldn’t even finish his season and they finished as the worst team in the league. Saban made it 2 full seasons was a couple games below 500 and left on his own I believe? They both may have been assholes, but one was an asshole who was also terrible at his job.
  14. Nick Saban was 15-17 as a NFL HC. Not great but far from the worst ever…
  15. It was from a draft podcast from the athletic last year. There are always exceptions, but TEs usually take the longest from 2-3 years. It wouldn’t really make sense from a Panthers fan perspective as you mentioned we have developed 0 successfully lately.
  16. Man I remember he had one game he was electric. I thought it was his coming out party. I was wrong…
  17. I mean our best TE really took off year 4 after the Bears traded him for a 3rd after drafting him in the 1st 3 years prior. It’s not a Panthers thing it’s learning to be an OL and WR at the next level. Year 3-4 is typically when TEs starting figuring it out and peaking. Sanders blocking has been bad, but I wouldn’t worry about his drops. He had zero his last year in college. That’s almost certainly a speed of the game thing and will get better with some more live reps. Again 4th rounders and especially TEs usually take time. Hell WRs use to until recently some of these elite ones are taking off right away.
  18. Yeah I’m going to disagree with comparing a 4th round TE struggling his first year to a QB we traded up to pick 1 struggling in year 2 after a horrific year 1. Big difference there. A 4th round TE shouldn’t be starting right now. As I already mentioned TE has the longest adjustment period of any position in the NFL. Now throw in Sanders having blocking as a weakness at Texas and we are asking him to do that a lot. Expecting him to contribute meaningful snaps right away was just wishful thinking honestly. You have a “generational” talent in Bowers who is a glorified WR with 300 yards and 1 TD in 5 games.
  19. TEs usually take a couple years. Sanders was rushed out before he was ready because Thomas and Tremble were hurt. I’m wiling to give Sanders a while as he is a 4th round TE.
  20. We traded back before we traded up and acquired a future 2nd in the process. It's not like we threw away additional high picks to get him. I think it was a couple 5ths that we just acquired or got back regardless. 5th rounds picks were being written off as not worth our time for AT and DJ earlier. We did however use our 2nd on a player that isn't able to contribute right away and that really hurts with as many holes as we have on this roster. The pick itself was questionable. The trade up part of it was no big deal though. In totality we dropped back some spots and got a 2025 2nd plus Brooks.
  21. Yeah most of you all have been spot on about this. We just aren't good enough to take a player that has to sit a large portion of the season, much less a RB early...
  22. They just traded for Sam Howell and now they get a nice close look at him. I could also see their new HC wanted to draft one to develop while he keeps upgrading his defense which is his bread and butter. I'm just throwing out ideas. People were wanting to extend Dalton a couple games ago and he is even older. A nice 3 year deal for a 35 year old proven QB isn't terrible. It gives us another couple years to find one to learn behind him (I'm think the 26 class might have some good ones). It also lets us use our early draft picks to try to inject some talent in this defense.
  23. Moton has been playing great and is our best OL in a solid group. Depending on the numbers an extension could be a win/win. I hate to let a talented OL walk for nothing. I feel like the cap akways looks good 2 years out. Then we shuffle our roster and it looks rough in the immediate future.
  24. The age plus the cap hit makes me think they might release him. If they miss the playoffs and have a higher pick I could see it happening. Maybe they can package him plus a couple firsts for our pick depending on where we both land and draft their QB. Then we can extend him. Who knows? There is still a lot of football left....
