Who are you talking about?
-
Damn I liked his upside….
-
Still there? Just checking in…
-
Yeah Horn is a press man CB. He will go cover whoever Snow tells him to cover. Definitely a waste to try to make him play zone…
-
A 2nd would be tempting, but damn imagine if DJ pulls a hammy or something… I’d rather let our young guys learn and develop this year instead of relying on Moore and a bunch of rookies. CMC and Arnold would soften the blow if he is traded though…
-
Don’t venture into such dark places in your mind. Keep that poo suppressed and locked away like I do.
-
We won’t get anything that significant for him. Julio fetched a 2nd, a 3rd would be best case and we can get that in the form of a comp. The WR room turns into DJ, other Moore, and some rookies/unproven players without him. I think he is needed this year for Marshall and Smith to develop.

The defense is young and one of the more talented ones we have fielded in a while. Will it take them a minute to gel and learn the game? Sure. Chinn, Horn, Burns, Brown, and Reddick are all playmakers with some solid vets sprinkled in there. I mean Shaq is now a middle tier player on our team where he should be. Offense is also young with potential. Just having CMC back will do wonders. Throw in Arnold/Tremble as TE options and Marshall/Smith as young weapons we seemed to have improved there as well. LT and QB are the two question marks and two most critical positions. We did attempt to address these positions as well. Darnold should have more talent than Teddy, with plenty of room to grow/develop. We used Scott/Little more times than not last year at LT and we added a vet in Erving and a rookie in Christensen to compete. We have at least attempted to address our weaknesses this offseason, now it’s time to sit back and enjoy the show!
-
I think they will be middle of the pack. Elf and Paradis are going to be better than expected, Moton should be his usual solid self and Miller/Christensen will handle the other guard spot. LT is clearly the weakness, but Erving has experience, Scott was ok last year, and Christensen has potential there. I hoping for (LT, LG, C, RG, RT) Christensen, Elf, Paradis, Brown, and Moton by the end of the year. Erving, Christensen, Paradis, Miller, Moton is the more likely scenario and our floor.
-
Yeah that seems more than fair to me.
-
I think it depends…. If he goes from 32nd to a mediocre 16th QBR that is quite a jump. I would assume he would continue to grow in develop in our new system/staff the following year. That’s around Matt Ryan’s ranking this past year. I seriously doubt he will go from last to top of the league in one season in a new system.

The Arnold & Tremble Combo: Why it will shine
ForJimmy replied to saX man's topic in Carolina Panthers
Tremble and Arnold will be our T&A Package. Who wouldn’t want to see that? -
They also both didn’t really start playing QB until junior year in high school. Darnold played WR and LB in high school, Tannehill WR and CB before taking over the QB spots their junior years. So both players were still new/raw to the position and had Adam Gase coaching them to poo early in their NFL years. There is definitely still potential there for Darnold. Hopefully our staff can coach him right and help undo the crap he saw at NYJ.

Depends on how they use Pitts. If he is lined up out wide and is there best weapon I would expect our best coverage guy to cover him. That’s the luxury of Horn IMO, he has the speed and size to take away our opponent’s best weapon. With Julio gone and Pitts being drafted so high, he will get plenty of looks his rookie year. Horn covered Pitts some when USC played Florida and did ok.
-
I remember you saying everyone in the league wanted him desperately despite injuries and cap hit. Looks like he went for a 2nd round pick. Basically what we gave up to get Darnold... except the Titans in theory will be a very late 2nd rounder.
-
So now Horn/Chinn can work on Pitts, making the Falcons much more stoppable from a defensive point of view. A 2nd round isn’t good value either. It’s probably going to be late 50s/early 60s for arguably the best WR in the league.
-
Lol yeah he really took a stab in the dark on that one? Titans were the favorites to land him the whole time.
-
Yeah again I don’t think either should be on a roster. I’m by no means advocating for Grier. Bringing in a new guy is definitely the best option. The main reason I was putting down PJ is because it was getting suggested that he start over Darnold. Just a dumb statement....
-
He is a Panther now, like it or not. Let’s hope he works out and stop trying to troll every post about him.
-
Where are the McCown brothers?
-
Brett Hundley might be a good option. He isn’t great, but he has experience and is a capable backup.
-
Hopefully not. Unless one of the undrafted rookies like Peyton Ramsey look serviceable, which I doubt...
-
How much of the Jets performance was really on Darnold?
ForJimmy replied to SBBlue's topic in Carolina Panthers
FYI Sizzle is a troll. You can answer his questions with data and examples and he will just keep adding to it or changing it to keep his trolling alive. It’s a waste of time to engage. Remember Don’t Feed The Trolls. -
I’m not arguing Grier vs Walker. Honestly they both don’t belong in the NFL. Walker’s Saints game was a disaster. My post was referencing someone wanting Walker to play over Darnold which is nonsense.
-
I mean PJ was a undrafted rookie who was shown zero ability in the NFL, is older than Darnold, is smaller than Darnold with a weaker arm, and was out of the league just over a year ago. If we cut him there is a big chance he won’t get signed anywhere else. The only thing keeping him here is familiarity with Rhule from Temple.
