  1. Because he gets injured every year....
  2. Julio is getting old and injury prone. If they can get a decent return their offense will still be good with Ridley and Pitts.
  3. Is he that 8 year college player? Maybe playing at Washington?
  4. It doesn’t matter this guy makes a new account every so often. Chuck, Sanjay etc... By the time we know if Darnold is the answer or not, he could be several more accounts deep.
  5. Yep, just look at the stats of WRs that went against Horn. Only one had over 50 yards and he won the Heisman and still was held to 60. Teams don’t throw to top CBs if they are doing their job.
  6. Agreed, but even a healthy DJ, Melvin, and Bouye brings some experience. Pride should be better and Horn should be at least average this year with some growing pains. We are in way better shape than previous years. Just last year we were reliant on 5th round Pride and 7th SOT getting a lot of playing time pretty early... Oh and Brown, Burns, and YGM should all be better with the addition of Reddick and Jones plus experience. Better pass rush makes life so much easier for these guys. I’m excited to see what Snow can do with a more complete roster!
  7. Darnold to Arnold might be my favorite to say.
  8. You think Darnold retires in two years?
  9. Hartsfield, Robinson, Franklin, Burris (more of a SS), and Pride. May the best man win! Also I’m sure we are on the lookout for vets getting cut as rosters are trimmed down. The good news it we actually have legitimate CBs now so the position isn’t as dire as it has been.
  10. It all makes sense to me. FWIW I think that has the makings of a solid practice squad... Ramsey, Smith, and Bayless are all guys who can eventually get roster spots in my opinion.
  11. I would think so. Experienced vet that played a couple games last year (one looked solid and one terrible). He is way more mobile that Grier and has a better arm. Who else would be the backup QB?
  12. I keep forgetting about Melvin. Low key solid vet depth at that position.
  13. The next question is can Shi Smith develop into a Doug Baldwin role for us? Baldwin went undrafted, but was also part of that 2011 draft that Fitts helped bring in his first year.
  14. “No natural coverage ability, fluidity or bursts. He also ran a 4.54.”
  15. That’s fair. The CBs that worry me are the ones who are afraid of contact. Taylor pursues and looks to want contact, just needs to increase his lower body strength and technique which are both coachable/trainable.
  16. Who hates Cam? He is my favorite Panther. I just don’t have an issue moving on from him because his price wasn’t equivalent to what was left of his ability. I believe he was due $20 million when we let him walk after not being able to stay healthy for the previous 3 years. Cam was one of the most important, exciting players in franchise history and we did him a disservice by never getting him a decent line and running him into the ground. The good news for us is the Owner/GM/Staff that failed him is no longer with this organization.
  17. https://www.google.com/amp/s/catcrave.com/2021/05/21/carolina-panthers-expect-keith-taylor-jr-2021/amp/ Some more thoughts on him.
  18. There is definitely weaknesses in his game currently. He doesn’t need to be insanely fast with Horn and Jackson capable of matching up against the speedy WRs. He has the size and personality to have a good amount of potential. I’d like to see him at CB, but worst case scenario is he provides competition for our safeties. Not terrible for a 5th round pick!
  19. Jaycee Horn obviously has a lot of us excited about having a potential shutdown CB and rightfully so. He checks all the boxes. However there was another CB with nice size and ability drafted in the 5th round... I’m talking about Keith Taylor (obviously), a potential 5th round steal. Let’s take a look at our new GM’s first year as Seattle’s Director of College Scouting in 2011 and what they found in the 5th round. https://www.google.com/amp/s/seahawkswire.usatoday.com/2018/02/28/a-look-at-richard-shermans-scouting-report-from-the-nfl-combine/amp/ A CB with good size and ability that was still raw and “could contribute as a backup in press man coverage.” I’m not saying that Taylor will be the next Sherman, Sherman is one of the most intelligent CBs to play the game IMO. However the guy that helped find a player with his ability at the same position just took a player that is also 6’3” 195 in the same round. If he can develop into a “Sherman-Lite” just imagine how great our secondary can be (especially with our pass rushers). Here is a video highlighting Taylor’s strengths and weaknesses (he was a 5th rounder so obviously there are weaknesses). Tackling is a weakness, but the eagerness is there. He pursues and shoots the gap, but needs to work on his lower body strength to finish the tackle (very coachable). Top end speed is another issue, but with Horn and Jackson he doesn’t need to cover the fast guys. There is also a mention of moving him to safety, but he looks best when we is pressing in man coverage, similar to Horn. Here is to hoping Fitts can repeat his success that helped turned the Seahawks into one of the league’s best secondaries!
  20. My only guess would be concerns about a team trading with the Jets or the Jets considering Lance once they realized how badly the Niners wanted him? I know at one point the Jets were considering trading the pick and keeping Darnold, not sure if the timing aligns with the “smokescreen” or not.
  21. I don’t even think Stidham had much NFL talent around him on offense at Auburn? Burrow would have made more sense, but he looks good in the NFL.
