I’m just asking for the throwing sessions that Stroud specially held all offseason for his WRs. I knew about the Madden thing. It’s turning into a run around and repeat of old topics. Yes Stroud is better than Young and yes Young is very small. Thanks for the input. Now is there any actual record of this original topic or are we trying to spin it back to something else to avoid answering the question? I don’t care if he did or didn’t but it’s getting mentioned like it’s a fact. I honestly don’t know if CJ even needed to, but I was curious to see the articles on it.

You went a long way without answering the question. Again I’m indifferent about Young and Stroud is one of my favorites. I just think a lot seems to be getting assumed here. For example Young got on social with his WRs last year and it was just PR. Stroud does a throwing session for a Madden streamer and he is putting in the work. I try to keep comparisons straightforward and fair, and Stroud has plenty to hold over Young’s head without trying to assume too much.

The CJ Stroud throwing session thing? Where did you find this? I’ve seen him throwing with Diggs and his WRs that one day where they were invited to play with that Madden video streamer. I also see where the first thing Stroud said he would do is take some time off. I keep seeing this being posted so I’m assuming I’m missing something? "First, I'm going to relax," Stroud said. "Take some time off. I've been going hard since I was like 12 years old. AAU tournaments, baseball, football, 7-on-7, high school, a ton of sports being played. It's been a blessing. It's been a ball. I'm 22 years old, and this is my first time ever having freedom away from school, away from college. So I'm excited. But at the same time, just like I'm ready to relax, I'm ready to get back to work, too. But I have to take some time to myself. It's just the right thing to do." Quarterback Case Keenum, who just completed his 12th NFL season, said a mental "recharge" and unwinding a bit is of the utmost importance. Especially in regards to the gauntlet Stroud just completed over the last 18 months or so.

Right his arms are noticeably bigger. There mare clips or him working with ISM in the gym and throwing passes. People are stuck in their opinions and it’s going to be polarizing until he either plays up to expectations or gets replaced. I mean last offseason he was working with his WRs and it was just a “PR stunt”. It’s like the news, people are going to spin comments/interviews however they need to in order to push their views/agenda.
-
People will take quotes and use them to back whatever agenda they are pushing unfortunately it’s just part of it. The part about him doing his workouts every morning will get ignored by some while the part about Netflix will get highlighted. At the end of the day he will either produce or not. Until then we will have the same conversations over and over because it’s the offseason.

I kind of want to see what Maalik Murphy does as a starter at Duke. He has a cannon for an arm and would be technically draft eligible. He doesn’t seem that mobile though..

What do you want to see come out of the 2024 season the most?

Fair point. We could have the 16th ranked offense with Bryce playing well. What if he is injured in that scenario. I’d still rather have an answer at QB and HC. -

If Bryce mimics Stroud’s rookie numbers we have our HC and QB set. Two huge hurdles IMO. Our offense would probably be a top 10 as well with that kind of season and any hint of a running game. -
Where will the wins come from? (my early predictions)
ForJimmy replied to NAS's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah the “eating crow” thing is dumb because at the end of the day most of us fans just want to see some wins. Sone have their guards up and some don’t care. -

The offense is upgraded no doubt. OL, Johnson, XL, Brooks all should contribute this year. Defense is close but I think it’s more balanced now. If we sign Gilly I’d feel better. -
Caleb Williams is struggling big time in OTAs
ForJimmy replied to Lame Duck's topic in Carolina Panthers
Yeah there is no magical test that tells you how good a QB will be. You have to look at tape, potential, character, and then they need to go to a good system where they can develop. It seems to be the toughest position to project. -

It could have. I don't remember the exact timing but it was close to the draft. Regardless yeah it kind of made the S2 seem irrelevant as shown by the lack of attention it received this year. -

https://wonderlictestpractice.com/s2-test-scores-for-2023-quarterbacks/ It's why they were even asking Stroud about his score in that sports illustrated article in which he responded "I'm a football players not a test taker" which I kind of liked. There were rumors stirring around CJ might drop to the Raiders but the NFL GMs weren't that dumb. -

It’s in the article. It was a 18. They came back after his great season and said they think it was an error but too late. The damage was done. It’s why no one mentioned the S2 this year. -

I think you might have him confused. Young was like a 98 or something near perfect. It was leaked Stroud failed it pretty bad. https://www.si.com/college/ohiostate/news/ohio-state-buckeyes-football-former-quarterback-cj-stroud-not-a-test-taker-claps-back-s2-cognitive-test-criticisms -

Stroud killed the test. RIP S2… -

I think they have all disappeared like the S2 scores. -

If the QB play is brutal, I’m assuming the offense didn’t look great. I’m just saying what happened with Cam isn’t the norm. -

Which is an outlier because preseason usually dictates the regular season? Right? -

Fuller should be better than Bell. We cut Bell to sign Fuller who had played great with Evero in the past. Luvu walked but we signed Jewell who has had over 100 tackles in 3 of his past 4 years with his best one under Evero at Denver with a career high of 128 tackles and 7 for a loss. Jewell is probably the better fit in Evero’s scheme plus we have a healthy Shaq to play with him. I’d argue both position groups are upgraded on paper.. -
Bryce Young #34 on Chris Simms' top 40 list
ForJimmy replied to Jackie Lee's topic in Carolina Panthers
Oh it's nothing elite, but we played without Horn last year. Gilly playing at 80% is better than any CB2 we have had in a moment. Luvu was fun, but he was out of position in Evero's defense. Jewell is a tackling machine and has had over 100 in 3 of his last 4 with his highest being at Denver with Evero. Pass Rushing and CBs are strong red flags but they also were last year. On paper it's the same or maybe slightly better than last year and Evero had them keeping us in some games. Hell our 2 wins were due to the defense and the kicking game. -

Well you have year 2 of the new scheme so several players should be more comfortable. Vs last year DL we added Robinson to play DE giving Brown a solid presence on the other side, plus he is familiar with Evero (I don't like Shy at NT but he was there last year too) LB- Clowney and Wonnum are more complete/probably better than Burns and YGM, Jewell and Shaq are better than Luvu and whatever random guy from the streets we had playing last and again Jewell is familiar with Evero CB- This is a big red flag but vs last year we kept Hill at slot, we lost Henderson and replaced him with Jackson which seems like a wash to me. If we can sign Gilly I will consider this upgraded but as of now it's a weakness and a wash Safety- Fuller replaces Bell as an upgrade who is also familiar with Evero. I think we signed another vet in Scott as depth Depth is still an issue no doubt but it looks slightly better on paper than last year IMO...
