  1. So any of them that worked out don't count? When looking at first round picks we gave up next year's first and DJ Moore (who I could as a first) there were a couple 2nds (one a distant future one in 25 and one late one we got from the Niners in the CMC trade). There just aren't many cases when teams gave up a lot to move to 1 because usually that pick isn't for sale. Too small of a sample size to make a good judgement.
  2. https://www.espn.com/nfl/draft2021/story/_/id/31173355/all-29-s-nfl-teams-traded-draft-quarterback Here they all are. Watson, Allen, Mahomes, Flacco, Goff, Jackson lead the way with plenty of blunders as well (Darnold being one of them). Most of them are for smaller compensation, but there just aren't many examples of giving up a lot to move to pick number 1. Usually pick 1 isn't for sale which is what made this year so unique.
  3. Honestly Hill played with some fire, Chinn, Djax, our safeties are pretty solid too.
  4. The screen pass to Thielen needs to be completely removed from our offense. Sprinkle some of that to Shenault like you are saying and I'm good with it. Forcing Sanders up the middle into the strength of their defense with 2 backup OGs wasn't a very good call either. I feel like those 2 plays were 50% of our offensive calls.
  5. Good things happen when you throw it deep. Chark was definitely unable to complete his route due to the Saints CB grabbing him and directing him out of bounds way past 5 yards deep. Chark sold it well too. It probably wasn't catchable, but he wasn't able to jump and make an attempt to see if it was.
  6. Yeah the Olave highlight catch is what changed the whole game. It was pretty even before that. On a side note thanks for your usual rational responses and critiques. It was a very frustrating game to watch and I'm sure there was a bunch I missed.
  7. Yes and Chark! They threw it deep to Chark once and drew PI.
  8. They were worn out. Offense could sustain drives.
  9. Chinn was great and needs to stay on the field.
  10. Sanders QB looks legit, Prime has said he doesn't want to coach in the NFL. https://www.nbcsports.com/nfl/profootballtalk/rumor-mill/news/deion-sanders-i-wont-coach-in-the-nfl-because-i-have-too-many-old-school-attributes
  11. At this point it doesn’t matter. It was a bad move to decline that trade but we can’t let that prevent any future moves.
  12. At the trade deadline a team will be desperate for Burns like the Rams were last year. We obviously won't get that kind of return, but a 1st plus player or conditional pick should do the trick. Brown needs to be extended ASAP.
  13. It was a good play design. Everyone thought he was coming in for the QB sneak and he just tosses it to Sanders.
  14. Will you let someone else who is very qualified call the plays because you haven’t done a good job at it? No. I did a good job with it….
  15. Herbert started week 2 because a team doctor punctured Tyrod Taylor’s lung in accident or something weird like that…
  16. It’s the plays. You have 2 backup OGs in the game so let’s take our RB and ram him into the middle which is a strength for NO over and over and see what happens. Option 2 is a constant WR screen to Theilen?? Who might be our least athletic WR….
  17. You hired an OC from the McVay Tree that had HC interviews. Let him do his job.
  18. The Saints knew it was coming. They were just waiting there. More deep attempts to Chark and use Laviska more. Those are our most explosive players until Mingo gets more comfortable.
  19. We have to get Brown calling plays. My wife (who knows very little about football) asked why Carolina always throws to the wide receiver behind the line while several different guys tackle him.
  20. Oh they are getting a TD here. Why is Burns on the bench??!
  21. Yeah that wasn’t smart. He has been all about throwing the ball away and that was a prime time to do so.
