  1. Yeah that’s too much but he was signed before the market crashed for RBs. We overpaid and it wasn’t that huge of a contract.
  2. For a RB? Maybe. I guess it depends on the definition of “great.” Regardless we shouldn’t throw money at him after drafting Brooks.
  3. I wouldn't extend Hubbard unless he kills it this year. Our investment in the OL should allow a lot of RBs to play great. Brooks should eventually be RB1 so unless we are signing Chuba for something pretty cheap, I wouldn't do it.
  4. The fact they were able to ditch a young star like Watson and walk away looking so much better so quickly is amazing. They get to avoid all that off field poo now and have a new and probably better franchise QB.
  5. Both things are true. We should have drafted Stroud and he ended up in a better situation. He didn’t have to say that. Could have left it at some things were beyond Bryce’s control and he will be fine. One thing about Stroud in his interviews, he pretty much tells it straight. He isn’t a BS fluff kind of guy.
  6. Slowik is legit. I wish we gave him a stronger look. Slowik, Stroud, and Ryans gave them a freaking amazing offseason.
  7. Stroud would have probably played better here, but not as good as he did in Houston. His OC is from the Shanny tree and had full control of the offense. Even Stroud will tell you his situation was better, in fact he did. https://www.si.com/nfl/2024/02/07/c-j-stroud-passionately-defends-panthers-bryce-young-after-woeful-rookie-season#:~:text=You can't make a,comparison to that of Stroud's.
  8. Yeah someone will throw at least a 7th to prevent him from hitting waivers.
  9. They may trade him. I heard the Falcons are interested in him. He is what WR5 for the Texans?
  10. “You are never going to read the backside first on a rollout.” That should answer some questions on why he hit AT vs DJ on his PA rollout. Not that it really needed explaining but some wanted a different read.
  11. Lol right? I’ll take the open 17 yard “check down” every play if it’s allowed by the defense. You would be dumb not to. I think some people play too much Madden…
  12. Put it this way. Only Purdy average more YPA than Young did in that limited series. If Young goes from 5.5 to 8.8 playing a decent amount of games we should be happy. It's why overly critiquing it just looks silly. The main concern is can he do it in the regular season against good defenses.
  13. I wanted Stroud too. I think that is part of the frustration for some of the fans that wanted him. Seeing him have his instant success and becoming a top QB so quickly. I'm also an Auburn fan so I'm far from a die hard Bryce guy. Last season what just such a cluster, it's really hard for me to critique anyone on offense. Icky, Mingo, and hopefully Bryce should be instantly better by having a decent staff around them. To what degree is anyone's guess. I'm with you though early results show a possibility of hope, but I'm not looking too much into preseason.
  14. What are you even rambling on about? Mahomes had a YPA last year of 7. He will absolutely take what the defense gives him. Sure he will occasionally do things outside the box, but that's not something coaches want replicated. Don't try to make your QB be the unicorn that is Mahomes. Also there was no BIG chance here. Johnson is like 15 yards away from the LOS in the freeze frame and Bryce is already moved on the AT ready to throw to his open read. Yes Bryce needs to take some deep shots when called for. This was simply not the case. If a WR is open past the marker and you see it, you better throw that pass ASAP. Running around and trying to play hero ball when it isn't needed is dumb. A majority of plays will be these quick mid to short passes and deep shots should be calculated when needed. Being called a hater is tiring and I bet those with genuine skepticism get tired of being lumped into it with people who are not being reasonable.
  15. Right. You are a definite skeptic which is fine and mostly warranted. At least you can admit when he does a decent job. I think you and most of the skeptics would love for Bryce to play great and be the answer, you all just don't see it. I can understand that. This very select few aren't going to be happy or impressed if he does IMO. For the record I don't think @45catfanis one either. I think he is just critiquing for the heck of it.
  16. The point is there was no need for it. He had a guy wide open right in front of him going with his momentum. For the record, critques like this on a clearly positive play where he hits his open read for a first down are what make terms like "hater" get thrown around.
  17. If he makes this throw across his body against the direction he is running it is still not that deep of a pass. Looking at where Moton is standing Johnson isn't quite 15 yards away from the LOS. The AT catch was a 21 yard pass. I'm not sure this has anything to do with him timid about taking deep passes or worried about NFL open being too tight. He threw to the open read for a first following the momentum of his rollout.
  18. He looked more comfortable but still had some happy feet which is understandable after last year. The question is will he continue to look this way when defensive coordinators start dialing in pressure. I hope so.
  19. Yeah me too. If a guy is wide open for a first down you take it. This is a “pattern” that Im ok with continuing…
  20. I think Reich played him way before he was ready. If I remember correctly, he was injured in most of TC so he missed a lot of reps then thrown into the starting lineup after week 1. I think he looked decent his first game but fell apart after that. He had that scary injury where he landed on top of his head too. Had to be carted off. Just a rough rookie year.
  21. It's nice to see our HC and OC adapting and calling plays to our players strengths. Hopefully they can keep this up in the regular season.
